                <text>This article analyzes the conservative narratives underlying current changes in Brazilian rural development public policies. It first presents an overview of the recognition and institutionalization of family farming and the main policies created in support of this segment. Subsequently, it discusses how a conservative narrative started to question the ability of these policies to integrate family farmers into modern agricultural markets. Focusing on how this narrative tries to legitimate a new “referential” for public action, the article analyzes the discourse on newly occurring segregation between agricultural policies for productive farmers and social policies for unproductive ones. It demonstrates how this discourse excludes family farmers from the social pact that prevailed over the past three decades and depended on the state as an actor to mediate the contradictions in the unstable coexistence of agribusiness and family-farming logics. Finally, it analyzes how rural social movements are reacting to this process.   Resumen Este artigo analisa as narrativas conservadoras que sustentam as atuais mudanças nas políticas públicas de desenvolvimento rural no Brasil. Em primeiro lugar, analisa o processo de reconhecimento e institucionalização da agricultura familiar e das principais políticas criadas para este segmento. Em seguida, discute como uma narrativa conservadora começou a questionar a capacidade destas políticas de integrar os agricultores familiares aos modernos mercados agrícolas. Discutindo como esta narrativa busca legitimar um novo referencial de ação pública, o artigo crítica uma nova segregação entre políticas agrícolas para os agricultores “produtivos” e políticas sociais para os “improdutivos”. Os resultados demonstram como este discurso exclui os agricultores familiares do pacto social que prevaleceu nas últimas três décadas e que dependeu do Estado como ator para mediar as contradições da coexistência instável entre a lógica do agronegócio e da agricultura familiar. Por fim, discute como os movimentos sociais rurais reagem a esse processo.</text>

Nesse contexto, o Núcleo de Estudos em Microbiologia Agrícola (NEMA), da Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV), tem desenvolvido atividades de extensão junto à comunidade de Viçosa e região, para o intercâmbio de experiências em pesquisa, ensino e extensão relacionadas à Microbiologia Agrícola. O presente artigo apresenta os primeiros resultados do projeto de extensão universitária desenvolvido pelo NEMA junto à Escola Família Agrícola (EFA) Puris, que adota a Pedagogia da Alternância e tem a Agroecologia como eixo norteador, visando à articulação de atividades práticas e teóricas, em tempos e espaços que se alternam entre a escola e a comunidade na qual os educandos estão inseridos. As três intervenções realizadas até o presente momento abordaram os seguintes temas: demonstração dos micro-organismos no ambiente e o papel das micorrizas; produção, comercialização e consumo de cogumelos; compostagem e produção de alimentos fermentados. No total, as atividades envolveram cerca de 65 educandos do Ensino Médio, 5 monitores da EFA e 24 acadêmicos, dentre os quais professores, técnicos, graduandos e pós-graduandos da UFV. Essas intervenções têm proporcionado um estímulo à curiosidade, antes pouco ofertada, sobre o mundo microbiano e suas aplicações, além de instigar o interesse pelo conhecimento científico e proporcionar novos desafios de ensino e extensão para os acadêmicos envolvidos.  Palavras-chave: Agricultura familiar, Microbiologia agrícola, Universidade Federal de Viçosa     The microbiology in the context of the agroecology: extension activity in the Puris Agricultural Family School  Abstract: The university extension aims to establish citizen practices in research and teaching. In this context, the “Núcleo de Estudos em Microbiologia Agrícola (NEMA)”, from Universidade Federal de Viçosa – UFV(Viçosa, Minas Gerais State, Brazil), has developed extension activities in Viçosa and region for the exchange of experiences in research, teaching and extension related to Agricultural Microbiology. This paper presents the first results of the university extension project developed by NEMA at the Puris Agricultural Family School (EFA), which adopts the Pedagogy of Alternation for articulating practical and theoretical activities, in times and spaces concatenated between the school and the community in which students are inserted. The three interventions carried out until here were related to the demonstration of microorganisms in the environment and the role of mycorrhizae, the production, marketing and consumption of mushrooms, and the composting and production of fermented foods. In total, about 65 high school students, 5 EFA’s monitors and 24 academics and staffs from UFV were involved in the activities. These interventions have provided a stimulus to the curiosity, barely offered before, about the microbial world and their applications. Also, it has instigated the interest for the scientific knowledge and enabled new teaching and extension challenges for the academics involved.                 <text>The use of cow urine can be considered an agricultural practice of low cost for farmers. Nevertheless, its efficiency on crop needs research information. The present research aimed to evaluate the effect of cow urine on the growth and yield of 'Regina 2000' lettuce, in an experiment carried out from January 13, 2006 to March 22, 2006. The experiment was set up with 12 treatments, in a split-plot design and four completely randomized blocks. The soil and leaf applications were installed in the plot. In the split-plot, cow urine was applied at different concentrations (0.00; 0.25; 0.50; 0.75; 1.00 and 1.25 %). The plot presented four rows with 1.75 m each, in 0.25 x 0.25 m spacing. The six central plants of the two central rows formed the sampled split-plot. At harvest, the following variables were evaluated: fresh (FLM) and dry (DLM) leaf mass, fresh (FSM) and dry (DSM) stem mass, stem length (SL), fresh (FRM) and dry (DRM) root mass, fresh (FHM) and dry (DHM) head mass and commercial yield (CY). The increase in cow urine concentrations increased the performance of all lettuce characteristics, except DRM, which presented reduction, and DSM and FRM, which were not affected. The highest yield was obtained with the concentration of 1.25% (17.00 t ha-1) applied to leaves and with 1.01% (14.92 t ha-1), applied to soil, corresponding, respectively to increases of 28.1% and 47.3%, in comparison to the control. Application to leaves, in comparison to application to soil, resulted in greater FLM (0.50 and 1.25%), SL (0.50; 0.75 and 1.25%), FSM and FRM (0.5%), FHM and CY (0.50 and 1.25%), but lower DSM and FRM (1.25%) and DRM (1.0 and 1.25%). The application of cow urine solution at 1.25% to leaves or 1.0% to soil is recommended for lettuce crops.A utilização da urina de vaca pode ser considerada uma prática de custo baixo para os produtores rurais. Todavia, a sua eficiência sobre as culturas carece de informações da pesquisa. Assim, objetivou-se avaliar o efeito da urina de vaca sobre o crescimento e produção da alface em experimento conduzido de 13 de janeiro de 2006 a 22 de março de 2006, com a cv. Regina 2000. O experimento foi constituído de 12 tratamentos, em esquema de parcelas subdivididas, delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com quatro repetições. Nas parcelas foram alocadas as aplicações das soluções de urina (solo e foliar) e, nas subparcelas, as concentrações (0,00; 0,25; 0,50; 0,75; 1,00 e 1,25%). A subparcela foi constituída por quatro fileiras de 1,75 m, espaçamento de 0,25 x 0,25 m e consideraram-se, como úteis, as seis plantas centrais das duas fileiras centrais. Na colheita foram avaliados a massa da matéria fresca (MFF) e seca de folhas (MSF); massa da matéria fresca (MFC) e seca de caule (MSC); comprimento de caule (CC); massa da matéria fresca (MFR) e seca de raízes (MSR); massa da matéria fresca (MFCA) e seca da cabeça (MSCA) e produtividade comercial (PROD). Exceto a MSR, que diminuiu e MSC e MFR que não foram alteradas na aplicação via foliar, as demais características avaliadas apresentaram incremento às concentrações aplicadas. Maior produtividade de cabeça foi obtida com concentrações de 1,25% (17,0 t ha-1) aplicada via foliar e de 1,01% (14,9 t ha-1) aplicada via solo correspondendo, respectivamente, a aumentos em produtividade de 28,1% e de 47,3%, comparados à testemunha. A aplicação foliar, comparada via solo, proporcionou maior MFF (0,50 e 1,25%), CC (0,50; 0,75 e 1,25%), MFC e MFR (0,5%), MFCA e PROD (0,50 e 1,25%) e menores MSC e MFR (1,25%) e MSR (1,0 e 1,25%). Sugere-se, no cultivo da alface, a aplicação das doses de solução de urina às concentrações de 1,25% via foliar ou de 1,0%, via solos.</text>

                <text>A pandemia da COVID-19, doença causada pelo novo coronavírus (SARS-CoV-2), tem sido amplamente noticiada nas manchetes de jornais e nas redes sociais, por ceifar inúmeras vidas diariamente. Causadora de caos e colapso do sistema de saúde de muitos países, tem sido um dos principais desafios que já resultou em milhares de mortes em todo o mundo e enormes impactos na economia e na educação. O objetivo do presente estudo é realizar uma Revisão Sistemática de Literatura (RSL), a partir de artigos e ensaios científicos sobre os impactos do isolamento social no aumento da violência doméstica contra a mulher, no contexto da pandemia da COVID-19, nesse primeiro semestre de 2020. A pesquisa resultou em 10 artigos e ensaios publicados desde o início do ano de 2020, colhidos na base do Google Acadêmico. Evidencia-se que a pandemia, por meio do isolamento social, apenas visibilizou questões pré-existentes como: o aumento da violência contra a mulher, os efeitos da desigualdade social e de direitos entre os gêneros. As mulheres estão ainda mais sobrecarregadas, pois trabalham no cuidado doméstico, no cuidado dos filhos, maridos, companheiros, família e comunidade, sendo também maioria na linha de frente no sistema de saúde. As mais atingidas são mulheres pobres, negras, pardas e com deficiência. Além disso, as pesquisadoras são prejudicadas em relação a sua produção acadêmica.</text>

                <text>Foi avaliada a eficácia de produtos alternativos aos agroquímicos no controle da antracnose na pós-colheita de mangas 'Ubá'. Frutos fisiologicamente maduros foram pulverizados até o completo molhamento, com suspensão de conídios de Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, na concentração de 2,5 x 10(5) conídios/mL. Após a secagem ao ar, foram pulverizados com água destilada (testemunha), tween 20 (8 mL/L de solução), Prochloraz (1,10 mL de Sportak 450 EC/L de solução), óleo de alho (10 mL/L + 8 mL/L de tween 20), óleo de amêndoa de Acrocomia aculeata + leite em pó instantâneo (LPI) (25 mL/L+ 10 g LPI/L), óleo de amêndoa de A. aculeata + tween (25 mL/L + 8 mL/L de tween 20), biofertilizante agro-mos® (100 µL/L), óleo de neen (10 mL/L + 8 mL/L de tween 20), quitosana (10 mL/L + 8 mL/L de tween 20) e biomassa cítrica (10 mL/L + 8 mL/L tween 20).O solvente utilizado foi água destilada. Avaliaram-se o período de incubação, o período latente, a perda de massa fresca, a produção de CO² e, diariamente, a severidade e incidência da doença. Os períodos mais curtos de incubação da doença foram observados nos frutos tratados com óleo de neen, água + tween e biomassa cítrica, com aproximadamente cinco dias. O óleo de amêndoa de A. aculeata + LPI e agro-mos® foram os produtos que mais retardaram o aparecimento dos sintomas, impondo à doença o período de incubação de nove dias após a inoculação do patógeno. Quanto à severidade, o óleo de amêndoa de macaúba + LPI e o Prochloraz foram os mais eficientes em conter o crescimento do patógeno até o oitavo dia após a inoculação, sendo que, logo depois, os frutos tratados com óleo de amêndoa de A. aculeata + LPI se igualaram àqueles tratados com a maioria dos demais produtos. Os frutos tratados com óleo de amêndoa de A. aculeata + LPI e óleo de amêndoa de A. aculeata + tween manifestaram as estruturas do patógeno apenas após 13 e 14 dias de avaliação, respectivamente. As maiores perdas de massa foram observadas nos frutos tratados com óleo de alho e biomassa cítrica, com 8,31% e 8,44%, respectivamente, no dia 14. Quanto à produção de CO², o óleo de amêndoa de A. aculeata + LPI e óleo de amêndoa de A. aculeata + tween mantiveram a taxa respiratória crescente, sendo que, no dia 12 ocorreu um leve aumento na respiração. Dessa forma, conclui-se que, além do Prochloraz, o óleo de amêndoa de A. aculeata + LPI e óleo de amêndoa de A. aculeata + tween têm bom potencial para controle da antracnose em manga 'Ubá'.</text>

                <text>A consorciação de culturas é um sistema de cultivo que tem como objetivos principais alcançar alta produtividade por unidade de área e promover a sustentabilidade do sistema de produção. Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar a viabilidade agronômica e a rentabilidade econômica do consórcio do taro (Colocasia esculenta) com feijão-vagem (Phaseolus vulgaris) de hábito de crescimento indeterminado. O experimento foi conduzido a campo, na horta do Departamento de Fitotecnia da Universidade Federal de Viçosa, no período de outubro/2011 a junho/2012. Constou de sete tratamentos resultantes de três cultivos consorciados do taro com feijão-vagem, estabelecidos aos 0, 21 e 42 dias após o plantio do taro, e de quatro monoculturas, sendo três do feijão-vagem, estabelecidas nas mesmas épocas dos cultivos consorciados com o taro, e de uma do taro. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições. Como material propagativo, utilizou-se o clone 'Japonês' e o cultivar de feijão-vagem 'Estrela'. A determinação dos custos de produção dos cultivos foi realizada com base no custo operacional de produção. Todos os sistemas consorciados foram agronomicamente viáveis, por apresentar Uso Eficiente da Terra (UET) acima de um. Dentre esses destacam-se os consórcios do feijão-vagem com o taro implementados a 0 e 21 dias após o plantio do taro, por proporcionarem maior renda líquida e vantagem monetária corrigida.</text>

                <text>O crescimento do mercado de alimentos livres de agrotóxicos vem gerando interesse de agricultores em sistemas orgânicos de produção. Os adeptos deste sistema promovem mudanças substanciais de seus métodos de produção, adquirindo conhecimentos técnicos e empíricos associados. São necessários, portanto, estudos para avaliar o sistema orgânico neste contexto, comparando-o com o modo de produção convencional, no que diz respeito aos aspectos socioeconômicos e ambientais. Este estudo teve como objetivo o diagnóstico regional desses aspectos em sistemas orgânicos e convencionais do distrito de Sussuanha, município de Guaraciaba do Norte, e do município de São Benedito, no estado do Ceará. Foram entrevistados sete agricultores orgânicos e 21 agricultores convencionais, caracterizando o meio social e as mudanças de qualidade de vida ocorridas com o tempo. As interações agricultor-meio ambiente, no sistema de produção orgânico, geraram melhoria da qualidade de vida das famílias. No sistema convencional, caracterizado pelo uso intensivo de agrotóxicos e grande dependência de adubos químicos, constatou-se que prevalece o interesse em obter a máxima produção sem preocupação com o ambiente. Esta condição se reflete no contato contínuo com agrotóxicos, além das margens de lucros restritivas, o que pode comprometer o uso do solo pelas futuras gerações, pois há uma inerente redução da fertilidade natural dos solos cultivados sob este sistema.</text>
