No total foram capturados 1.356 indivíduos de 23 espécies dos gêneros Lutzomyia (21) e Brumptomyia (2). Na RFS foram capturados 1.061 espécimes, resultando num esforço de captura de 2,5 indivíduos/hora/armadilha e o predomínio de L. longipalpis (44,8%), seguida por L. antunesi (36,4%), L. sordelli (5,9%), L. flaviscutellata (3,9%) e L. whitmani (2,1%). O maior número de espécies (11) e indivíduos (60,1%) ocorreu na estação chuvosa. As espécies foram mais numerosas na estiagem (11) e os espécimes durante a estação chuvosa (54,6%).This study deals with the diversity, relative abundance and seasonality of sandflies species in two modified primary forest fragments, situated at São Luís city, capital of the state of Maranhão. The sandflies were captured with the use of light traps, CDC (Center Control Disease) type, installed at the edge and in the center of the forest, at the height of 1.5 meter, being there from 6 p.m. up to 6 a.m., once per month, during a year time. An amount of 1,356 specimens from 23 species, which 21 belonged to genera Lutzomyia and two belonged to genera Brumptomyia, were captured. It has been observed in several countries that a significant number of people fled a city or a region just before strict lockdown measures were implemented. This behavior carries the risk of seeding a large number of infections all at once in regions with otherwise small number of cases. In this work, we investigate the effect of fleeing on the size of an epidemic outbreak in the region under lockdown, and also in the region of destination. We propose a mathematical model that is suitable to describe the spread of an infectious disease over multiple geographic regions. Our approach is flexible to characterize the transmission of different viruses. As an example, we consider the COVID-19 outbreak in Italy. Projection of different scenarios shows that (i) timely and stricter intervention could have significantly lowered the number of cumulative cases in Italy, and (ii) fleeing at the time of lockdown possibly played a minor role in the spread of the disease in the country. Eleven passengers with PCR-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection and symptom onset within 48 hours of the flight were considered infectious during travel; 9 had recently disembarked from a cruise ship with a retrospectively identified SARS-CoV-2 outbreak. The virus strain of those on the cruise and the flight was linked (A2-RP) and had not been previously identified in Australia. For 11 passengers, none of whom had traveled on the cruise ship, PCR-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 illness developed between 48 hours and 14 days after the flight. Eight cases were considered flight associated with the distinct SARS-CoV-2 A2-RP strain; the remaining 3 cases (1 with A2-RP) were possibly flight associated. All 11 passengers had been in the same cabin with symptomatic persons who had culture-positive A2-RP virus strain. This investigation provides evidence of flight-associated SARS-CoV-2 transmission. The methodology included a systematic bibliographic search in a twenty-year observation window (1996-2016), which was carried out in six languages. The study presents five relevant strategies among the scientific community that have been successfully applied in many cities: green roofs, rainwater tanks, permeable urban surfaces, surface rainwater management, and local stormwater disposal. It also includes, for its potential and scope, a public policy: water sensitive cities. Se realizaron entrevistasa los copreros, ganaderos, tasisteros, carboneros,mangleros y carpinteros. Se registro la presencia de 58 especies y 54 géneros, agrupadas en 26 familias botánicas. Las familias  más frecuentes fueron Fabaceae, Arecaceae, Moraceae, Anacardiaceae, Combretaceae y Sapindaceae. se registro que el 33% de las especies se desarrollan en áreas inundables y 67% en áreas parcialmente inundadas. Los usos más comunes de estas especies son: combustible, para construcción (cimbra), mango de herramientas, muebles, carpintería, postes, cercos vivos, alimento,  medicina y otros. El mangle rojo, se emplea  en la construcción de casas,  elaboración de carbón, leña y artesanías. La madera del estípite del coco se emplea para la elaboración de muebles, bases para macetas y figuras artesanales; con la copra molida se elabora cocoa y chocolates. Las frondas de las palmas de guano largo se utilizan para el techado de casas, trojes y graneros. El tasiste se emplea para cercos, postes, graneros y en la elaboración de mesas, sillas, camas, comedores entre otros.De la flora registrada Avicennia germinans L., Calophyllum brasiliense Camb., Laguncularia racemosa (L). Gaertn., Rhizophora mangle L., Roystonea regia H.B.K. y Spondias radlkoferi Donn. Smith, son especies amenazadas de acuerdo ala NOM-059-ECOL-2010. Los resultados apuntan a la floración natural del de 26 accesiones (25 %), de ellas 18 (69,2%) florecen precozmente en los meses de julio hasta octubre, en los que hay un incremento de temperatura y la humedad relativa período a partir del cual se reduce la emisión de inflorescencias hasta noviembre cuando culmina el proceso de floración.Flowering of Malanga isleña germplasm (Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schoot in Cuba ABSTRACTIn order to evaluate the emission of inflorescences in the Malanga isleña germplasm (104 accessions) in the climatic conditions of Cuba, an investigation was conducted in the Research Institute of Tropical Root and Tubers Crops (INIVIT). During the years 2013-2014, were sampled every 7 days to evaluate emission of inflorescences, accessions were characterized according to the descriptors related to the inflorescences. The results point to the natural flowering of 26 accessions (25%), of which 18 (69.2%) bloom early in the months of July to October, in which occurs an increase in temperature and relative humidity, period from which the inflorescences emission is reduced until November when the flowering process ends. Title A name given to the resource Florence Nightingale’s Nursing and Health Care: The Worldwide Legacy, As Seen on the Bicentenary of Her Birth Creator An entity primarily responsible for making the resource Lynn McDonald Description An account of the resource Aim: The aim of this article is to articulate the distinctive features on the Nightingale School of Nursing on the occasion of the 2020 bicentenary of her birth. Design: This is a historical study, based on all the available printed and archival sources of Nightingale’s writing. Methods: The article draws on Nightingale sources (full books, articles, chapters, pamphlets and unpublished letters in more than 200 libraries and archives worldwide) published in The Collected Works of Florence Nightingale, 16 volumes, peer-reviewed; transcriptions are available on its website [1]. Results: Nine key findings are discussed in the article: (1) how different Nightingale’s nursing was from what was called ‘nursing’ at the time; (2) that the central role of training allowed nursing to move from being a women’s profession to being open to all qualified; (3) the evolution of Nightingale nursing as medical science and public health advanced; (4) the academic content in her training; (5) team building in her system; (6) her (often misrepresented) views on germ theory; (7) her late work on preventing cholera; (8) the worldwide influence of her work; (9) her work upgrading workhouse infirmaries and advocacy of what would be later called universal access to health care.
