                <text>To date, there has been relatively little published research on the mental health impacts of COVID-19 for the general public at the beginning of the U.S.’ experience of the pandemic, or the factors associated with stress, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic growth during this time. The current study provides a longitudinal examination of the predictors of self-reported stress, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic growth for U.S. residents between April and May, 2020, including the influence of demographic, psychosocial, and behavioral factors on these outcomes. The findings indicate that, generally, the early months of the U.S. COVID-19 experience were characterized by a modest negative impact on mental health. Younger adults, people with pre-existing health conditions, and those experiencing greater perceived risk, higher levels of rumination, higher levels of co-rumination, greater social strain, or less social support reported worse mental health. Positive mental health was associated with the adoption of coping strategies, especially those that were forward-looking, and with greater adherence to national health-protection guidelines. The findings are discussed with regard to the current status of health-protective measures and mental health in the U.S., especially as these impact future management of the on-going pandemic.</text>

                <text>The novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) shows a wide spectrum of clinical presentations, severity, and fatality rates. The reason older patients and males show increased risk of severe disease and death remains uncertain. Sex hormones, such as estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone, might be implicated in the age-dependent and sex-specific severity of COVID-19. High testosterone levels could upregulate transmembrane serine protease 2 (TMPRSS2), facilitating the entry of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) into host cells via angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2). Data from patients with prostate cancer treated with androgen-deprivation therapy seem to confirm this hypothesis. Clinical studies on TMPRSS2 inhibitors, such as camostat, nafamostat, and bromhexine, are ongoing. Antiandrogens, such as bicalutamide and enzalutamide, are also under investigation. Conversely, other studies suggest that the immune modulating properties of androgens could protect from the unfavorable cytokine storm, and that low testosterone levels might be associated with a worse prognosis in patients with COVID-19. Some evidence also supports the notion that estrogens and progesterone might exert a protective effect on females, through direct antiviral activity or immune-mediated mechanisms, thus explaining the higher COVID-19 severity in post-menopausal women. In this perspective, we discuss the available evidence on sex hormones and hormone therapy in patients infected with SARS-CoV-2, and we highlight the possible implications for cancer patients, who can receive hormonal therapies during their treatment plans.</text>

                <text>The coronavirus pandemic raging worldwide since December 2019 is caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which invades human cells via the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor. Although it has already been identified in many organs, ACE2 expression remains largely unknown in the head and neck (HN) sphere. Thus, this study aims to investigate its protein expression in several sites of the upper aerodigestive tract in order to highlight potential routes of infection. We compared ACE2 immunohistochemical expression between 70 paraffin-embedded specimens with two different antibodies and reported the quantified expression in each histological location. Surprisingly, we obtained different results depending on the antibody, an absence of labeling having been observed with a monoclonal antibody raised against the extracellular domain, whereas the polyclonal, against the cytoplasmic part of the protein, revealed enriched ACE2 expression, particularly in sinuses, vocal cords, salivary glands and oral cavity epithelial cells. The interpretation of these discordant results has brought several exciting lines of reflection. In conclusion, this study provides possible routes of entry for the SARS-CoV-2 in HN region and, above all, has led us to encourage caution when studying the ACE2 expression which is currently at the center of all attention.</text>

                <text>The current study aims to identify the diversity of digital processing of Islamic motifs and some of the folk symbols, as a source of enriching the decorative painting through remote learning, via social sites as e-mail, Whatsapp, or Facebook using Photoshop as a technical processing program by which plastic solutions can be developed for students' work that had been produced in specific sizes and manifolds. This study has used the descriptive-analytical and quasi-experimental methods of research with the intention of producing artwork represented in the decorative paintings through remote learning. . The teaching treatment of synchronous and asynchronous through e learning across specific educational platforms at Minia University (http://courses.minia.edu.eg). As well as, communicating with the sample students through social media platforms such as, e-mail, Facebook, and WhatsApp. . Remote learning has proved its success in this technical experiment, and it has also proved its worth as a replacement for the suspension of on-campus learning due to COVID-19 that has put a halt in how the entire world functions. This study has also reached several results, and the most prominent is that most of our sample students have produced decorative paintings with creative and plastic solutions. The results also showed the importance and the effectiveness of remote learning on the practical teachings and applied courses. Finally, these findings were discussed and as a result, a set of recommendations have been suggested. The most prominent of which is, paying attention to the importance of the quality of the infrastructure and the training program that enhance and update our curricula constantly, promote and strengthen the idea of remote learning amongst higher education students in order to raise their training competence. Last but not least, is to take an interest in training university professors on such methods of education to contribute to the distinguished applications inside and outside the university campus.</text>

                <text>The respiratory tract and its resident immune cells face daily exposure to stress, both from without and from within. Inhaled pathogens, including severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, and toxins from pollution trigger a cellular defence system that reduces protein synthesis to minimise viral replication or the accumulation of misfolded proteins. Simultaneously, a gene expression programme enhances antioxidant and protein folding machineries in the lung. Four kinases (PERK, PKR, GCN2 and HRI) sense a diverse range of stresses to trigger this “integrated stress response”. Here we review recent advances identifying the integrated stress response as a critical pathway in the pathogenesis of pulmonary diseases, including pneumonias, thoracic malignancy, pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension. Understanding the integrated stress response provides novel targets for the development of therapies.</text>

                <text>Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) causes severe respiratory illness in humans; the second-largest and most deadly outbreak to date occurred in Saudi Arabia. The dromedary camel is considered a possible host of the virus and also to act as a reservoir, transmitting the virus to humans. Here, we studied evolutionary relationships for 31 complete genomes of betacoronaviruses, including eight newly sequenced MERS-CoV genomes isolated from dromedary camels in Saudi Arabia. Through bioinformatics tools, we also used available sequences and 3D structure of MERS-CoV spike glycoprotein to predict MERS-CoV epitopes and assess antibody binding affinity. Phylogenetic analysis showed the eight new sequences have close relationships with existing strains detected in camels and humans in Arabian Gulf countries. The 2019-nCov strain appears to have higher homology to both bat coronavirus and SARS-CoV than to MERS-CoV strains. The spike protein tree exhibited clustering of MERS-CoV sequences similar to the complete genome tree, except for one sequence from Qatar (KF961222). B cell epitope analysis determined that the MERS-CoV spike protein has 24 total discontinuous regions from which just six epitopes were selected with score values of &gt;80%. Our results suggest that the virus circulates by way of camels crossing the borders of Arabian Gulf countries. This study contributes to finding more effective vaccines in order to provide long-term protection against MERS-CoV and identifying neutralizing antibodies.</text>

                <text>This study applied a qualitative approach to investigate the underlying influences on consumers’ green food consumption from the intention generation phase to intention execution phase in the perspectives of purchase intention and the intention–behaviour gap (IBG). Additionally, the impact of the “Coronavirus Disease 2019” (COVID-19) pandemic on consumers’ green food purchases was explored. Research data were derived from semi-structured in-depth interviews with 28 consumers and analyzed using grounded theory. The findings identified factors that influenced intentions and the IBG in the process of consumers’ green food purchases. Specifically, these findings reported that health consciousness, perceived attributes, environmental consciousness, social influence, family structure, and enjoyable shopping experiences were identified as major drivers for generating consumers’ green food purchase intentions. High prices of green food, unavailability issues, mistrust issues, and limited knowledge were factors triggering the gap between green food purchase intentions and behaviours. In addition, the results revealed that the COVID-19 crisis increased consumers’ green food purchase intentions, whereas the IBG widens as a result of issues of unavailability, price, and panic. These findings will help stakeholders build future policy and suitable strategies to better promote green food consumption in the Chinese context.</text>

                <text>This review updates current knowledge regarding the risk of viral infections, including COVID-19, in patients treated with cyclosporine. We also shortly refer to bacterial infections and parasitic infestations in patients treated with cyclosporin. Cyclosporine is an immunosuppressive drug, which is widely used in medicine, including in the treatment of autoimmune skin diseases in dermatology, rheumatology, ophthalmology and nephrology, and in organ transplantation. A usual concern associated with immunosuppressive treatment is the potential risk of infections. Interestingly, several data indicate a relatively low risk of infections, especially viral infections, in patients receiving cyclosporine. It was shown that cyclosporine exerts an inhibitory effect on the replication of some viruses, or may have a potentially beneficial effect on the disease course in infections. These include hepatitis C, influenza virus, rotavirus, human immunodeficiency virus and coronavirus infections. Available data indicate that cyclosporine may have a beneficial effect on COVID-19, which is caused by the coronavirus SARS-COV2.</text>

Determinar si existen disparidades asociadas a la estratificación socioeconómica, la etnicidad, los servicios médicos y la región geográfica en la progresión de la enfermedad por coronavirus (COVID-19) en adultos mexicanos infectados por SARS-CoV-2. Método. Se analizaron los datos registrados por la Dirección General de Epidemiología de la Secretaría de Salud del Gobierno Federal de México respecto de los casos confirmados de infección por SARS-CoV-2. El análisis se limitó a los datos de adultos de 20 años o más registrados hasta el 10 de julio del 2020 (n=234 870). Los indicadores de severidad de la COVID-19 fueron hospitalización, desarrollo de neumonía, requerimiento de intubación o ingreso a la unidad de cuidados intensivos, y muerte. Se estimaron diferencias de acuerdo con el nivel de marginación municipal, la pertenencia a un grupo indígena, la región geográfica y el sector de los servicios. A partir de modelos de regresión multinivel se estimaron razones de prevalencias (RP). Resultados. Las personas que residían en municipios con mayor marginación tuvieron mayor riesgo de presentar los cuatro indicadores de formas severas de COVID-19 (RP=1,05 o 1,06). Las personas indígenas tuvieron mayor riesgo de neumonía (RP=1,22), hospitalización (RP=1,14) y muerte (RP=1,23). Entre los casos atendidos en servicios privados fue menor el riesgo de muerte (RP=0,40), pero mayor el uso de intubación o ingreso a la unidad de cuidados intensivos (RP=4,45). Conclusiones. Las tendencias observadas indican que los efectos de la COVID-19 no solo se deben a las características biológicas del SARS-CoV-2, sino también a los recursos (o falta de ellos) para enfrentarlo, los cuales están distribuidos por procesos sociales.</text>

                <text>The first case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was reported in the Eastern Province (Qatif City) on March 2, 2020 (Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health, https://www.moh.gov.sa/Pages/Default.aspx). Since then, a cluster of cases continued to expand and spread throughout the kingdom. Several procedures were implemented to contain the pandemic. By May 8, 2020, the Saudi Center for Disease Prevention and Control had reported a total of 35,432 cases (https://covid19.cdc.gov.sa/daily-updates/). As of this writing, the projected peak of cases in Saudi Arabia occurred from April 24 to May 10, 2020. “Bending of the curve” will extend this curve to June and July, with a theoretically ending date of September 10, 2020 (Predictive Monitoring of COVID-19 developed by SUTD Data-Driven Innovation Lab, https://ddi.sutd.edu.sg). However, social distancing practices will remain in force until mid-2021 (Ferguson et al., Imperial College London, https://spiral.imperial.ac.uk:8443/handle/10044/1/77482). This pandemic affected every aspect of people’s lives with a significant impact on medical education and healthcare services, including breast imaging. In this article, the author lists some of the possible solutions for problems relating to patient surge once stay-at-home orders are relaxed.</text>
