                <text>Due to the global pandemic (COVID-19) currently facing humanity, a new environment that promotes teaching–learning is now emerging. This environment that challenges traditional teaching practices created an opportunity for the technology industry to capitalize on by developing creative e-learning platforms that empowers the teaching–learning process, during this ‘emergency’ situation. E-learning scenario is an important element to be considered, as it offers a host of benefits, such as reducing costs, allowing for education on-demand, etc., to its adopters. However, the application of this could bring some challenges, as some of the existing online platforms are not conducive to support clear communication among academic staff. This paper describes a report identifying the main problems faced by teachers and students from different countries in Latin America, when using e-learning platforms in a lockdown scenario, reporting the importance to include aspects related with emotions and awareness.</text>

                <text>According to UNESCO statistics (1), more than 1.5 billion children and youth in 188 countries around the globe have to stay home due to the closure of schools and higher education institutions following the Coronavirus outbreak. Many countries have shifted from traditional face-to-face methods to e-Learning in the light of the new states of emergency. Humans have the right to continue education in times of crisis, disaster, and violence. This is based on the assumption that each student is treated with equity and has access to education, which is not quite in consistence with the reality on the ground, especially in developing countries. Many countries have long used e-learning in emergency situations, including Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan, and South of Africa (2-4). Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT) is not usually planned in advance and involves a sudden shift from traditional teaching into a remote one in view of emergency situations like the outbreak of Coronavirus in different countries. This is a totally different situation compared to e-Learning in normal circumstances. After an emergency state, everything is supposed to go back to normalcy. Moreover, educators have to work in a highly stressful situation while having no knowledge of the end of the crisis. Nevertheless, after the Coronavirus crisis e-Learning will be in an entirely different state, especially in developing countries. Education leaders and policy makers in both public and higher education need to learn new lessons about education in crisis to develop their e-Learning systems. Due to unplanned nature of e-Learning in crisis situations, students, parents, teachers and faculty members may confront many obstacles in accommodating and embracing e-Learning in ERT. For instance, in most cases students complain about the inequality in education and the difficulties in gaining access to educational resources, while faculties complain about students' engagement in ERT environment.</text>

                <text>The urgency of the problems of designing and implementing research programs in modern education is determined by global transformations of the sociocultural and educational spheres around the world, caused by many reasons, but made visible as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. In this situation, education cannot mechanically reproduce existing models and practices of both full-time and distance learning, but should be rethought regarding changing conditions and contexts. The aim of the article is to formulate a categorical and methodological apparatus for analyzing the entire set of humanitarian practices, in statics and dynamics, with the aim of reflectively creating and developing educational systems. The leading method of analysis and reconstruction is the “field approach”, based on the ideas and concepts of psychology (K. Levin), sociology (P. Bourdieu) and psychoanalysis (J. Lacan) and providing a comprehensive description and problematization of the main aspects of educational reality: the value, the instrumental, the resource, and the human ones. It is noted that the approach allows one to overcome the one-sidedness and radicalism of various divisions and principles: a systemic or personal priority; the preference of quantitative or qualitative methods, subjectivity or objectivity concepts. The empirical basis of the study was made up of resources and tools for analyzing publication activity on the Dimensions (www.dimensions.ai ) and SciVal (https://www.scival.com/) platforms. The results presented in the article allow solving two interrelated problems: to modernize the scientific activity management system by level of individual universities focused on global competitiveness, and identify key areas of research in the field of education, relevant both from the point of view of the Russian educational situation and from the point of view of global trends.</text>

                <text>With the rapidly increasing volume of deep sequencing data, more efficient algorithms and data structures are needed. Minimizers are a central recent paradigm that has improved various sequence analysis tasks, including hashing for faster read overlap detection, sparse suffix arrays for creating smaller indexes, and Bloom filters for speeding up sequence search. Here, we propose an alternative paradigm that can lead to substantial further improvement in these and other tasks. For integers k and L &gt; k, we say that a set of k-mers is a universal hitting set (UHS) if every possible L-long sequence must contain a k-mer from the set. We develop a heuristic called DOCKS to find a compact UHS, which works in two phases: The first phase is solved optimally, and for the second we propose several efficient heuristics, trading set size for speed and memory. The use of heuristics is motivated by showing the NP-hardness of a closely related problem. We show that DOCKS works well in practice and produces UHSs that are very close to a theoretical lower bound. We present results for various values of k and L and by applying them to real genomes show that UHSs indeed improve over minimizers. In particular, DOCKS uses less than 30% of the 10-mers needed to span the human genome compared to minimizers.                 <text>Over the past few years there has been a large rise in the field of robotics. Robots are being in used in many industries, but there has not been a large surge of robots in the medical field, especially the robots for healthcare use. However, as the aging population keeps growing, current medical staff and healthcare providers are increasingly burdened by caring for the ever-growing number of senior patients, especially those with cognitive impairment of Alzheimer&amp;#8217;s disease (AD) and Alzheimer&amp;#8217;s disease-related dementia (ADRD) patients. As a result, we can expect to see a large increase in the field of medical robotics, especially in forms of socially assistive robots (SARs) for senior patients and healthcare providers. In fact, SARs can alleviate AD and ADRD patients and their caregivers&amp;#8217; unmet medical needs. Herein, we propose a design outline for such a SAR, based on a review of the current literature. We believe the next generation of SARs will enhance health and well-being, reduce illness and disability, and improve quality of life for AD and ADRD patients and their caregivers.</text>

                <text>Resumen  Objetivos: calcular índices de desigualdad con base en siete variables relacionadas con la pobreza monetaria, que son consideradas de interés para la nutrición pública en Colombia.  Métodos: estudio ecológico con base en datos de pobreza monetaria-2011 y los obtenidos en la encuesta ENSIN-2010 utilizados para calcular índices de desigualdad basados. Los grupos de análisis son menores entre 5 y 17 años y mujeres postparto durante las primeras 48 horas.  Resultados: la pobreza monetaria fue de 41,5% (IC 95%; 35,7 a 47,4). El 82,4% de la anemia y el 68,2% del déficit de B12 se evitarían si no hubiese pobreza. En todas las variables estudiadas es evidente la desigualdad, excepto en el exceso de televisión, Gini para el déficit de peso 0,20, para la anemia, 0,38. La pobreza explica el 78% de la inseguridad alimentaria del hogar.  Conclusiones: las desigualdades en nutrición pueden considerarse como dinámicas y complementan las desigualdades estructurales. Se evidencio que existe desigualdad en todas las variables estudiadas, excepto en el exceso de ver televisión o jugar videojuegos. La política pública para las mujeres pobres, acentúa la desigualdad por género. La distribución de la malnutrición no es homogénea en Colombia y ello evidencia la existencia de desigualdades injustas que afectan a los más vulnerables.</text>

                <text>El presente documento constituye un análisis de la situación actual de la educación en Honduras en cuanto a la desigualdad, inclusión y equidad educativa.  Para ello es fundamental y necesario conocer las tendencias políticas del país y de la región.  Los parámetros evaluados se han vinculado fuertemente con la pobreza generada por las distintas oportunidades en educación, empleo y bajos ingresos económicos.  En Honduras se muestra una ligera reducción de la desigualdad en 2011 respecto al 2009 esto a pesar de: la crisis política y social vivida en el país en 2009.  Los actuales esfuerzos por mejorar la equidad de la educación se enfocan en la búsqueda de intervenciones que, gestionando los escasos recursos disponibles, disminuyan las brechas en el acceso y el desempeño escolar asociados a las diferencias por estratos socioeconómicos, grupos étnicos, género, o por región de residencia de los estudiantes.</text>

                <text>O presente artigo tem como objetivo discutir a qualidade ambiental urbana. Para isso, apresenta o resultado do mapeamento da qualidade ambiental da cidade de Guarapuava – PR. Na confecção do mapa foram considerados os dados censitários do IBGE (2000), quanto à distribuição de água, serviços de esgoto sanitário, coleta de lixo, moradias improvisadas, e também, o mapeamento das áreas verdes urbanas. A partir dos dados foram gerados índices de qualidade ambiental. Os dados indicam que há uma desigualdade socioambiental materializada no espaço urbano de Guarapuava. Considerando também a distribuição de renda, a análise revela uma relação estreita entre a assimetria social e a injustiça ambiental.</text>

                <text>Este artigo tem por objetivo refletir sobre os mecanismos de dominação simbólica presentes no discurso das elites agroindustriais quando referidos à estrutura social no campo e à representação sobre quem são os agricultores familiares e quais suas aptidões, potencialidades e (im)possibilidades históricas. Procura mostrar que a retórica das elites agroindustriais aciona as carências à agricultura familiar para impor uma seletividade discursiva que impõe uma hierarquização sobre quem é apto ou não a integrar-se produtivamente pelo estabelecimento de um alinhamento de práticas pela interferência na construção de uma identidade própria, suscitando a dificuldade de construção de um espírito crítico e de percepção das diferenças existentes. Argumentos que se reportam aos interesses patronais agroindustriais e alimentam o próprio sistema de dominação. O artigo também procura mostrar que integração e exclusão são faces de um mesmo processo e se complementam na relação que as negam: o agricultor familiar “vocacionado” reafirma a exclusão do agricultor familiar “sem condição”. A promessa de crédito facilitado e de acesso ao mercado para os “empreendedores familiares” aprofunda diferenças com os agricultores familiares voltados para a produção de subsistência. Ser “ordeiro” e “consciente” como atributos da postura competitiva exclui os agricultores familiares mobilizados na luta por direitos e por isso considerados “desordeiros” e “inocentes úteis”.</text>

                <text>Se exponen y analizan los discursos de cinco profesionales de la educación, con formación en género y feminismo, en relación con las desigualdades educativas percibidas en el contexto urbano madrileño, ante la situación social y educativa generada por la Covid-19. Se realizó una investigación cualitativa a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas en base a bloques de contenidos desde un análisis naturalista de los discursos, empleando la triangulación. Las entrevistas fueron transcritas y analizadas buscando ideas compartidas desde una perspectiva feminista. Los resultados obtenidos permiten constatar la soledad de la labor docente durante estos meses de confinamiento, el abandono de la administración educativa, el aumento de un 30% en la dedicación horaria del trabajo, los problemas de salud física y salud mental entre las profesionales de la educación, la imposibilidad de continuar atendiendo las necesidades sociales y emocionales del alumnado ante la cantidad de contenidos curriculares a impartir y el olvido de la educación para la prevención de las violencias machistas. Las conclusiones principales vienen a constatar que el tiempo de trabajo ha tomado las casas, los espacios familiares y el tiempo libre y que se hace precisa una mayor coordinación y relaciones horizontales entre los equipos docentes aplicando políticas de cuidados. Será necesario poder atender emocionalmente al alumnado, así como realizar un cambio en el currículo para poder hacerlo compatible con los tiempos reales de la vida.</text>
