La generación de combustibles a partir de productos agrícolasllamados agro-combustibles o biocombustibles ha sidoimpulsada recientemente como alternativa a los altos preciosdel petróleo y la contaminación debida al dióxido de carbono.Debido a que las materias primas usadas para la obtención debioetanol o biodiesel son empleados original y primordialmenteen la producción de alimentación humana, esta alternativa planteaun dilema para los productores frente al uso del suelo, enespecial al sopesar los precios pagados por el sector energéticocontra los del sector alimentario.La caña panelera es una de las materias primas con mayorrendimiento para la producción de bioetanol y es de especialrelevancia para Colombia, siendo este país el segundo productorde panela en el mundo después de la India y el mayorconsumidor per cápita del mundo (37,4 Kg/Hab). El estudioque presentamos a continuación está enfocado en analizar ladinámica de la producción de bioetanol a partir de caña panelera,siguiendo un enfoque prospectivo, a partir de la dinámica generadapor el uso del suelo, la contaminación y la seguridadalimentaria, que contrasta con investigaciones previas realizadasdesde la perspectiva de incentivos en la cadena de suministrode agro-combustibles. El artículo presenta la caracterización de la caña panelera enColombia, los proyectos vigentes y en desarrollo para la producciónde agro-combustibles en Colombia, la influencia delprecio de petróleo en azúcar y panela, igualmente la producciónde agro-combustible a partir de caña. Los datos históricosson tratados con estadística multivariada y redes neuronales con el fin de predecir el comportamiento futuro en la producción de caña panelera. Ladinámica de la cadena frente a la problemática es estudiada a partir de la identificación defactores y variables relevantes y su diagrama causal.

Se evalúo la calidad e indicadores de eficiencia tecnológica de la producción del queso semiduro Gouda en la Fábrica de Quesos Sibanicú, para la determinación de las mejores condiciones operacionales que permitan una adecuada conservación. Se determinan las características químico-físicas de la leche, el suero y los quesos a la salida de prensa y al final de la maduración. Se determinan el rendimiento, aprovechamiento de los componentes y las mermas como indicadores de eficiencia tecnológica. Se realiza una evaluación sensorial a los 20, 30 y 40 días de maduración. La leche presenta una calidad químico-física aceptable debido a un contenido inferior a lo normado de sólidos no grasos. Los quesos cumplen con los parámetros tecnológicos establecidos, se alcanza la mayor calificación a los 30 días de maduración obteniéndose buenos rendimientos. Los índices de consumo resultan menores que los del queso Patagrás y las mermas son equivalentes a valores de referencia.

Este artículo analiza de qué manera la institucionalidad internacional del ‘desarrollo’, a través de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sustentable y las políticas de erradicación de la pobreza global, ha respondido a la crisis del patrón civilizatorio moderno-occidental cuyos síntomas más visibles son el cambio climático y la extinción de especies. Desde una perspectiva crítica que se nutre tanto de los feminismos del Sur como del pensamiento decolonial, se muestran la continuidad y centralidad de lógicas patriarcales, coloniales y de clase que subyacen a la Agenda 2030 de Naciones Unidas y configuran el discurso hegemónico alrededor del ‘desarrollo’ en el siglo XXI. Asimismo, se analizan algunas de sus consecuencias específicas para las mujeres del Sur Global, quienes se movilizan en los últimos años en defensa del sostenimiento de la vida y se explora si esta Agenda plantea efectivamente un cambio de paradigma, como lo sugieren algunos autores, o si, en cambio, constituye más bien un ejercicio de simulación de soluciones que incita a la irresponsabilidad ante los problemas apremiantes que enfrenta la humanidad.

It is clear that today we face a situation of climate change. Temperatures are extreme, the water level of the sea increases, the ozone layer disappears, and so on. We do not care about the causes of this change. What interests us is to analyze how these changes affect the tourist map, that is, we argue how climate change affects tourism flows and sets new targets in relation to their needs and expectations of travelers. The rising temperatures are causing some areas that were previously lost a good tourist purely competitive edge for others who were in the final positions. But we must also bear in mind that if one link in the chain of the tourism system is altered, the others also suffer alterations. In short, this article will analyze the changes that will be placed under the tourism climate metamorphosis.

El cambio climático afecta de manera sensible al sector agropecuario, lo cual genera conflictos sociales, pérdidas económicas y pone en riesgo la seguridad alimentaria de la población; tal como se ha podido evidenciar durante los periodos de lluvias intensas y sequía presentados durante los fenómenos del niño y de la niña en Colombia. La solución a esta problemática requiere de procesos de planeación a largo plazo, basados en la recuperación de los ecosistemas, el uso de nuevas tecnologías y en la consolidación de una nueva identidad cultural orientada en la sostenibilidad, tal como se expresa en los planes y políticas de cambio climático del país. Esta revisión aborda los escenarios de cambio climático de Colombia y el departamento de Nariño, y evalúa los posibles impactos en el sector agropecuario; así como las diferentes acciones de mitigación y adaptación implementadas a nivel regional. Finalmente, se abordan algunas experiencias exitosas en América Latina como el cultivo de variedades resistentes al estrés climático, los sistemas agroforestales, la cosecha de agua y la lluvia sólida.

Se diseñó un sistema integrado de producción agropecuaria desde los principios de la agroecología en la granja la Colina ubicada en la Vereda Cajete, Municipio de Popayán, como contribución al proceso de certificación del programa agroambiental de la Universidad Autónoma Intercultural Indígena (UAIIN). Este proceso se llevó a cabo mediante levantamiento topográfico, análisis físico-químico de suelos, químico y microbiológico de aguas, evaluación de sustentabilidad mediante indicadores del sistema productivo actual y propuesta de ruta de transición, proyectando el sistema hacia la sustentabilidad, y contribuyendo en los procesos de capacitación a las comunidades que integran la UAIIN en la conservación de los recursos y recuperación de especies propias.

Las funciones y servicios ecosistémicos que los suelos proveen son esenciales para la calidad de vida humana, por ello se encuentran inmersos en siete de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), aunque no explícitamente. Sin embargo, en México, el deterioro de los suelos es cada vez mayor, al grado de ser una amenaza para la seguridad alimentaria. A pesar de la abundante investigación sobre suelos realizada por las distintas instituciones públicas del país, poco de ella se refleja en las políticas públicas. Ante esta ausencia se plantean nuevos formas de investigación, donde los diálogos inter y transdisciplinarios son necesarios, así como nuevos enfoques de estudio, que de manera individual y como parte de la Sociedad Mexicana de Ciencias del Suelo deben atenderse.
