                <text>Objetivos: verificar a confiabilidade do escore em um questionário de aptidão física autorrelatada (QAPA) em crianças de 6 a 11 anos, nas aulas de educação física não presenciais em 2020, durante o distanciamento social COVID-19 e identificar se há associação do escore no QAPA com níveis de aptidão cardiorrespiratória (APC) e índice de massa corporal (IMC) mensurados no ano 2019. Métodos: estudo longitudinal retrospectivo realizado no sul de Santa Catarina com crianças de 6 a 11 anos, 142 meninas e 146 meninos. Aplicou-se o QAPA em pais, responsáveis e alunos via Google Forms, ClassRoom e material impresso. O IMC e APC foram mensurados pelo protocolo PROESP-BR em 2019.  A análise foi realizada com teste t de student, qui-quadrado, alfa de Cronbach e modelos de equações estruturais (MEE). Resultados: O QAPA apresentou confiabilidade superior a 0,70 e parâmetros adequados no MEE (AIC/BIC: 149/151; SRMR: 0,0562; RMSEA: 0,074; CFMIN/DF: 2,558; CFI/TLI: 0,92/0,90). O escore QAPA em 2020 se associou com maior APC (b: 0,51; p: 0,001) e menor IMC no ano 2019 (b:-0,17; p: 0,001). Conclusão: O QAPA apresenta elevada confiabilidade e consistência se respondido pelos pais ou responsáveis (crianças de 6 a 8 anos) e por crianças de 9-11 anos. Crianças com um elevado escore no QAPA em 2020 apresentavam elevada APC e reduzido IMC em 2019. O QAPA é uma medida consistente e confiável para ser aplicada em pais, responsáveis das crianças de 6-8 anos e naqueles escolares com 9-11 anos.</text>

                <text>The ongoing pandemic of COVID-19 has forced us to consider using available drugs in the shortfall of vaccines and established treatment. Cotrimoxazole is one of the oldest drugs presently used in the prevention and treatment of opportunistic infections in the human immune deficiency virus (HIV) etc. It is a combination of two drugs Trimethoprim and Sulfamethoxazole. This cost-effective old drug is well tolerated among the population with the concomitant use of folic acid; moreover, it also looks after the secondary infections.                 <text>The COVID-19 pandemic has caused teachers and students to abandon their physical classrooms and move into emergency distance education (EDE) settings. Thus, sustaining the quality in education has become a challenge during this transitional period. Within this context, the aim of this study was to explore the impact of EDE on language skills development (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) of Turkish pre-service teachers of English as a foreign language (EFL). In this qualitative study, data were gathered from 118 pre-service EFL teachers about the advantages and disadvantages of EDE for their language skills development. Thematic analysis was used as a research design, and nine themes emerged for both advantages and disadvantages. The most important two themes for both categories are content and implementation of online courses and teacher’s role. This study pinpointed the eminence of these two themes, for if they are emphasized enough and handled efficiently, they play a huge role in developing language skills. The themes and sub-themes generated through thematic analysis showed the advantages and disadvantages of EDE for each skill in detail and also proved that EDE was most advantageous for writing skill and least advantageous for speaking skill. The participants stated that, since writing skill was constantly used for almost all homework, assignments and projects, that skill was nurtured the most. Nevertheless, speaking skill was ignored during online courses, and writing became the new mode of communication by replacing speaking. The outcome of the present study encourages preparedness for EDE against a possible second wave. Thus, the study is hoped to pave the way for anticipating issues and developing solutions for EDE contexts to preserve sustainability in higher education.</text>

                <text>Closure of all educational institutions as well as various facilities for sports and recreation, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the adoption of social movement restrictions, impaired the possibility of maintaining healthy living habits of the student population. The aim of this research was to identify changes in healthy living habits and exercise approach of sports-active female students, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to prevent possible harmful consequences on their physical fitness level. The sample of respondents were female students (n=110; 22.1±1.69 years of age), who stated that they were active members of various sports clubs during the period before the COVID-19 pandemic. A survey questionnaire was used in the study to assess a healthy lifestyle. The analysis of the obtained answers within the survey questionnaire was evaluated in relation to the percentage values of the frequencies of these answers. The results indicate that the level of regular and planned physical exercise of sports-active female students decreased by 41.7% during the COVID-19 pandemic, and that the level of their physical condition decreased by 38.2%. Changes in eating habits were recorded in 50% of female sportsactive female students, while 36.3% of them reported changes in weight gain. The largest number of sportsactive female students practiced basic exercises for body shaping, relaxation and stretching (89.2%) and strength exercises with own body weight as load intensity (82.4%). Accordingly, it is also necessary to find possible ways, in order to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining their sports and healthy living habits. This primarily refers to maintaining their healthy physical condition, which is also related to their eating habits, as well as preventing the possible occurrence of undesirable health conditions. Such different approaches may apply to all future pandemic conditions, or similar life-threatening conditions.</text>

                <text>Objective: Stressful events increase in traumatic conditions. Coronavirus is a new and serious challenge and significant public health problem, which can cause different stressors. This study has identified stressful events experienced by Iranian adults during the COVID-19 epidemic.  Method: Data on stressful events during the COVID-19 epidemic were collected online from 418 adults (mean age 37.16 years; 57.4% female and 42.6% male) using quota sampling method. Epidemic Stressful Events Checklist was applied for data collection. Data were analyzed by applying descriptive graphs and tables, the independent sample t-test, the Fisher’s F test, and post hoc Bonferroni test.  Results: The most frequent stressful event was rise in essential goods prices (84.7%); however, its perceived stress was not at the highest level. The highest severity of perceived stress was related to the death of a family member (4.83) due to COVID-19 infection, which was an event with the least occurrence, and the lowest severity of perceived stress was related to medical team performance (2.50). The results showed the severity of perceived stress is higher in women than men (t = 3.42; P value &lt; 0.01) and also in the laboring occupations compared to other occupations (F = 3.18; P value &lt; 0.05).  Conclusion: Traumatic events can lead to more serious concerns, eg., worrying about those we love, concerns about the future of our life, and about what politicians and macro planners will do to protect our lives. Moreover, traumatic events can cause concerns about food, basic needs, and lack of resources to survive.</text>

                <text>In the absence of therapeutic interventions, and a possible vaccine candidate, the spread of COVID-19 disease and associated fatalities are on the rise. The high mutation frequency in the genomic material of these viruses supports their ability to adapt to new environments, resulting in an efficient alteration in tissue tropism and host range. Therefore, the coronavirus’ health threats could be relevant for the long-term. The epidemiological data indicate that age, sex, and cardio-metabolic disease have a significant impact on the spread and severity of COVID-19. In this review, we highlight recent updates on the pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2 among men and women, including children. We also discuss the role of the cellular receptors and coreceptors used by the virus to enter host cells on differential infection among men, women, and cardio-metabolic patients.</text>
