Los resultados mostraron tendencias diferentes entre especies y montañas. Sin embargo, estimando valores promedio de IAC para el transecto, se observa que en el año 1935 hubo una reducción de crecimiento para ambas especies. El Oyamel mostró mayor variación en los IAC. This fungi form symbiosis with plant roots improving plant nutrition, as well as producing glomalin, a glycoprotein that has been associated with soil aggregation stability. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate, in an Ultisol from Central-South Chile, the effect of different doses of compost on some soil characteristics at the end of the third year of a crop sequence including wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), and grassland (Lolium multiflorum Lam. associated with Trifolium repens L.). Studied soil characteristics included chemical (pH, available-P, organic C), biological (C and N biomass, AMF spore number, root colonization percentage, mycelium length, and glomalin content), as well as physical parameters (water holding capacity [WHC], and water stable aggregates [WSA]). Results showed that, in general, compost application increased soil pH, mycorrizal roots, mycelium length, glomalin levels, and WSA. Significant relationships were found between C and N biomass, C biomass and WSA, C biomass and glomalin, WSA and WHC, among others. Results suggest that compost application to this type of soil is a feasible option as a fertilizer substitute, and a way to avoid soil erosion by small local farmers involved in organic agriculture.La aplicación de compost al suelo, práctica habitual en predios de pequeños agricultores de la región centro-sur de Chile, produce efectos positivos en sus propiedades y promueve la presencia y actividad de los hongos micorrícicos arbusculares (AMF). Estos hongos forman simbiosis con las raíces de las plantas mejorando su nutrición y además producen una glicoproteína llamada glomalina, la cual ha sido relacionada con la estabilidad de los agregados de suelo. Por lo anterior, el objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el efecto de la aplicación de distintas dosis de compost sobre algunos parámetros de un Ultisol de la zona centro-sur de Chile, al finalizar el tercer año de una secuencia de cultivos formada por trigo (Triticum aestivum L.), frejol (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) y pradera permanente (Lolium multiflorum Lam. asociada con Trifolium repens L.). Se estudiaron parámetros químicos (pH, C orgánico, P-Olsen), biológicos (C y N biomásico, número de esporas de AMF, micorrización de raíces, longitud de micelio y niveles de glomalina), y físicos (capacidad de retención de agua, WHC, y agregados estables al agua, WSA). Los resultados mostraron que, en general, la aplicación de compost incrementó el pH, micorrización radical, niveles de glomalina, longitud del micelio fúngico y porcentaje de WSA. Se encontraron correlaciones entre C y N biomásico, C biomásico y WSA, C biomásico y glomalina, WSA y WHC. Los resultados aportan antecedentes sobre el uso beneficioso de compost como una alternativa viable de sustitución de insumos y disminución de la erosión en asentamientos de pequeños agricultores orientados a la agricultura orgánica. In coral reefs of southwestern Cuba, we assessed the impacts from unprecedented frequent and intense hurricanes during the period 2001-2007, and from coral diseases, which are both factors considered to be associated with climate change.. At the reef crests, live hard coral cover reduction varied from null to 21%, while maximum average coral diameter reduction varied from 16 to 40 cm. In the fore-reefs, the reduction of coral cover varied from null to 14%, while diameter reduction varied from null to 26 cm. However, at all sites, great shifts in species dominance patterns were observed. In reef crests, numerical dominance of Acropora palmata and other hard corals shifted towards increases of Millepora complanata or, to a lesser extent, of Porites astreoides or Acropora prolifera. At the fore-reefs, the shifts occurred from the dominance of Montastraea annularis complex, Diploria strigosa and Agaricia agaricites, towards combined increases of P. astreoides or Siderastrea siderea. With those ongoing changes, reef crests are losing effectiveness as refuges and wave dissipators because of reduction of structural complexity. The population density of the sea-urchin Diadema antillarum remained negligible and unchanged in the southern Gulf of Batabanó, while it increased significantly at the Faro Cazones reef crest. Percentages of recent mortality and percentages of disease incidence in corals remained low, suggesting a dominant influence from hurricanes on assessed coral reef decline. This paper describes the staging of the rite “the fishes´ celebration” where the intimate communion with nature, and especially with the aquatic world as a source of life, purification and regeneration center is visible together with a conglomeration of correspondences involving all their symbolic world. Linguistic data on morphology and lexical classifiers related to aquatic fauna and flora are also provided. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o uso de cama de aves associada à fertilizante nitrogenado na cultura do milho e a disponibilização de nitrogênio da cama de aves durante três anos de cultivo. Foi utilizado o delineamento em blocos casualizados, no esquema fatorial 3x5+1. Os fatores consistiram doses de cama de aves (2, 5 e 8 Mg ha-1) e doses de nitrogênio (0, 50, 100, 150, 200 kg ha-1). A testemunha recebeu fertilizante mineral na semeadura na dose de 120, 80 e 20 kg ha-1 de P205, K2O e N, respectivamente e em cobertura com 200 kg ha-1 de N. Foram feitas leituras com clorofilômetro, altura de plantas, altura de espigas, produtividade, massa de cem grãos e número de grãos por espiga. As maiores doses de cama de aves utilizadas em três anos sucessivos, mesmo sem N em cobertura, propicia produtividade semelhante à testemunha com fertilizante mineral na cultura do milho. A cama de aves é alternativa viável na adubação da cultura do milho. En este trabajo presento el resultado de un estudio morfológico y taxonómico de las especies L. nestleri y L. eliasii, apoyado en numerosas ilustraciones. de las cuales sólo una pequeña parte se incluyen en este artículo. L. nestleri subsp. nestleri se distribuye desde el Centro de Francia (Massif Central) hasta el SE de la Península Ibérica. Dos nuevas subespecies permiten relacionar la variabilidad morfológica observada con su ecología y distribución geográfica. L. nestleri subsp. flabellatum es propio de los Pirineos y la montañas Cantábricas. y L. nestleri subsp. lainzii es un notable endemismo localizado en las montañas del N de León. L. eliasii presenta también una gran variabilidad morfológica. Su área de distribución se solapa parcialmente con la de L. nestleri subsp. flabellatum. Unas formas del País Vasco, muy localizadas, se incluyen bajo L. eliasii subsp. ordunae, mientras que las más occidentales. de Galicia y N de Portugal, corresponden a L. eliasii subsp. thalictrifolium. Propongo distintas variedades nuevas para destacar algunas formas locales notables. El estudio de la sección del mericarpo. la distribución foliar de los estomas y la morfología de las hojas basales con los tricomas es muy útiI para delimitar estos táxones.
