                <text>El artículo ofrece una reflexión en torno al problema ecológico a la luz de la teología de la creación, que debe ser abordado en el campo de la Antropología teológica. Para ello, la autora realiza una aproximación a la noción de creación desde el punto de vista filosófico, teológico y mitológico. Para luego llegar a un acercamiento bíblico, con el objetivo de identificar los elementos que de6nen la comprensión de la creación y rescatar, desde la Antropología teológica, algunas pistas para entender que el problema ecológico es de relación con todo lo creado. En este sentido, es necesario recuperar concepciones más integrales de lo humano y caer en la cuenta de que somos parte de la creación y responsables de potenciar el compromiso de transformación por un mundo nuevo, en el que se pueda afirmar que la creación y la ecología evidencian la fe y la vida en una historia que se construye liberando y liberándonos.</text>

                <text>El pistache (Pistacia vera L.) requiere de veranos prolongados y secos para su adecuado desarrollo y productividad. Estas condiciones son características de las zonas áridas y semiáridas. Aunque también lo son los inviernos cálidos, los cuales son más constantes debido, en parte, al cambio climático. Bajo estas condiciones los requerimientos de frío no son satisfechos por esta especie para su brotación satisfactoria. Por lo que el uso de uniformizadores de la brotación o compensadores de frío constituye una de las alternativas para resolver este problema. Este experimento se llevó a cabo con el objetivo de evaluar los efectos de cianamida de hidrógeno sobre la brotación en pistache (Pistacia vera L.) desarrollado en una región árida con insuficientes horas frío (¿7.2 oC). Yemas en dormancia sobre ramas de uno a cinco años de edad fueron tratadas en febrero 20 del 2006 y 2007 con 0, 25.5 y 51.0 g·L-1 de H2CN2 [equivalente a 0, 2.5 y 5.0 % (v/v) de H2CN2]. Cianamida de hidrógeno adelantó e incrementó la brotación en ramas de 1 a 5 años de edad. La mayor brotación se observó cuando se aplicó H2CN2 al 5.0 %, sin causar fitotoxicidad. Cianamida de hidrógeno aplicada al 5.0 % ¿ 30 días antes de inicios de brotación puede incrementar la brotación y compensar las horas frío cuando el pistache se desarrolla en ambientes con inviernos benignos.</text>

                <text>We are focusing on three things for every patient in the hospital with COVID-19, namely dexamethasone, remdesivir and enhanced anticoagulation protocols as this had shown improved mortality. However, the bleeding risk in these patients has not been taken into consideration. In our ICU setting at Rochester General hospital, we have seen too many cases with gastrointestinal bleeding and hemoptysis in COVID-19 patients. In this case, we report bleeding related to central access removal related to coagulation inhibitors that lead to airway compression. The aim of this case is to keep bleeding tendency of COVID-19 patients on the radar and to delineate that it has clear severe consequences just as clotting.</text>

                <text>El calentamiento del Océano Índico resulta ser el mayor contribuyente en línea con la tendencia general de la temperatura media mundial de la superficie del mar, al tiempo que evidencia  signos de sobrepesca, que parecen estar aumentando.  Se han vertido en él alrededor de 5-6 millones de toneladas de petróleo -alrededor del 40% del derrame total de petróleo en las aguas del mundo-, mientras que las presiones humanas (población, infraestructura urbana, etc.) ponen en peligro cada vez más los ecosistemas marinos subyacentes, que sustentan la pesca de la región y otras amenazas incluyen un aumento acelerado del nivel del mar en él, que representa una amenaza inminente para los estados costeros.  Teniendo en cuenta lo mencionado, esta nota aborda el tema de la región del Océano Índico / IOR, una de las ubicaciones estratégicas relacionadas con la paz, la seguridad y el comercio, desde la perspectiva de su papel con respecto al cambio climático y las acciones y reacciones de los países a su alrededor.  Se concluye que la contaminación marina es un problema grave, que causa el deterioro de los recursos en el Océano Índico y aunque los países de la zona invierten una gran cantidad de dinero para combatirlo, ello no resuelve la falta de conciencia entre las masas. Los esfuerzos de las organizaciones regionales, aunque son notables, parecen superficiales y carecen de un impacto significativo, mientras que también se observa la necesidad de innovación en los métodos de implementación para reducir / reciclar los desechos, minimizar los derrames de petróleo y monitorear la vida acuática.</text>

                <text>Vaccine hesitancy is a well researched area with implications for both public health and the health of children and their families The factors leading to vaccine hesitancy are often complex and involve fear of the healthcare system and the process of vaccine development, cultural viewpoints and experiences. Pediatric patients often rely on parental guidance and decision making, and this may result in a lack of immunization for some children. The availability of the COVID 19 vaccine has been widely anticipated, yet not all individuals will seek the vaccine. Once vaccines are available for children under the age of 16 years, this long-standing pediatric management issue may again emerge and impact public health. The clinical trial efficacy and safety data for children and adolescents less than 16 years of age are not yet available. A traditional approach is to discuss the concerns of the parent in relationship to presentation and review of American Association of Pediatrics (AAP) and CDC guidelines in the framework of medical and scientific explanations. This includes the presentation of efficacy and safety data. Therefore, the use of lab-based antibody testing adds scientific evidence and emphasizes the need for vaccination against SARS CoV-2 and other pathogens. The purpose of this commentary is to propose lab-based testing as a potential adjunctive strategy in addressing this public health concern. Further study of a pediatric population is required to assess the impact of the selective use of lab-based testing in improving vaccination rates among a pediatric population.</text>

                <text>The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in many changes, including restrictions on indoor gatherings and visitation to residential aged care facilities, hospitals and certain communities. Coupled with potential restrictions imposed by health services and academic institutions, these changes may significantly impact the conduct of population health research. However, the continuance of population health research is beneficial for the provision of health services and sometimes imperative. This paper discusses the impact of COVID-19 restrictions on the conduct of population health research. This discussion unveils important ethical considerations, as well as potential impacts on recruitment methods, face-to-face data collection, data quality and validity. In addition, this paper explores potential recruitment and data collection methods that could replace face-to-face methods. The discussion is accompanied by reflections on the challenges experienced by the authors in their own research at an oral health service during the COVID-19 pandemic and alternative methods that were utilised in place of face-to-face methods. This paper concludes that, although COVID-19 presents challenges to the conduct of population health research, there is a range of alternative methods to face-to-face recruitment and data collection. These alternative methods should be considered in light of project aims to ensure data quality is not compromised.</text>

                <text>Abstract Background Rapid and effective emergency response to address health security relies on a competent and suitably trained local and international workforce. An online social media advertisement campaign was used to disseminate a REDCap survey link between October 2019 and February 2020 through field epidemiology networks. Survey questions included demographic details of participants, along with their technical background, level of formal education, topics studied during epidemiology training, and years of experience as an epidemiologist. We used Pearson Chi-squared (Chi2) to test the difference between categorical variables, and content analysis to evaluate responses to open-ended questions. Results In total, 282 people responded to the survey. Participants had a range of formal public health and epidemiology training backgrounds. Respondents applied epidemiology experience spanned almost 30 years, across 64 countries. Overall, 74% (n = 210) were alumni of Field Epidemiology Training Programs (FETP). Basic outbreak and surveillance training was well reported by respondents, however training in specialised techniques related to emergency response, communication, and leadership was less common. FETP graduates reported higher levels of formal training in all survey topics. Conclusion It is critical for the health security workforce to be well-trained and equipped with skills needed to ensure a rapid and effective response to acute public health events. Leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and specialist training in emergency response are lacking in current training models. Our study has demonstrated that applied epidemiology workforce training must evolve to remain relevant to current and future public health challenges.</text>
