                <text>Se describe al país bajo un enfoque socio-económico tanto de la población en general como  de la rural y, en particular, de las características zootécnicas de las Unidades Productivas bovinos carne. Aunado a la proyección en al aumento de la población humana y su demanda  alimenticia, se enfatiza un escenario cuestionable sobre el deterioro en la calidad de vida rural, acentuado por un impacto negativo en el  ambiente. En contraste, se cuestiona la adopción de políticas públicas del sector, enfocadas  en atender la seguridad alimentaria con base en  importaciones, su impacto negativo en la producción nacional y el menoscabo en la soberanía  alimentaria. En contraste con la visión y objetivos oficiales de la SAGARPA, para el 2030,  se señalan proyecciones tentativas de producción-consumo del sector como resultado del ejercicio llevado a cabo en el presente taller; incluyendo escenarios de consumo privativo a sectores de la población con ingresos económicos  altos, como una de las consecuencias originadas de la bursatilización de los alimentos, bajo  un marco económico capitalista dominado por  el libre mercado.</text>

                <text>Este trabalho objetivou analisar o processo de masculinização da população rural nos diferentes sistemas agrários do Rio Grande do Sul, buscando interpretar suas eventuais particularidades e diferentes configurações. Para tanto, utilizaram-se os dados do Censo Demográfico de 1950 e da Contagem Populacional 2007 do IBGE, que foram sistematizados e submetidos à análise estatística. Foram calculadas as razões de sexo da população rural e, no caso de 2007, para quatro faixas etárias. Estas razões foram agrupadas por sistema agrário (Campanha, Serra do Sudeste, Depressão Central, Litoral Norte, Litoral Sul, Colônias Velhas, Campos de Cima da Serra, Colônias Novas e Planalto) para aplicação do teste de Kruskal-Wallis. De forma complementar, ainda foi calculada a razão de sexo do Rio Grande do Sul em 1960, 1970, 1980, 1991, 2000 e 2010. Verificou-se que o processo de masculinização rural, que vem se desenvolvendo lentamente no Estado, apresenta comportamentos diferenciados conforme as regiões. De forma geral, as regiões pecuaristas são as que apresentam as maiores proporções de homens, enquanto aquelas caracterizadas pela agricultura familiar e pelos sistemas produtivos intensivos possuem as menores proporções. As regiões Depressão Central e Planalto, onde a produção mecanizada de soja e arroz é representativa, assumiram, em 2007, uma posição intermediária entre as altas razões de sexo das regiões pecuaristas e os baixos valores das Colônias, onde a agricultura familiar é característica. Entende-se que a intensidade do processo de masculinização rural possa estar relacionada a aspectos dos diferentes sistemas agrários, como a importância socioeconômica da agricultura familiar, ou ainda a intensificação dos principais sistemas de produção.</text>

Foram também verificados os níveis de infestação em diferentes espécies de gramíneas perenes de verão. A maior ocorrência de adultos e massas de espuma foi observada no período de outubro a abril, havendo correlação positiva significativa entre a flutuação populacional de adultos e massas de espuma com a temperatura média mínima. Os maiores números de massa de espuma foram encontrados em Paspalum notatum e Hemarthria altissima cultivar Flórida.</text>

                <text>A espécie Ecdytolopha aurantiana (Lima, 1927) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) trata-se de praga potencial para a cultura dos citros no Estado de Santa Catarina. Sua ocorrência já foi observada em alguns municípios da região oeste catarinense, caso de Chapecó, Palmitos e Pinhalzinho, atacando praticamente todas as variedades de laranja. A praga é conhecida como bicho-furão porque as lagartinhas, recém-emergidas do ovo, furam os frutos e aí se desenvolvem, causando queda prematura e apodrecimento deles. Altas infestações podem causar até 50% de perdas de frutos. Recentemente foi desenvolvido um método de monitoramento da praga, através do uso de armadilhas de feromônios, que permite tomar uma decisão mais racional no caso de controle químico, ou seja, apenas é recomendado pulverizar quando forem capturados seis ou mais machos/armadilha/semana. Ainda como medida de controle, recomenda-se apanhar os frutos atacados das árvores e do chão e enterrá-los para que não haja reinfestação pelos adultos.</text>

                <text>A presença da mosca-do-figo, Zaprionus indianus Gupta, 1970 (Diptera: Drosophilidae), foi registrada pela primeira vez no Brasil em 1999 no Estado de São Paulo. No ano de 2001, foi relatada atacando frutos de espécies exóticas e nativas na Região Litorânea do Estado de Santa Catarina, e no mês de abril de 2002 foi encontrada atacando frutos de figo na Região Oeste Catarinense. Acredita-se que a rápida dispersão da praga pelas diferentes regiões do País deu-se, principalmente, através da comercialização de frutos in natura. Seu potencial de dano é bastante grande, podendo causar quebra de até 80% da produção, se não for controlada. O seu ciclo biológico  (ovo–adulto) é bastante rápido, ou seja, menor que 20 dias. As fêmeas realizam a postura no ostíolo do fruto (cavidade pistilar). Após a eclosão as larvas penetram no interior dos frutos onde se desenvolvem, causando dano a eles. Uma medida bastante simples e eficaz de controle é colocar na região do ostíolo, do fruto ainda verde, um adesivo para evitar que as fêmeas realizem a postura</text>

                <text>O objetivo deste trabalho foi desenvolver um método de criação da espécie Lonomia obliqua Walker, 1855 (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae), em condições de laboratório, visando a extração do veneno para a fabricação do soro antilonômico e estudar seu ciclo biológico. A pesquisa foi realizada no Laboratório de Fitossanidade da Epagri/Centro de Pesquisa para Agricultura Familiar – Cepaf –, em Chapecó, SC. A sala de criação foi mantida com temperatura de 25 ± 2oC, umidade relativa de 60 ± 10% e fotofase de 14 horas. Para tanto, foram confeccionadas gaiolas especiais para acompanhamento da fase adulta e larval do inseto. Verificou-se que a metodologia de criação foi satisfatória e segura para manipulação em laboratório. Durante o desenvolvimento larval a lagarta apresentou seis ínstares e o ciclo biológico (ovo-adulto) foi de 139,5 dias.</text>

                <text>As moscas-das-frutas são consideradas as p1incipais pragas da fruticultura no Brasil. Estes insetos reduzem a produção dos pomares e a qualidade das frntas, dificultando ou impedindo a expmtaçào de frutas in. natura. A flutuação populacional destas moscas foi acompanhada no período de outubro de 1999 a setembro de 2001, em dois pomares de laranjeiras da cultivar Valência situados nos municípios de Águas de Chapecó e Chapecó, SC. Para tanto, foram utilizados frascos 'caça-moscas' com vinagre de vinho tinto a 25% como atrativo alimentar. As amostras foram coletadas semanalmente e transportadas para o Laboratório de Fitossanidadc do Centro de Pesquisa para Agricultura Familiar - Cepaf - da Epagri, para identificação e contagem dos insetos. A captura de moscas totalizou 5.914 espécimes, sendo 5.706 do gênero Anastrepha (99% A fraterculus) e 208 indivíduos de Ceratitís capitata, com picos popuh!cionais ocorrendo no final do verão e no inverno. Os resultados das análises estatísticas de correlação e regressão polinomial entre as médias mensais de moscas capturadas e os dados médios mensais de temperatw·a, insolação, precipitação pluviométrica, umidade relativa do ar e velocidade dos ventos não foram satisfatórios para explicar as variações populacionais destes insetos. O manejo das moscas-das-frutas preconiza o seu monitoramento populacional e a adoção de práticas integradas capazes de manter baixas suas populações.</text>

(Oleaceae) – é uma essência florestal exótica de origem chinesa bastante utilizada como planta ornamental em áreas urbanas de cidades da Região Sul do Brasil. Diversos percevejos pertencentes à família Pentatomidae, insetos vulgarmente conhecidos pelos nomes de “fede-fede” ou “maria-fedida”, pelo fato de liberarem odores desagradáveis ao serem molestados, são encontrados se alimentando nesta planta (1). No final do outono de 2002 foi constatada elevada infestação de ninfas e adultos do percevejo Dinocoris gibbus (Dallas) (Hemiptera, Pentatomidae) (Figura 1) em plantas de ligustro existentes na sede do município de São José do Cedro, SC.</text>

                <text>As lesmas são pragas agrícolas e transmitem o parasita humano Angiostrongylus costaricensis. As lesmas Sarasinula linguaeformis, Phyllocaulis variegatus, Deroceras spp. e Limax maximus ocorrem no Oeste do Estado de Santa Catarina. Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo estudar a parasitose e fornecer informações para o manejo integrado destas pragas. A doença se caracterizou como sendo uma infecção assintomática, de baixa morbidade e com cura espontânea em menos de um ano. No laboratório, a S. linguaeformis alcançou a fase reprodutiva com 179 ± 11 dias, realizou posturas a cada 20 dias, com média de 49,2 ± 7,2 ovos, que incubaram em 16 ± 0,5 dias e apresentaram viabilidade de 98,9%. Esta lesma não apresentou preferência alimentar por plântulas de sorgo, milho, mandioca, alho, tomate e por mudas de diversas essências florestais. Cartap (250g/ha) e sulfato de cobre (2%) apresentaram efeito repelente às lesmas, e as iscas tóxicas à base de metaldeído e tiodicarbe e iscas caseiras, formuladas com 3% a 5% de ácido bórico, são recomendadas no controle destes moluscos.</text>
