                <text>O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o vigor e a produtividade do maracujazeiro-amarelo plantado em diferentes tamanhos de cova e plantio direto sob manejo orgânico. O experimento foi conduzido de 2005 a 2007, no Setor de Agricultura Ecológica da Universidade Federal do Acre, em delineamento de blocos casualizados, constituídos de cinco tratamentos, quatro repetições e quatro plantas por parcela. Foram avaliados cinco tipos de preparo do solo: T1 cova do tamanho do torrão (0,19 x 0,063m) com adubação em cobertura; T2 cova de 0,30 x 0,30 x 0,30m com adubação de plantio na cova; T3 cova de 0,30 x 0,30 x 0,30m com adubação de plantio em cobertura; T4 cova de 0,50 x 0,50 x 0,50m com adubação de plantio na cova; e T5 cova de 0,50 x 0,50 x 0,50m com adubação de plantio em cobertura. O tamanho da cova e o plantio direto não influenciaram o vigor da planta e a biomassa de raízes. O número de frutos por planta e a produtividade, na segunda e na somatória das duas safras, foram maiores com plantio direto e com covas cúbicas de 0,30m. Após dois anos de cultivo, a densidade do solo foi maior na camada de 0-5cm de profundidade num raio de 20cm da planta para o plantio em covas de 0,50m com adubação na cova e menor para o plantio direto, não havendo diferença entre os demais tratamentos. O plantio direto ou o plantio em covas pequenas com dimensões de 0,30 x 0,30 x 0,30m proporcionou maior produtividade de maracujá que o plantio em covas maiores, mesmo não influenciando o vigor das plantas e a massa seca de raízes.The objective of this research was to evaluate the yield and vigor of the yellow passion fruit tree planted in hole and no-tillage under organic system. The experiment was carried under experimental design in randomized blocks with five treatments and four replicates with four plants per plot. Five types of soil tillage: T1- hole of the size of the clod (0.19 x 0.063m) with manuring in covering; T2- hole of 0.30 x 0.30 x 0.30m with manuring addition in the hole; T3 - similar the T2, with manuring in covering; T4 - hole of 0.50 x 0.50 x 0.50m with manuring addition in the hole; and T5 - similar the T4, with manuring in covering were evaluated. The hole size and the no-tillage did not influence the vigor of the plant and root biomass. The number of fruits per plant and the yield in the second crop and in the total of the two crops were larger with holes of 0.30m and no-tillage. After 2 years of planting, the soil bulk density was larger in the depth of 0-5 cm to 20cm of the plant for the planting in holes of 0.50m with manuring addition and smaller for the no-tillage, there was no difference among the other treatments. The no-tillage or traditional system with holes of 0.30 x 0.30 x 0.30m, provided larger passion fruit yield than the traditional systems with holes of 0.50 x 0.50 x 0.50m, not having an influence in the vigor of the plant and the dry mass of roots.</text>

                <text>Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar os períodos de interferência das plantas daninhas na cultura do quiabo (Abelmoschus esculentus) na região do Médio Vale do Rio Doce, em Minas Gerais. O experimento foi conduzido em campo, entre maio e outubro de 2007. Utilizaram-se sementes do quiabo Santa Cruz-47, semeadas no espaçamento de 0,25 x 1 m. Foram estabelecidos diferentes períodos de controle das plantas daninhas na cultura, variando entre zero e 120 dias após a emergência (DAE). Foram avaliados 12 tratamentos, correspondendo a diferentes períodos de controle das plantas daninhas na cultura: capina após a emergência a partir dos 20, 40, 60, 80 e 100 dias; capina após a emergência até os 20, 40, 60, 80 e 100 dias; além de duas testemunhas com capina, ou não capinadas, ambas por 120 dias. Determinou-se o número de frutos por planta e o rendimento (produtividade), bem como os valores em dias para período anterior à interferência (PAI), período crítico de prevenção da interferência (PCPI) e período total de prevenção da interferência (PTPI), considerando 5% de perdas. A partir das espécies encontradas na área experimental, avaliou-se também, em vasos, isoladamente ou em competição com o quiabeiro, a capacidade competitiva das principais plantas daninhas. Com base nos resultados, verificou-se que o PAI estimado foi de 25 DAE, indicando a época de início das capinas. Para o PCPI, o período observado foi de 75 dias, indicando PTPI de 100 DAE. Entre as plantas daninhas presentes, Eleusine indica apresentou maior capacidade competitiva sobre a cultura.An experiment was carried out under field conditions in Médio Vale do Rio Doce-MG, from May to October, 2007, to establish periods of weed interference in Abelmoschus esculentus crop. 'Santa Cruz-47' seeds were sown in a 0.25 x 1.0 m spacing, and weed control times varied from 0 to 120 days after emergence (DAE). Number of fruit per plant and yield as well as values in days for Period Previous to Interference (PPI), Critical Prevention Period of Interference (CPPI) and Total Period of Interference Prevention (TPIP) were determined, considering 5% loss. Plants from the species studied were placed in the plots, isolated or in competition with A. esculentus, aiming to to evaluate the competitive capacity of the main weeds. Area, number of leaves and plant height of A. esculentus were evaluated.Yield and number of fruit presented a similar behavior. The estimated PPI was 25 days, indicating when to start weed control. The CPPI observed was 75 days, indicating 100 days for TPIP. Among the weeds evaluated, Eleusine indica showed the highest competitive capacity against the the crop.</text>

                <text>O objetivo  deste artigo é ampliar o conhecimento sobre as flores tropicais, com relação a  aspectos relevantes de sua produção e comercialização, para que ações mais  efetivas possam ser tomadas facilitando a ampliação da importância  socioeconômica desse setor no Brasil, a partir da elevação do desempenho da  cadeia e ampliação da participação brasileira no exterior. A pesquisa foi  realizada em 2008, durante importante feira, na cidade de Holambra, SP,  mediante entrevistas pessoais, a partir de questionário previamente  estruturado. Os dados resultantes da pesquisa foram analisados, inicialmente,  por meio de análise descritiva. Para que as relevantes informações fossem  agregadas em grupos diferenciados, a fim de compor o panorama do setor de  acordo com aspectos de produção e comercialização levantados neste estudo,  foram utilizadas análises estatísticas complementares: análise fatorial de  correspondência e de análise de conglomerados. Verificou-se que novas  tecnologias foram absorvidas mais facilmente, como é o caso de opção por mudas  microprapagadas, adoção de cultivos orgânicos, em função de maior disposição em  buscar e incorporar novas técnicas, seja por meio de cursos ou de serviços de  consultoria. De maneira geral, a pesquisa indica que há pouca informação sobre  o segmento de flores tropicais. Apesar disso, nota-se que há interesse  crescente por essas flores. Em relação ao antúrio, um dos principais produtos  tropicais, constatou-se que há perspectivas futuras positivas para elevação de  sua produção, comercialização ou consumo, tanto no mercado interno quanto no  externo. Para que possa haver crescimento das cadeias produtivas de flores  tropicais, ações mais efetivas deverão ser tomadas para intensificar o acesso  de novas tecnologias junto a cooperativas e produtores e para promover novos  produtos no mercado interno, junto a atacadistas, varejistas e consumidores  finais.</text>

                <text>Não há duvidas sobre a importância da reforma agrária como meio de fixação do homem no campo, como eficiente instrumento de distribuição de renda; enfim, como estratégia de desenvolvimento que busca soluções para os problemas de pobreza na região. Nesta perspectiva, a pesquisa procurou investigar como estão inseridas essas famílias em um contexto social, econômico e ambiental. Para tanto, foram realizadas entrevistas às famílias nos projetos de assentamentos Independência, São José, Cabelo de Negro e Recreio em Mossoró/RN. Na amostra analisada contatou-se que os assentados exercem atividades agrícolas de sequeiro e criam animais de grande e pequeno porte, mesmo com problemas de falta d’água existente, o grau de escolaridade foi considerada superior comparando-se ao de outros assentamentos, no entanto não há assistência médica, no tocante a práticas agropecuárias são simpatizantes da agricultura orgânica, embora trabalhem com insumos químicos, há a vacinação e vermífugação dos animais, e as famílias desenvolvem atividades desde a ovinocaprinocultura, bovinocultura, agricultura de sequeiro, criação de galinhas caipira, seguidas de outras atividades como extrativismo vegetal com expansão e cultivo das plantas medicinais nesses assentamentos.</text>

                <text>Esta revisión bibliográfica describe, desde el estricto punto de vista agronómico, la situación actual de la producción de maíz de polinización abierta en manos de productores de agricultura familiar en la Sierra de Ecuador y basándose en lo encontrado propone tareas de investigación que podrían mejorarla. La discusión no considera las obvias condiciones socio-económicas que afectan también a este sistema de producción. La producción de maíz suave de polinización abierta para grano seco y choclo es una opción interesante dentro de los cultivos que los productores de agricultura familiar utilizan para su sustento y para la generación de ingresos a su economía. Sin embargo, las técnicas tradicionales para producción de maíz como la preparación del suelo y la siembra no logran que el cultivo se desarrolle adecuadamente y produzca el potencial de rendimiento que el ambiente permite. Se pueden lograr poblaciones altas y uniformes utilizando cuidadosamente el espeque y colocando una sola semilla por sitio a distanciamientos que pueden variar de 0,7 a 0,8 m entre hileras y de 0,18 a 0,25 m entre plantas para lograr densidades de siembra superiores a 60 000 plantas ha-1. De esta forma, las plantas crecen uniformemente, pueden utilizar la luz de manera adecuada y pueden acumular rendimientos de grano adecuados. Si el objetivo es producir choclo, esta forma de siembra asegura una mazorca de adecuado tamaño por planta que permite producir buen choclo para el mercado. Por otro lado, es necesario reducir o eliminar el movimiento del suelo para tareas de siembra y control de malezas por medio de siembra directa. Esta forma de manejo no remueve el suelo, deja que se acumulen los residuos de cosechas anteriores en la superficie y coloca la semilla en el suelo sin moverlo. Esta es quizá la práctica de manejo de suelo que tendría más impacto a largo plazo en la producción ya que permite que los suelos se recuperen al mejorarse sus propiedades físicas, químicas y biológicas y al lograr acumular carbono orgánico en el suelo.</text>

                <text>La espectroscopía (NIR) aparece como una técnica no destructiva simple, rápida y conveniente, que puede ser usada para cuantificarvarias propiedades del suelo. Este método fue usado para estimar el contenido de nitrógeno y materia orgánica en un suelo oscuro plástico de laprovincia de Zhejiang, en el área de Hangzhou. Un total de 125 muestras fueron tomadas del campo. De ellas un total de 98 muestras espectralesfueron usadas durante la etapa de calibración y validación de la propia ecuación de calibración producida. Las restantes 27 muestras espectralesfueron usadas para estimar la concentración de nitrógeno y materia orgánica. Todas las muestras espectrales fueron correlacionadas usando latécnica de regresión PLS (Partial Least Square). Durante ambas etapas, calibración y validación, fueron obtenidos coeficientes de correlaciónsuperiores a 0,83. Todos los parámetros estadísticos obtenidos de la predicción del nitrógeno y la materia orgánica son mostrados en la Tabla2,Fig. 3. El valor de r2 obtenido entre los valores determinados (laboratorio) y predecido (NIR) para ambos constituyentes, nitrógeno y materiaorgánica fue 0,82 y 0.84, así como una raíz media cuadrática del error de predicción (RMSEP) 3,67 y 0,06, y un error estándar de predicción(SEP) igual a 0,07 y 0,06, respectivamente, demostrando que el método de espectroscopia tiene potencial para predecir con bastante exactitudestos constituyentes es este tipo de suelo.                 <text>Por generaciones, la producción y elaboración de yerba mate ha estado primordialmente en manos de miles de productores familiares en la provincia de Misiones (Argentina). Sin embargo, políticas de desregulación, cambios tecnológicos y procesos de concentración económica los han ido relegado a meros proveedores de materia prima a la industria. Este artículo describe y analiza la red socio técnica impulsada por un grupo de productores familiares que buscan recuperar una tecnología tradicional (los secaderos tradicionales o de sistema barbacuá) como alternativa productiva. Se presta atención a la historia del cultivo y elaboración de la yerba mate en el territorio, a las especificidades de este proceso productivo único en el mundo y finalmente al proceso de articulación de la red productiva evaluando sus logros y limitaciones. La perspectiva teórica es la teoría del actor red (ANT).</text>
