O objetivo deste estudo é analisar se o comportamento da Administração Pública durante a crise do coronavirus tem atendido às diretrizes legais sobre transparência na governança pública. Subsidiariamente, discutem-se a evolução do direito à informação no Brasil e a importância da transparência nos regimes democráticos. Conclui-se que, durante a crise do Covid-19, o governo federal não tem prestigiado, em sua plenitude, o direito de acesso à informação garantido pelo ordenamento jurídico, notadamente nos casos da Medida Provisória 928 e do “apagão” de dados no site do Ministério da Saúde. Issues: In this commentary, we describe licensing barriers faced by physician-migrants based on the authors' experiences, and reflect also on rapidly implemented measures to address COVID-19 pandemic related workforce shortages. We offer recommendations for potential reductions in bureaucratic regulatory barriers that prohibit mobilization of international medical graduate talent.
