                <text>Contrariando muitas análises de economistas e pensadores “globalizados”, a agricultura familiar vem persistindo e se diversificando. Esse estudo procura explicar as relações da agricultura familiar com o mercado, sua resistência e reprodução no meio rural. Regiões como o Sudoeste do Paraná, Oeste de Santa Catarina e o Noroeste do Rio Grande do Sul são caracterizadas pela predominância de propriedades rurais familiares. Nessas regiões, a produção leiteira é predominante, mas desenvolve-se de forma heterogênea no que diz respeito aos sistemas de produção e às estratégias de comercialização. Neste artigo, realizou-se uma revisão bibliográfica acerca do tema, bem como, um estudo de caso em duas propriedades familiares que têm o leite como uma de suas principais estratégias de reprodução social e que comercializam seus produtos diretamente ao mercado consumidor, no mercado local e garantindo melhores rentabilidades com a atividade.</text>

                <text>O Esterco líquido de suínos (ELS) pode ser usado como fertilizante orgânico, mas seu uso incorreto pode contaminar o solo e os mananciais de água. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da adição de nutrientes ao solo, através do ELS, sobre a produção de matéria seca (MS) e o acúmulo de nutrientes de uma pastagem de aveia branca+azevém (Avena sativa + Lolium multiflorum). Um experimento foi realizado de 2004 a 2006, no campo experimental da UTFPR, em Pato Branco, Paraná, Brasil. O solo era um Latossolo Vermelho distroférrico. Diferentes doses (0, 20, 40, 80 e 120m³ ha-1) de ELS foram aplicadas na pastagem, aos 20 e 61 dias após a emergência (DAE) da pastagem, em 2004, e aos 30 e 67DAE, em 2005. Outras duas aplicações foram realizadas nas culturas de verão, milho em 2004 e soja em 2005, respectivamente. A maior produção de MS foi obtida com a dose de 120m³ ha-1 de ELS, tanto no primeiro, quanto no segundo ano. A absorção de nutrientes pelas plantas respondeu de forma linear à aplicação de esterco líquido de suínos.The pig slurry can be used as an organic fertilizer but its improper use can contaminate water and soil. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of nutrient addition to the soil on pasture oat + ryegrass (Avena sativa + Lolium multiflorum) dry matter production and nutrient uptake. One experiment was carried out from 2004 to 2006, installed in the experimental farm of UTFPR in Pato Branco, Paraná State, Brazil. The soil was an Oxisol (Latossolo Vermelho distroférrico, Brazil systems). Different rates (0, 20, 40, 80 and 120m³ ha-1) of pig slurry were applied in the pasture. The pig slurry applications were performed 20 and 61 days after emergence (DAE) of pasture, in 2004, and 30 and 67DAE of pasture in 2005. Another two applications were performed in summer crops, corn in 2004 and soybean in 2005. In both years the rate 120m³ ha-1 of pig slurry resulted in the highest dry matter production.                 <text>Sabendo-se que o feijão e o milho possuem fundamental importância, principalmente na região Nordeste do Brasil, o objetivo com a pesquisa, foi avaliar a produção de milho e feijão macassar cultivados em sistema de consorciação, submetidos à adubação orgânica, com biofertilizantes (produzidos de maneira anaeróbia), nas condições edafoclimáticas do município de Catolé do Rocha/PB. O experimento foi conduzido no Centro de Ciências Humanas e Agrárias, da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba, e o delineamento adotado foi em blocos casualizados, com 15 tratamentos, num esquema fatorial 5x3, com 4 repetições, onde cada parcela continha 2 plantas, resultando num total de 120 plantas de milho e 120 de feijão, totalizando 240 unidades experimentais. As variáveis analisadas no milho foram: número de espigas/planta, número de grãos/espiga e peso de grãos/planta; e no feijão foram: número de vagens/planta, número de grãos/vagem e peso de grãos/planta. Ao término do trabalho, conclui-se que a adubação com biofertilizante a base de soro de queijo, água e açúcar, apresentou maior eficiência, influenciando significativa e positivamente a produção do milho, porém a cultura não foi afetada pelas doses avaliadas. Já a produção do feijão macassar, consorciado com milho, não foi afetada pelo uso dos biofertilizantes.</text>

                <text>A rotação de culturas é uma prática essencial, no cultivo de hortaliças, para controle de pragas e doenças e tem sido usada, também, visando ao aproveitamento dos resíduos de adubação. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar o efeito residual da adubação orgânica, aplicada na cultura do quiabo, sobre o rendimento de espigas de milho-verde em cultivo subsequente. O quiabeiro foi plantado com duas populações de plantas e adubado com biofertilizante líquido de suínos, nas doses: 0, 6, 12, 24, e 48 m³ ha-1. Após a retirada dos restos culturais do quiabeiro, sementes de milho híbrido AG 1051 e da variedade UFVM 100 foram semeadas, em linhas duplas, no espaçamento de 1,0 m x 0,40 m e 0,25 m entre plantas após o desbaste. O delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados com quatro repetições, no esquema fatorial 2 x 5, sendo dois cultivares de milho e resíduo de cinco doses de biofertilizante. O resíduo da adubação com biofertilizante de suínos em quiabeiro não foi suficiente para nutrir as plantas de milho-verde; consequentemente obteve-se baixa produtividade comercial. O plantio do milho-verde em sucessão ao quiabeiro, visando à rotação de culturas e aproveitamento de resíduos orgânicos, é promissor, sendo necessária adubação complementar de cobertura, para suprimento de N e K. O híbrido AG 1051 apresentou maior altura de plantas, número e produtividade de espigas comerciais despalhadas e peso médio de espigas comerciais. A variedade UFVM100 apresentou maior teor de P e K nas folhas, número de espigas com palha, número e produtividade de espigas não comerciais despalhadas.</text>

                <text>O experimento foi desenvolvido em abrigo protegido no período de 1 de maio a 31 de julho de 2008, no município de Areia, estado da Paraíba, PB, Brasil, com objetivo de estudar os efeitos da salinidade da água de irrigação sobre o comportamento inicial de mudas de maracujazeiro amarelo em substrato não salino com e sem biofertilizante bovino. Os tratamentos foram distribuídos no delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com três repetições e doze plantas por parcela, em arranjo fatorial 5 x 2 x 2, referente aos níveis de salinidade da água de irrigação: 0,5; 1,0; 2,0; 3,0 e 4,0 dS m-1, no solo sem e com biofertilizante bovino em duas idades das plantas (25 e 65 dias após a emergência das plântulas). Foram avaliados o crescimento das mudas e a condutividade elétrica do solo ao final do experimento. O biofertilizante foi aplicado, uma única vez, após diluído em água de baixa salinidade na razão de 1:1, dois dias antes da semeadura, ao nível de 10% do volume dos substratos. O aumento da salinidade das águas inibiu o crescimento em altura das mudas, área foliar e comprimento radicular, mas, em qualquer circunstância, com menor intensidade nos tratamentos com o biofertilizante. O aumento da condutividade elétrica da água de irrigação elevou a salinidade do solo, independentemente da adição do biofertilizante.The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse from May 1 to July 31, 2008, in Areia county, Paraiba State, PB, Brazil, in order to evaluate the effects of irrigation water salinity on initial growth of the passionfruit seedlings in non-saline substrate with and without bovine biofertilizer. The treatments were distributed in a completely randomized design, with three replications and twelve plants per plots, in a factorial arrangement 5 x 2 x 2, corresponding the former to the levels of salinity in the irrigation water: 0.5; 1.0; 2.0; 3.0 and 4.0 dS m-1, in soils with and without bovine biofertilizer applied at two moments (25 and 65 days after seedling emergence). The growth of the seedlings and the soil electrical conductivity were evaluated at the end of the experiment. The biofertilizer was diluted in a low saline water at a 1:1 ratio and was applied once two days before sowing, corresponding to 10% of the substrates volume. The increase in water salinity inhibited the growth in height of plants, leaf area and root length, but always to a lesser extent in the treatments with bovine biofertilizer. The increase in electrical conductivity of the irrigation water elevated the soil salinity, independently of the addition of biofertilizer.</text>

                <text>Com o objetivo de avaliar o desenvolvimento de mudas de alface que foram desenvolvidas em diferentes substratos e sob efeito de adubação foliar usando biofertilizantes, foi realizado o experimento em casa de vegetação da UFERSA. Utilizou-se o delineamento de blocos ao acaso com 4 repetições. Os tratamentos foram resultados de um fatorial 4 x 5 envolvendo tipos de substrato (composto orgânico, Gold Mix 11, areia lavada e húmus + areia lavada 1:1) e fertilizante foliar (organo-mineral comercial Fertamin, testemunha e três tipos de biofertilizantes). Foram feitas adubações foliares nas mudas, aos oito e aos 15 dias após a semeadura. O fertilizante organo-mineral comercial Fertamin apresentou os melhores resultados para massa seca da parte aérea, massa seca da raiz e número de folhas. Dentre os biofertilizantes, aquele à base de esterco de curral fresco, cinzas, leite e caldo de cana apresentou os menores valores para essas mesmas características avaliadas. O composto orgânico foi o que apresentou os maiores valores para todas as características avaliadas, exceto para comprimento da raiz.The development of lettuce plantlets was evaluated, employing different substrate types and applying foliar biofertilization. The research was done in a green house in Mossoró, Rio Grande do Norte State, Brazil. The experimental design was of randomized blocks with four replications. The treatments were composed of the interaction substract type (composed organic, Golden Mix 11, washed sand and humus + washed sand 1:1) and fertilizer (the commercial organo-mineral Fertamin, the witness and tree biofertilizer types). Plantlets were foliar fertilized 8 and 15 days after sowing date. Plantlets treated with Fertamim presented the best results in the dry matter of the aerial part, dry matter of roots and number of leaves. Among the biofertilizers, the one based on cattle manure, leached ash, milk and broth of sugar cane presented the lesser values for the same evaluated characteristics. The organic substract presented the highest values for all the appraised characteristics, except for root length.</text>

                <text>RESUMO A batata doce é uma olerícola adaptada a climas tropicais e possui baixa tolerância a temperaturas amenas, o que reduz o tempo disponível para o cultivo na região Sul do Brasil. Portanto, técnicas que visem a otimização do processo, como a produção de mudas em bandejas em ambiente protegido, aliado à aplicação de bioestimulantes, torna-se uma alternativa eficiente para reduzir o ciclo da cultura. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar a influência do uso do extrato da alga Ascophyllum nodosum na produção de mudas de batata doce em bandejas em ambiente protegido. Utilizou-se o delineamento de blocos casualizados com parcela subdividida, com cinco concentrações do extrato de alga (0,0%; 0,5%; 1,0%; 1,5%; e 2,0%) e três segmentos da rama da batata doce (basal, intermediária e apical), com 9 repetições. Foram avaliados aspectos de propagação vegetativa e massa fresca e seca dos órgãos da planta. Observaram-se resultados positivos para todas as características avaliadas, quando utilizado o segmento apical da rama, para a maioria das concentrações de extrato de alga aplicadas. Com relação às concentrações utilizadas, praticamente todas as características corresponderam ao incremento nas doses, independente do segmento da rama utilizado. Atribui-se à presença de citocininas e auxinas e outros componentes químicos presentes no extrato de A. nodosum e na própria estrutura da planta, os efeitos benéficos observados. Os melhores resultados foram encontrados no segmento apical combinado com a concentração de 1% do produto. O extrato de alga marinha otimizou a formação de mudas de batata doce em bandejas, contribuindo para o aumento de vigor e consequente precocidade das mesmas.</text>

                <text>Neste trabalho objetivou-se avaliar a sobrevivência das estacas e a produção de matéria seca na fase de cultivo de mudas das espécies forrageiras missioneira gigante (Axonopus catharinensis), amendoim forrageiro (Arachis pintoi) e maku (Lotus uliginosus cv. Maku). No sistema hidropônico de leito flutuante com solução nutritiva à base de biofertilizante ou adubo solúvel. O delineamento experimental adotado foi o de blocos ao acaso em esquema fatorial 3 x 2, sendo três espécies forrageiras e duas soluções nutritivas. As espécies não apresentaram diferença quanto à sobrevivência (p = 0,225), independentemente do tipo de fertilizante (p = 0,92). No entanto, quando se quantificou a produção de MS planta-1 proporcionada por cada uma dessas espécies, o maku (p = 0,001) obteve as maiores quantidades (47,18 g), enquanto o amendoim forrageiro (19,90 g) e a missioneira gigante (16,81 g) foram semelhantes entre si (p = 0,227), tendo o mesmo ocorrido entre os fertilizantes (p = 0,559). Deste modo, as três espécies possuem condições semelhantes de sobrevivência, independentemente da concentração de nutrientes da solução nutritiva, com o maku proporcionando a maior produção de MS planta-1.The aim of this work was to evaluate the survival and dry matter production during the seedling culture phase of three forage species: Axonopus catharinensis, forage peanut (Arachis pintoi), and greater lotus (Lotus uliginosus cv. Maku), in a floating hydroponic system using biofertilizer or soluble fertilizer. The experimental design adopted was randomized blocks in a 3 x 2 factorial scheme, with three forage species and two fertilizers. There was no difference between species with regard to survival (p = 0.225), regardless of the fertilizer used (p = 0.92). However, when dry matter production was considered, Maku (P=0,001) showed greater weight (47.18 g), while there was no difference (p = 0.227) in weight between Arachis pintoi (19.90 g) and Axonopus catharinensis (16.81 g) or between fertilizers (p = 0.559). Thus, all three forage species have similar survival conditions, regardless of nutrient concentration of the fertilizer, and Maku had greater dry matter production.</text>

O composto constituído de esterco de aves influencia sobremaneira, na melhoria da qualidade de mudas de gliricídia, e com esse comportamento, os compostos orgânicos confeccionados a partir de estercos animais, pode ser indicado como um fertilizante orgânico de qualidade superior para a produção de mudas dessa espécie</text>
