<text>In order to know the effect of 60Co gamma irradiation, in the sunflower crop, were irradiated achenesin the Transelektro LGI-01 in the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Nucleares. The data wasevaluated under a completely randomized design, where the treatments were 0, 100, 200, 300, 400,500, 600, 700, 800 and 900 Gy and four repetitions (10x4) = 40 experimental units. The responsevariables were: plant height, root length and volume, dry biomass. The results indicated thatgermination and sprouting decreased as the radiation increased, adjusting these to a quadratic model.Plant height, length, root volume and dry biomass decreased at high doses. From this investigation itwas concluded, that doses of 100 and 200 Gy, have a stimulating effect on plant height and root length, being an important agent, to induce genetic variability in sunflower.</text>

<text>Juglans regia L. (walnut) is a tree of significant economic importance, usually cultivated for its seed used in the food market, and for its wood used in the furniture industry. The aim of this work was to develop regression models to predict crown parameters for walnut trees using a terrestrial laser scanner. A set of 30 trees was selected and the total height, crown height and crown diameter were measured in the field. The trees were also measured by a laser scanner and algorithms were applied to compute the crown volume, crown diameter, total and crown height. Linear regression models were calculated to estimate walnut tree parameters from TLS data. Good results were obtained with values of R2 between 0.90 and 0.98. In addition, to analyze whether coarser point cloud densities might affect the results, the point clouds for all trees were subsampled using different point densities: points every 0.005 m, 0.01 m, 0.05 m, 0.1 m, 0.25 m, 0.5 m, 1 m, and 2 m. New regression models were calculated to estimate field parameters. For total height and crown volume good estimations were obtained from TLS parameters derived for all subsampled point cloud (0.005 m – 2 m).</text>

<text>The research consisted in evaluating four biostimulants and three substrates for the propagation of Vallea stipularis L.f. in greenhouse conditions. The biostimulants corresponded to: plant hormone rooting (B1), agrohormones 10-10-10 (B2), ESPOCH biostimulant (B3) and Gron Gibb (B4). The substrates consisted of: 50% black soil + 25% peat + 25% sand (S1); 50% black soil + 25% peat + 25% humus (S2) and 50% peat + 50% humus (S3). For the study, it was used a randomized complete design (RCD) with factorial arrangement, it was determined the coefficient of variation and the Tukey test at 5% for the separation of means. The application of the biostimulants in the substrates was done at the time of planting. According to the results obtained, the best biostimulants corresponded to B1 (plant hormone rooting), applied in the seeds for 15 minutes, with which the highest emergency percentage was obtained (70.96%); with biostimulant B2 (agrohormones 10-10-10), applied for five minutes it was obtained 70.67% and with B3 (Gron Gibb) 70.37%. The best substrate for emergence of plants was: 50% peat + 50% humus) with 73.67% of emergence, where the highest plant height and root length were achieved, instead, the ESPOCH biostimulant (microoganisms) reported a 67, 11% emergency.</text>

The research objective was to design hydroorganic crop systems to produce vegetables in small areas, to contribute to the security food of urban population and the use of the solid residues. An alternative system was design for urban agricultural of vegetable with recycled material. To describe the source nutritional response of Coriandrum sativum were evaluating three treatments (organic leached, leached organic supplemented, common nutritional solution). The response of plant was characterized by growth and plants development.

Obtaining images with cameras on unmanned aerial vehicles is currently an able solution for this task. The processing and analysis of aerial images would provide more information when we browse on a crop. This paper shows the development of a vision system to detect the direction of the lines of wheat crops using aerial images based on texture analysis oriented, three strategies are proposed to tackle different situations in crop images: little topsoil, weed zones, variability of the illumination, image scaling. The tests were conducted with an own repository of images with highly satisfactory results. Also, the results indicate a response in real time, while the detection of the crop rows direction is keep at high level of efficiency.</text>
