                <text>La presente investigación se realizó con el objetivo de proponer una campaña de bien público para los habitantes de la ciudad de Puerto Padre, Cuba, que contribuya a fomentar el desarrollo de la agricultura urbana. Para ello fue necesario elaborar el marco teórico referencial que sustenta la investigación, realizar un análisis conceptual del proceso de desarrollo de la agricultura urbana y el marketing social, con énfasis en las campañas de bien público, elementos que contribuyeron a fundamentar su diseño. Se emplearon métodos, técnicas y procedimientos de los paradigmas cualitativos y cuantitativos, que permitieron encauzar la información brindada y determinar los problemas fundamentales, entre los que se encuentran: existencia de terrenos inutilizados convertidos en basureros, el nivel de comunicación entre representantes y la población en cuanto a la asesoría y la atención a esta actividad es insuficiente, se observa desabastecimiento de productos frescos en los mercados, existe poco tratamiento del tema por parte de los medios de difusión masiva en el territorio, la población posee poco o ningún conocimiento acerca de la importancia de la agricultura urbana, y de los subprogramas que  se pueden desarrollar en el contexto urbanístico, así como de los beneficios ambientales, económicos y nutricionales que ofrece esta práctica agrícola; deficiencias que permiten valorar el estado actual de la agricultura urbana en la ciudad de Puerto Padre como desfavorable, por lo que se hace necesario desarrollar la propuesta para contribuir al cambio de actitud de la población en el desarrollo de la agricultura.</text>

                <text>The COVID-19 pandemic has caused educational institutions around the world to close their doors and move their teaching and learning into the online space. For many medical educators, who usually rely on face-to-face and blended instruction, this presents a challenge. By rethinking learning design, medical educators can ensure a smooth transition of their subjects into the online space. However, because of the immersive nature of medical education, not all teaching and learning activities can be delivered online. This paper outlines twelve tips using evidence-based educational practices and a student-centred approach. The twelve tips presented and discussed in this paper can help medical educators to transition to online learning and maintain the integrity of their subjects. They can also promote student self-regulation, help develop graduate attributes, and generally enhance learning experiences during pandemic social distancing. Finally, these tips can be used to rethink medical education in the post-pandemic era.</text>

                <text>Para algunos teóricos que se ocupan de los asuntos ético-medioambientales, como Singer y Taylor, la propuesta de “reencantamiento de la naturaleza” no parece ser una condición sine qua non para el desarrollo de un principio ético que sirva de fundamento a una ética del medioambiente. En otras palabras, es posible defender una ética del respeto a la naturaleza sin necesidad de sacralizar el mundo natural. El objetivo del presente artículo es examinar, entonces, la validez de la tesis de la ecología profunda que sostiene precisamente lo contrario. Según Capra, uno de sus más destacados defensores, la nueva ecología se debe convertir en una forma de religión que siga los pasos de las grandes tradiciones espirituales del mundo. Mostraré que, lejos de resolver la cuestión del respeto a la vida, la propuesta de la ecología profunda crea más problemas de los que resuelve, al no permitir una defensa coherente de los valores medioambientales que ella dice defender, pues no es posible afirmar que los ecosistemas tengan derechos sobre la base de que la vida, en general, es un proceso mental o espiritual. Insistir en el carácter sacro de la vida tendría como consecuencia indeseada para la ecología profunda, una defensa dogmática de su propuesta ética que impediría la revisión histórica de ciertos valores medioambientales a la luz del desarrollo técnico-científico, y la recaída en una ética heterónoma, de corte religioso, que defiende ciertos valores de manera absoluta sin tener en cuenta la autonomía y los intereses de las personas.</text>

                <text>El conocimiento de las rapaces nocturnas en México es limitado; su historia natural, ecología y distribución geográfica son poco conocidas. En el ámbito estatal, existen pocos estudios que mencionan el estado del conocimiento y la distribución de las rapaces nocturnas a una escala espacial fina. Reportamos los resultados de la compilación de registros geográficos históricos (1865 a 2010) y actuales (2011) de rapaces nocturnas en el estado de Hidalgo. En total, reunimos 310 registros pertenecientes a 18 especies. El búho café (Ciccaba virgata) fue la especie que presentó el mayor número de registros (73). La ecorregión con mayor número de especies fue Bosques de Coníferas y Encinos de la Sierra Madre Oriental. Los tipos de vegetación con mayor número de especies de rapaces nocturnas fueron los bosques de pino y bosques de encino. Nuestro análisis indica que el 93% de los registros se han llevado a cabo entre 1996 y 2011, y que se ha puesto mayor esfuerzo de muestreo hacia el norte y centro de la entidad, presentándose falta de información en el oeste, sur y sureste del estado. Este estudio presenta un panorama general sobre el estado del conocimiento que se tiene de la distribución de las rapaces nocturnas en Hidalgo. Esta información puede ser usada en planes de conservación futuros dirigidos a este grupo de aves en el estado.</text>

Estrategias para la empatÃ­a ecolÃ³gica y la transiciÃ³n hacia sociedades sostenibles indaga el papel de la Ã©tica, de las artes visuales y de la literatura en el proceso de transformaciÃ³n necesario para establecer modelos culturales mÃ¡s eco-compatibles. En efecto, la crisis ecolÃ³gica y social que vivimos plantea unos interrogantes profundos que nos obligan a repensarnos como seres humanos y como sociedad. Si bien existen significativos avances tecnocientÃ­ficos en el Ã¡mbito de la eficiencia energÃ©tica o de la restauraciÃ³n ecosistÃ©mica, consideramos que para contrarrestar las poderosas inercias desarrollistas que caracterizan el paradigma actual es preciso potenciar un cambio de cosmovisiÃ³n general de las sociedades, incluyendo su imaginario colectivo. En este sentido, las humanidades pueden cumplir un papel relevante en forjar nuevos valores e imaginar otras formas de convivencia social.  La presente comunicaciÃ³n recoge algunas de las propuestas presentadas en el primer seminario de investigaciÃ³n vinculado al ya mencionado proyecto I+D+i que tuvo lugar en la Universitat PolitÃ¨cnica de ValÃ¨ncia en noviembre de 2016. En concreto, se exploran diferentes mÃ©todos de investigaciÃ³n desde las humanidades para abordar la dimensiÃ³n global y local de la transiciÃ³n a la sostenibilidad. En primer lugar, se plantea un enfoque interdisciplinar para el estudio de fenÃ³menos de escala planetaria, como la crisis energÃ©tica y climÃ¡tica; junto a ello, se proponen talleres creativos vinculados a iniciativas ecolÃ³gicas ciudadanas para conectar la investigaciÃ³n acadÃ©mica a los conocimientos locales. Finalmente, se evalÃºa la influencia y el potencial transformador de proyectos de creaciÃ³n artÃ­stica y vinculados a una nociÃ³n ampliada de site specific y a procesos de creaciÃ³n colaborativos en diÃ¡logo con las comunidades humanas e incluso con los elementos biÃ³ticos y abiÃ³ticos del ecosistema.</text>

                <text>Nuestra inteligencia colectiva y con ella nuestro posicionamiento â€œglocalâ€ dependen estrechamente de la operaciÃ³n a gran escala de los media existentes en las redes (motores de bÃºsqueda, redes sociales, Wikis etc.). El origen digital de tales medios, y su dependencia de las ciencias de la computaciÃ³n las hace adoptar formas distintivas en relaciÃ³n especÃ­fica con el diseÃ±o de software. Dada esta situaciÃ³n, es importante seÃ±alar la condiciÃ³n limitada, particular a nuestro contacto fenomenolÃ³gico y cognitivo con las infraestructuras de red que lo soportan.  El presente trabajo trata de resumir una investigaciÃ³n personal sobre la visualidad en las redes, que tiene por objetivo proveer de contexto teÃ³rico a una prÃ³xima experimentaciÃ³n artÃ­stica en el Ã¡mbito de los nuevos medios. Ã‰sta, Ã³rbita alrededor de una serie de cuestiones que surgen en relaciÃ³n con la nociÃ³n de â€œinterfaz cibernÃ©ticaâ€, entendida como la parte visible de todo un complejo infraestructural.  Se destacan cuatro principales focos de incidencia: 1. ValoraciÃ³n de la estructura en capas de abstracciÃ³n funcional, propias de la gestiÃ³n mediada: arquitectura, protocolos y algoritmos que componen la â€œvidaâ€ tecno-material de la red. 2. La doble acepciÃ³n de â€œcolectividadâ€ en las redes: la generaciÃ³n de contenidos por parte de usuarios, y su oscilaciÃ³n entre lo procomÃºn y la recolecciÃ³n de datos. 3. AtenciÃ³n al tÃ©rmino acuÃ±ado por James Bridle: â€œNew Aestheticsâ€, y la iniciativa de seÃ±alar la creciente autonomÃ­a de lo digital en su vocaciÃ³n de referir lo real desde sus propios tÃ©rminos. Circunstancia puesta en relaciÃ³n con las inquietudes de la sociologÃ­a contemporÃ¡nea por considerar la implicaciÃ³n de los agentes no-humanos en las dinÃ¡micas sociales propias de la ecologÃ­a on-line. 4. Impacto sobre casos concretos: prÃ¡cticas artÃ­sticas contemporÃ¡neas sujetas al contexto digital desde sus estrategias formales, sea en complicidad, o en actitud de resistencia en un ejercicio de contra-diseÃ±o.</text>

                <text>Sustainable commuting (SC) usually refers to environmentally friendly travel modes, such as public transport (bus, tram, subway, light rail), walking, cycling, and carpooling. The double aim of the paper is to summarize relevant prior results in commuting from a social approach, and to provide new, international empirical evidence on carpooling as a specific mode of sustainable commuting. The literature shows that certain socio-demographic characteristics clearly affect the use of non-motorized alternatives, and compared to driving, well-being is greater for those using active travel or public transport. Additionally, this paper analyzes the behavior of carpooling for commuting, using ordinary least squares (OLS) models, which have been estimated from the Multinational Time Use Study (MTUS) for the following countries: Bulgaria, Canada, Spain, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Results indicate that carpooling for commuting is nothabitual for workers, as less than 25% of the total time from/to work by car is done with others on board. With respect to the role of the socio-demographic characteristics of individuals, our evidence indicates that age, gender, education, being native, and household composition may have a cross-country, consistent relationship with carpooling participation. Given that socializing is the main reason for carpooling, in the current COVID-19 pandemic, carpooling may be decreasing and, consequently, initiatives have been launched to show that carpooling is a necessary way to avoid crowded modes of transport. Thus, the development of high-occupancy-vehicle (HOV) lanes by local authorities can increase carpooling, and draw attention to the economic and environmental benefits of carpooling for potential users.</text>

                <text>The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all social spaces, conditioning our daily routines, including those at work. All professions have been affected by stressful situations and anxiety in the proximity’s face of death generated by the pandemic. In this context, some professionals have emerged as essential, as social workers, acting in extreme situations in the face of increased demands and social uncertainty arising from the health crisis. The present study aimed to determine the levels of anxiety about death among social workers in Spain. For this purpose, an ad hoc questionnaire was designed, taking the Collett and Lester Fear of Death Scale as a reference (n = 304). The exploitation of the data was carried out from a quantitative perspective. First, a descriptive analysis was performed. Then, binary logistic regressions were carried out on the general scale. The dependent variable in all of them was the risk of suffering death anxiety to the set of its subscales. The main research results show high values of this anxiety in social workers concerning the general value of the scale—and the subscales—and the point of view of state and process. The highest values were Fear of Death of Others (81.6%) and Fear of the Process of Dying of Others (78.3%). Regarding the binary logistic regressions applied, predictor variables were identified in all of them, but the following stand out: Lack of personal protection equipment and Need psychological or psychiatric support. In addition, being a woman increases the risk of suffering Fear of the Dying Process of others.</text>
