Estudio descriptivo no experimental, que tuvo como objetivo principal, encontrar las diferencias en las actitudes hacia la conservación ambiental entre los estudiantes de la Facultad de Ingeniería Química de la Universidad Nacional de la Amazonia Peruana; según el nivel de estudios, sexo, edad cronológica y el lugar de residencia; la población estuvo conformada por 189 estudiantes y se trabajó con una muestra de 111 estudiantes; la técnica utilizada para recolección de datos fue la encuesta, utilizando como instrumento la escala tipo Likert; los resultados mostraron que en la variable nivel de estudios los estudiantes del III nivel ocuparon el primer lugar, mostrando mejores actitudes y último lugar lo ocupó el V nivel; con respecto a la variable sexo, se encontraron diferencias a favor del sexo masculino; en la variable edad cronológica puede decirse que las actitudes de los estudiantes mayores ocuparon el primer lugar, seguido de los más jóvenes y finalizando con los estudiantes del grupo intermedio; así mismo se hallaron diferencias actitudinales entre los estudiantes de los cuatro distrito, como lugar de residencia. La variable nivel de estudios, parece no tener un papel distintivo en las actitudes hacia la conservación ambiental.

La actividad de polinizadores puede ser afectada por factores bióticos (e.g., densidad floral en el parche, despliegue floral) o por factores abióticos (e.g., temperatura, velocidad de viento, nubosidad). A pesar de la notable variación local, estacional e interanual en temperatura en zonas alpinas, las consecuencias de la variación microclimática local sobre la actividad de los polinizadores han recibido escasa atención en ambientes de alta montaña. En este estudio comparamos las tasas de visita a flores de polinizadores realizadas sobre poblaciones de exposición norte y oeste, en Chaetanthera apiculata (3.100 m de altitud), y en poblaciones de exposición este y oeste en C. lycopodioides (3.300 m de altitud). Se estudiaron los sistemas de reproducción de ambas especies para determinar su nivel de dependencia de un agente de polinización externo. En C. apiculata, la población que crece sobre la ladera de exposición norte estuvo sujeta a mayores temperaturas diurnas (1,8 °C) y mayores tasas de visita (7,8 veces) que la población sobre la ladera de exposición oeste. En C. lycopodioides, a su vez, la ladera de exposición este fue más cálida (3 °C) y más visitada (cuatro veces) que la población de exposición oeste. Mientras en C. apiculata, solo Faunula leucoglene (Lepidóptera: Satyridae) presentó mayor actividad en la población más cálida, en C. lycopodioides, solo F. leucoglene y Liphantus sp. (Himenóptera: Andrenidae) tuvieron mayor actividad en la población más cálida. La tasa de visitas de Faunula leucoglene fue afectada por la temperatura en C. apiculata y C. lycopodioides. Ambas especies, C. apiculata y C. lycopodioides, son parcialmente autocompatibles, y por lo tanto requieren polen exógeno para alcanzar una producción de semillas máxima. Nuestros resultados muestran que en ambientes de alta montaña las tasas de visita de polinizadores son altamente variables y que los factores microclimáticos pueden generar más variación en las tasas de visitas a flores que la densidad de capítulos florales en los parches. Nuestros resultados aportan valiosa información sobre las potenciales consecuencias del cambio climático global en la polinizaciónInsect pollinator activity can be influenced by biotic (e.g., patch floral density and floral display) or by abiotic factors (e.g., temperature, wind velocity, cloudiness). In spite of microsite, seasonal and interannual variation in temperature in the alpine zone, the consequences of local microclimatic variation on pollinator activity has been rarely studied in high mountain ecosystems. In this study we compared flower visitation rates on a north-facing slope and a west-facing slope in Chaetanthera apiculata (3,100 m of altitude) and on an east-facing slope and a west-facing slope in Chaetanthera lycopodioides (3,300 m of altitude). We studied the breeding system in each species in order to determine level of dependence on external pollinators. While the north-facing slope inhabited by C. apiculata was warmer (1.8 °C) and visited (7.8-fold) more frequently than the west-facing slope, in C. lycopodioides the east-facing slope was warmer (3 °C) and visited more frequently (4-fold) than the west-facing slope. In C. apiculata only Faunula leucoglene (Lepidóptera: Satyridae) showed higher activity in the warmer population. In C. lycopodioides, F. leucoglene and Liphantus sp. (Himenóptera:Andrenidae) showed higher activity rates in the warmer population. Flower visitation rate in Faunula leucoglene was correlated with temperature in C. apiculata and C. lycopodioides. Both C. apiculata and C. lycopodioides are partially self-compatible, and thus require exogenous pollen for maximum seed set. Our results show that in high elevation environments flower visitation rates can be highly variable and that microclimatic conditions can be more important for pollinator variation among populations than head density. Our results offer valuable insights on the potential consequences of global warming on plant pollination at high elevation

La biomasa y papel detritívoro-triturador de los decápodos contribuyen al procesamiento de materia orgánica y reciclaje de nutrientes en sistemas acuáticos. Sin embargo, poco se conoce de su biología y ecología. El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar la riqueza y distribución de decápodos, y describir algunos de sus aspectos biológicos en el río Guayuriba. Los organismos se capturaron con pesca eléctrica en once estaciones. Se determinó la riqueza y distribución espacial. A partir de diagramas de densidad y la prueba Kruskal-Wallis se compararon longitud total, del cefalotórax y peso, entre machos, hembras y estaciones. Se realizaron correlaciones entre el número y peso de huevos contra peso y longitud del cefalotórax de hembras de Macrobrachium reyesi. Se registraron tres especies, la más frecuente fue M. reyesi, seguida de Forsteria venezuelensis y Macrobrachium amazonicum. Las hembras de M. reyesi fueron más grandes que los machos, contrario a M. amazonicum. A nivel espacial machos y hembras de M. reyesi registraron diferencias significativas en longitud total, cefalotórax y peso; éstas fueron mayores en hembras ovadas respecto a no ovadas. El tamaño de las hembras mostró una correlación positiva con el número y peso de los huevos. M. reyesi presenta estrategias reproductivas similares a especies adaptadas completamente al agua dulce. Su tamaño para alcanzar la madurez sexual es relativamente pequeño en relación con otras especies. Investigaciones básicas como esta son necesarias para el manejo adecuado de recursos con potencial pesquero en la Orinoquia, caracterizada por su gran riqueza hídrica.

Las enredaderas son elementos conspicuos de la flora de diferentes ecosistemas. Numerosos estudios basados en patrones de distribución y ecología de este grupo de plantas se han realizado a escala regional, se conoce poco sobre los factores que afectan su distribución a nivel local. Se estudiaron los requerimientos germinativos de 21 enredaderas del Bosque chaqueño serrano de Córdoba, las cuales fueron clasificadas en típicas de bosques, matorrales e indiferentes. Se llevaron a cabo experimentos de germinación en tres regímenes de temperatura (15-5ºC, 25-15ºC y 35-20ºC), en luz (12-12hr luz-oscuridad) y oscuridad permanente. Se registró el porcentaje final de germinación, el índice de germinación relativa a la luz (GRL) y la velocidad de germinación (T50). La temperatura fue el principal factor regulador del proceso germinativo. El GRL y el T50 no registraron diferencias entre fisonomías. Los patrones observados apoyan la idea de que la germinación de este grupo de plantas estaría respondiendo a factores macroclimáticos (estacionalidad del clima y las precipitaciones), más que a un microclima (factores asociados a la fisonomía del sitio). La composición diferencial de enredaderas en los parches de bosques y arbustos no estaría explicada por los factores estudiados, sino por características de las etapas posteriores a la semilla.

Atropellos mortales de aves en Aragón, España La expansión de la red viaria y el aumento del tráfico de vehículos se han convertido en una amenaza importante para los vertebrados en el último siglo. Algunas estimaciones sitúan entre 2 y 9 millones de individuos afectados anualmente en Europa, con variaciones entre países. En España existen pocos estudios a escala nacional y autonómica. En este estudio se ha utilizado la base de datos del Centro de Recuperación de Fauna Silvestre de La Alfranca para determinar la localización, temporalidad e incidencia de los atropellos de avifauna que se producen en la comunidad autónoma de Aragón. Se han detectado 643 atropellos mortales de aves silvestres (71 especies) entre los años 2012 y 2014. Nueve de estas especies presentan una incidencia de atropellos alta; cuatro, una incidencia moderada, y 57, una incidencia baja. La especie con la mayor incidencia fue el buitre leonado (120 individuos). La distribución espacial de los atropellos fue heterogénea y julio, agosto y septiembre fueron los meses con mayor incidencia. Se identificaron 41 áreas de incidencia alta de atropellos, usando el índice de atropellos mortales por kilómetro (RI): 28 en la provincia de Zaragoza, 9 en la de Huesca y 4 en la de Teruel. Se proponen una serie de estrategias de gestión con el fin de reducir esta amenaza para las aves silvestres.

A elaboração de mapas de atributos químicos do solo consttui-se em uma ferramenta para o planejamento de ações regionalizadas para correção daqueles que apresentam níveis limitantes à produção agrícola. A distribuição espacial de dez atributos químicos no Estado de Santa Catarina foi determinada a partr de coleta padronizada de amostras de solos em lavouras dos dois sistemas de uso e manejo mais representatvos de cada região, na camada de até 20cm de profundidade. As médias dos valores dos atributos determinados nas lavouras de cada município foram georreferenciadas nas coordenadas geográfcas de sua sede, elaborando-se mapas com a distribuição espacial de classes de valores com o sofware ILWIS 3.2 Academic. Observou-se grande variação espacial dos atributos químicos do solo no Estado, com maiores teores de potássio e manganês trocáveis e de fósforo, cobre e zinco extraíveis na região Oeste; menores valores de pH em água e teor de matéria orgânica ao longo do Litoral e no Alto Vale do Itajaí; e maior teor de matéria orgânica e menores pH em água, saturação por bases e fósforo disponível no Planalto Sul. Essas informações são fundamentais para a elaboração de planos de uso e manejo do solo considerando as peculiaridades regionais.

Emphasis is given to the theory of natural foci of infectious diseases formulated by Pavlovsky and the interactions of epidemiology and geography.The current problem posed by emerging infections is seen as a determinant of the need for further discussion on the concept of space in infectious disease epidemiology.

El presente artículo busca analizar el proceso de construcción social del territorio y las posibilidades locales de desarrollo existentes en el caso de las comunidades de Cayambe vinculadas a la agroindustria. Se indagará cómo a partir de la inserción al mercado de las economías campesinas se generan transformaciones que apuntan a un proceso de desterritorialización. De esta manera, se trata de suscitar el interés en repensar la organización social existente desde la perspectiva de lucha de actores en el campo socio económico y además incorporar la “proximidad territorial” como elemento indispensable para lograr un mejor posicionamiento y una relación más equilibrada entre actores externos y locales.
