Abstract: Different genetic transformation alternatives were tested in “Santa Isabel” cultivar pea, in order to study the factors that affect the process. The methods used were infiltration with vacuum, direct infection of the explants, pollen transformation and ovary microinjection. The hystochemical test of gus expression was chosen as analysis method in the determination of positive transformants. Blue spots in the plant tissue were detected, with the used methodologies, which indicates transient expression of the transgene in the explants utilized. The obtained results suggest that the genetic transformation in pea genotypes planted in Colombia can be used for the introduction of genes of interest as support to genetic improvement. Key words: genotypes, gus expressions, plant breeding.</text>

<text>The hulls and the presscake, the two most important residues of castor processing and industrialization, are traditionally used as organic fertlizer. This study aimed to evaluate these residues as organic fertilizers in vases in order to optimize doses and promove the best use of their chemical properties. A trial was run in a randomized block design with four replications and eight treatments: four doses of castor presscake (0,5; 1,0; 1,5 e 2,0 t/ha) and four doses of castor hulls (0,5; 1,0; 1,5 e 2,0 t/ha) with addition of nitrogen fertilizer. Seeds of CSRN 393 castor bean line were planted in 22 liters vases. At 60 days after emergence, values of height, stem diameter, leaf area and total dry weight were taken. Castor bean presscake was showed to be a good organic fertilizer, mainly due to its high N content, however castor hulls was showed to be inappropriate as organic fertilizerdue to its high C/N ratio that cause nitrogen deficiency.</text>

<text>The aim of this research was getting information about thirty experimental hybrids of maize, all of them multiple crosses from commercial hybrids as parents. Hybrids were sown field on three locations: El Llanito, San Antonio and Marquez which belong to Irapuato, Gto., Mexico. Lattice 7 x 7 were used as experimental design and combined analysis and stability parameters models for comparing varieties through environments. Besides, seven characters were evaluated: plant height, ear height, ear length, percent of blow over, percent of double ear and grain yield. Results indicated the following: Response all maize genotypes is not similar across over environments and locations amongst themselves. In Fact multiple crosses as Leon x Tigre, Lince x Leon, 30G54 x Leon, 30G45 x Tigre y Aspros-948 x Tigre were stables genotypes for seven characters above all grain yield, however Lince x Tigre y DK-2002 x Leon had good response for not favourable conditions and favourable conditions. Commercial hybrids as Oso, Aspros-900, DK-2020, DK-2000, Bida-33, Bida-55 and DK-2002 result out standing for grain yield and were: 11.12 t/ha, 10.81 t/ha, 10.63 t/ha, 10.11 t/ha, 9.78 t/ha, 9.77 t/ha y 9.47 t/ha, whereas DK-2020 was defined as hybrid has good response for not favourables environments. The most important it indicates that DK-2002 x Leon hybrid was defined as good as the best hybrid: Oso, Aspros-900 and DK-2020. Finally, farmers can use this technology to produce seeds beginning with commercial hybrids seeds.

<text>The urban green spaces assume an important role in improving the environment and offering spaces for leisure and recreation, as well as contributing to urban sustainability. This research aims to study the contributions of environmental perception in public green areas, as squares and urban parks. The influence these areas have on their surroundings’ residents and goers was investigated. In order to achieve this, a research of studies on environmental perception in urban green areas was carried out in the Innovation Portal website. The criteria used for the selection of articles was published in national journals from the years 2009 to 2013.Among the findings, it was sought to determine the importance of these areas for the population that sees in them an essentially social function. According to the articles published, the positive aspects of green areas in the vision of the regulars are related to physical activity, leisure, education and promotion of environmental awareness. Regarding the negative aspects, one can notice concern about the safety issue in urban green areas, which may be associated to less frequent use of these public spaces.</text>
