Las levaduras han estado asociadas al hombre desde épocas muy tempranas. Entre estas se destacan las fermentadoras debido a su importancia en la industria de los alimentos. Las implicancias biotecnológicas de estas levaduras han sido extensamente estudiadas, sin embargo la distribución en la naturaleza y la ecología de estas no se encuentra igualmente documentada. El presente estudio se realizó en el Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi (Noroeste Patagónico, Argentina) sobre Cyttaria hariotii, hongo ascomicético parásito de árboles del género Nothofagus. Mediante el uso de un medio selectivo con etanol 8 % se obtuvieron 72 aislamientos. Los mismos fueron ordenados en cinco grupos en base a pruebas morfológicas y fisiológicas, tres de los cuales fueron asignados a los géneros Saccharomyces, Pichia y Kloeckera. El grupo Saccharomyces presentó el mayor número de aislamientos y se subdividió en tres subgrupos, dos de ellos presentan alta afinidad con S. bayanus y/ó S. uvarum. La totalidad de los aislamientos fueron psicrotolerantes y la temperatura máxima de crecimiento osciló entre 35 y 37 _C. El presente trabajo contribuye al conocimiento de la biodiversidad de levaduras de la Patagonia y representa el primer aislamiento masivo de levaduras sacaromicéticas en ambientes naturales de la región.Yeasts have been associated with mankind from early ages. Among these, fermentative yeasts played the most relevant role, due to its importance in the food industry. The biotechnological implications of these yeasts have been extensively studied. However there is a lack of information about its distribution in nature and ecology. In this study samples of Cyttaria hariotii, ascomycete fungus parasite of trees of the genus Nothofagus, were collected in Nahuel Huapi National Park (Northwestern Patagonia, Argentina). 72 isolates were obtained using a selective culture medium with 8% ethanol. Identification of the isolates was based on morphological and physiological tests, and then sorted into five groups. Three groups were assigned to the genera Saccharomyces, Pichia and Kloeckera respectively. The Saccharomyces group was the prevailing one, and was sorted into three subgroups. Two of them were related to S. bayanus and /or S. uvarum. All the isolates were psychrotolerant and the maximum growth temperature ranged between 35 and 37 _C. This work contributes to the knowledge of the biodiversity of yeasts in the region and represents the first massive isolation of Saccharomyces yeasts in natural environments of Patagonia.

RESUMEN: La agricultura ibérica, como la sociedad o el arte, se explica dentro de un contexto mediterráneo determinado. Seguramente le debe mucho a la agricultura cartaginesa (o fenicia en general), pero de ella sabemos poco; en cambio, puede tener un punto de referencia útil en las obras de Jenofonte yTeofrasto. Se plantea asimismo la necesidad de estudiar las condiciones climatobotánicas de un territorio para conocer sus recursos agrícolas; se habla de los cultivos y de las herramientas, haciendo hincapié en la trascendencia del empleo del arado con rejas de hierro. Finalmente, se someten a discusión algunas ideas sobre la condición social de la mano de obra, la propiedad de la tierra, y desajustes en el nicho ecológico, mirando de reojo a la península italiana.ABSTRACT: Iberian agriculture, the same as society or art, takes its real meaning in a specific Mediterranean context. It surely owes much to the legacy of Carthaginian (or Phoenician, in general) agriculture, about which we have little knowledge; instead, we do find a useful reference point in Xenophon and Theophrast's works. The need also arises to study the climatic-botanical conditions of a territory in order to know its agricultural resources; we refer to cultivations and tools focusing specially on how important the use of the iron ploughshare turned out to be. Finally, we deal with some issues related to labour force social conditions, land property and niche imbalances, always looking at the Italian Peninsula out of the corner of our eye.

A este respecto es importante considerar que Guatemala como país megadiverso, tiene en la parte de la agro biodiversidad muchas especies útiles en la alimentación, algunas deellas como el maíz y el frijol de amplio uso. Introducción: El cambio de la cobertura original de suelo y la erosión consecuente, son problemas comunes en la cuenca del río Conchos, con un impacto directo para más de 1.3 millones de habitantes. El problema se acentúa con la tala desmedida, los incendios, la sobreexplotación y la contaminación del agua superficial y subterránea. Así mismo, acorde a los pronósticos de cambio climático, se prevé una pérdida de biodiversidad y modificación del régimen hidrológico en esta importante cuenca productora de agua. Método Se evaluó la cobertura reflejada por diferentes usos de suelo mediante el software ERDAS Imagine V 2014; a su vez, la pérdida potencial de suelos se analizó espacialmente, mediante la Ecuación Universal de Pérdida de Suelo (EUPS) y la cuantificación de escurrimiento, de acuerdo con la norma oficial mexicana NOM-011-CNA-2000. Resultados y discusión: Se determinó reducción en la cubierta forestal y la zona de pastizal, detectándose un notorio incremento de superficie en zonas agrícolas y matorrales. La erosión hídrica mostró una tendencia fluctuante, donde la clase más severa de pérdida fue de 0.02 y 0.008 tm ha-1 para los años de 1980 y 2000, y aumento de 0.01 para 2018. Los volúmenes de escurrimiento máximo para 1980, fueron de 348.38 M m3 con reducción de 137.36 M m3 para el 2000, y con aumento significativo para 2018 de 743.08 M m3. Conclusiones: El uso de información climática procedente de datos asimilados, permitió detectar espacialmente los procesos de pérdida de suelo y volúmenes de escurrimiento superficial, siendo el año 2018 el más susceptible a erosión de suelo, con 1689.15 hectáreas (ha) afectadas, y con un volumen de escurrimiento medio de 379.17 M m3. De acuerdo con el hidrograma en ciertos años, las altas precipitaciones no precisan grandes volúmenes, debido a que son lecturas in situ; sin embargo, a través del presente estudio se detectaron espacialmente las zonas afectadas, donde el cambio de uso de suelo y las precipitaciones sí modifican las condiciones, lo que permitirá un mejor control y conservación de los recursos naturales.

Entre agosto 2003-marzo 2005 capturamos 16 409 individuos de los cuales 86.7% pertenecieron a miembros de la familia Mormoopidae, 7.4% a Phyllostomidae, 5.8% a N. mexicanus y 0.1% a B. plicata. Los números poblacionales de las especies varían notablemente a lo largo del año y entre temporadas. Segregación sexual durante la época reproductiva sucede en Pteronotus y N. mexicanus. Los mormópidos y N. mexicanus ocuparon las partes más profundas de la cueva donde imperan temperaturas >25.8°C y humedad >99%. Los filostómidos ocuparon las secciones intermedias con temperaturas de 23.2-28.3°C y humedad de 74-89.9%; B. plicata y G. sylvestris ocuparon una cámara con temperatura de 23.2°C y humedad del 84.2%. Los mormópidos y N. mexicanus exhibieron un patrón monoéstrico estacional, G. soricina presentó un patrón poliéstrico bimodal estacional y M. waterhousii exhibió un patrón reproductivo continuo. Nuestros resultados indican un reemplazamiento estacional entre varias especies, así como movimientos estacionales hacia otras cuevas. La selección de los sitios de percha esta ligada a las condiciones microclimáticas del refugio y la fisiología de las especies. La reproducción de las especies insectívoras esta influida por la precipitación que determina la disponibilidad del alimento.Almost half of bat species that occur in Mexico use caves as permanent or temporal roosts. However, the ecological studies about cave bat communities are scarce. In this work we studied the population dynamics, roost selection and reproductive patterns of some bats present in El Salitre Cave, Colima, Mexico. We carried out monthly samplings between August 2003-March 2005 using a harp trap for bats capture, we took their bio- logical data and marked some of them with plastic rings. We also explored the cave to locate bat colonies and register microclimatic conditions in each cave section. We captured a total of 16 409 bats of which 31% were Mormoops megalophylla, 24.5% Pteronotus personatus, 23% P. davyi, 8.2% P. parnellii, 5.8% Natalus mexicanus and 5.3% Glossophaga soricina. Macrotus waterhousii, G. morenoi, Desmodus rotundus, Balantiopteryx plicata, and Glyphonycteris sylvestris represented only 2.2% of the captures. Some bat species used the cave as a permanent day roost while others as a seasonal one, and their population size varied markedly along the year and between rainy and dry seasons. Most bat population peaks were linked with their reproductive periods. The Pteronotus species and N. mexicanus exhibited sexual segregation during the breeding season. The mormoopids and N. mexicanus occupied deeper parts of the cave with temperatures >25.8°C and relative humidity >99%. The phyllostomids occupied intermediate sections where the ambient was less hot and humid, with temperatures of 23.2-28.3°C and humidity of 74-89.9%. Some individuals of B. plicata and G. sylvestris were seen occasionally occupying one chamber near the entrance two, where temperature and humidity were of 23.2°C and 84.2%, respectively. The mormoopids and N. mexicanus showed a pattern of seasonal monoestry, synchronized with rainy season. Glossophaga soricina had a pattern of bimodal seasonal poliestry, with one reproductive peak to early of dry season and another to last of this season. Macrotus waterhousii did not exhibit a seasonal pattern, with parturitions occurring throughout the year. Our results indicate a seasonal replacement between several species as well as seasonal movements to other caves. The data indicate that the carrying capacity of the cave is mainly determined by the availability of roosting sites. The selection of roosting sites is linked to the close relationship between microclimatic conditions and the species physiological characteristics. The reproduction of mormoopids and N. mexicanus was mostly influenced by rainfall which determinates food availability.

The liquid biofertilizers have been used with relative success in the recovery of banana planta- tions that have low productivity, after long time cultivation. However, there is little information available relat- ed to cultural practices that aim to increase the life of bananeiral. The objective of the present study was to compare areas degraded plantations that have received the application of biofertilizer for a period of two and five years and the area where the culture did not receive this type of application. The study was conducted in year of 2011 in the municipality of Chapada do Apodi Quixeré - CE. It was evaluated the effects of time of ap- plication on soil chemical attribute, biometric measurements of the plant, dry mass production, extraction and export of N, P and K, and the contribution of plant biomass. The experimental design was completely random- ized with three replications. The biofertilizer increased the content of organic matter, exchangeable Ca and K in all soil depths. The levels of disposable P and exchangeable Mg were higher only in the surface layer. The bio- fertilizer contributed to the increase of pH, the CE and Na soil. Plants that received application of the product were higher, with greater weight and number of leaves. The area received more application time showed higher productivity, accumulated 20% more dry mass, extracted more N, P and K soil, more nutrients exported through harvesting and landed larger amount of plant biomass.

El olivo ha formado parte del campo andaluz desde la antigüedad, aunque su implantación como monocultivo, en provincias como Jaén, culmina en la segunda mitad del siglo XX. El carácter estructural que le confiere dicha condición en el agro comunitario pareciera estar vinculado indisolublemente a una “aparente” inmovilidad en su cultivo y fundamentalmente en su recolección, donde un universo familiar de asimetrías genéricas y generacionales tiende a perpetuarse, tanto en las cuadrillas familiares “a destajo” como en las tradicionales. El trabajo ha cambiado poco, en última instancia por una cuestión de ecologías políticas, y la mujer sigue siendo, en gran medida, la encargada de recoger, de rodillas, el fruto que cae del árbol. En este trabajo nos proponemos reflexionar el binomio mujer-olivar, de manera sincrónica y diacrónica, cruzando dicho análisis con la praxis cotidiana de algunas de sus protagonistas, esbozos de historias de vida de mujeres que trabajan en las tierras de Jaén.

Passive radars exploit the signal transmitted by other systems, known as opportunity illuminators (OIs), instead of using their own transmitter. Due to its almost total invulnerability to natural disasters or physical attacks, satellite OIs are of special interest. In this line, a feasibility study of Earth Observation Synthetic Aperture Radar (EO SAR) systems as OIs is carried out taking into consideration signal waveform, availability, bistatic geometry, instrumented coverage area and incident power density. A case study based on the use of PAZ, the first Spanish EO SAR, is presented. PAZ transmitted waveform, operation modes, orbit characteristics and antenna and transmitter parameters are analyzed to estimate potential coverages and resolutions. The study concludes that, due to its working in on-demand operating mode, passive radars based on PAZ-type illuminators can be proposed as complementing tools during the sensor commissioning phase, for system maintenance and for improving its performance by providing additional information about the area of interest and/or increasing the data updating speed, exploiting other sensors during the time PAZ is not available.

Resumo: Este estudo verificou a adequação do artigo 14 da lei nº 11.947/2009, os tipos de produtos comercializados e os preços pagos por hortifrútis pela alimentação escolar aos agricultores familiares no estado do Paraná. Foi realizada a coleta dos tipos de produtos e os respectivos preços no site do Fundo Nacional de Desenvolvimento da Educação. Para comparação de preços, foram utilizados os dados da Central de Abastecimento de Curitiba (PR). Como resultados, mais da metade dos municípios (51%) ainda não cumprem a lei, os outros 49% atingiram 30% ou mais. Os grupos de frutas e hortaliças demandaram maiores quantidades de recursos. A maioria dos preços pagos é maior que os praticados na Ceasa, podendo sugerir a prática de um valor que permita levar em conta gastos com logística e outros encargos. Porém, ainda existem vários produtos com preços inferiores, alguns deles comercializados com bastante frequência, sugerindo possíveis prejuízos ao agricultor com esses alimentos. Ressalta-se a importância deste mercado para o desenvolvimento rural e, para tanto, os preços pagos aos agricultores familiares devem ser atrativos e justos, sem prejudicar a racionalização do gasto público. Chegar neste equilíbrio é um desafio às Entidades Executoras, mas primordial para o sucesso desta política.
