El número de especies, tasas de endemicidad, y temperatura del suelo se compararon por medio de ANCOVA y regresión lineal.Resultados: Las dos regiones objeto de análisis, aunque similares climáticamente, muestran patrones llamativamente diferentes: en Sierra Nevada, la proporción de plantas vasculares endémicas (especies restringidas a Sierra Nevada) muestra un incremento gradual desde la cima más baja a la más alta. En contraste, la proporción de endemismos restringidos a Creta no fue significativamente diferente entre las cuatro cimas de Lefka Ori. Las tendencias observadas en ambas regiones fueron en gran parte consistentes con la distribución de las especies endémicas obtenida de las floras para cada región. Conclusiones principales: La posición geográfica de ambas regiones, por ejemplo. isla frente a continente, y la mayor elevación de Sierra Nevada se sugieren como las principales causas de las diferencias observadas. Fothergill Description An account of the resource P. aeruginosa is classified as a priority one pathogen by the World Health Organisation, and new drugs are urgently needed, due to the emergence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) strains. Antimicrobial-resistant nosocomial pathogens such as P. aeruginosa pose unwavering and increasing threats. Antimicrobial stewardship has been a challenge during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a majority of those hospitalized with SARS-CoV2 infection given antibiotics as a safeguard against secondary bacterial infection. This increased usage, along with increased handling of sanitizers and disinfectants globally, may further accelerate the development and spread of cross-resistance to antibiotics. In addition, P. aeruginosa is the primary causative agent of morbidity and mortality in people with the life-shortening genetic disease cystic fibrosis (CF). Prolonged periods of selective pressure, associated with extended antibiotic treatment and the actions of host immune effectors, results in widespread adaptive and acquired resistance in P. aeruginosa found colonizing the lungs of people with CF. This review discusses the arsenal of resistance mechanisms utilized by P. aeruginosa, how these operate under high-stress environments such as the CF lung and how their interconnectedness can result in resistance to multiple antibiotic classes. Intrinsic, adaptive and acquired resistance mechanisms will be described, with a focus on how each layer of resistance can serve as a building block, contributing to multi-tiered resistance to antimicrobial activity. Recent progress in the development of anti-resistance adjuvant therapies, targeting one or more of these building blocks, should lead to novel strategies for combatting multidrug resistant P. aeruginosa. Anti-resistance adjuvant therapy holds great promise, not least because resistance against such therapeutics is predicted to be rare. The non-bactericidal nature of anti-resistance adjuvants reduce the selective pressures that drive resistance. Anti-resistance adjuvant therapy may also be advantageous in facilitating efficacious use of traditional antimicrobials, through enhanced penetration of the antibiotic into the bacterial cell. Promising anti-resistance adjuvant therapeutics and targets will be described, and key remaining challenges highlighted. As antimicrobial stewardship becomes more challenging in an era of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and global conflict, innovation in antibiotic adjuvant therapy can play an important role in extending the shelf-life of our existing antimicrobial therapeutic agents. Por eso es necesario estudiar y anticipar las amenazas que existen sobre ellos. El cambio climático es una de las mayores amenazas sobre estos ecosistemas y es preciso investigar cuáles serán sus efectos en el futuro. La creciente disponibilidad de datos (p.ej. los inventarios forestales), y un aumento de la capacidad analítica (p.ej. mediante nuevas metodologías de análisis numérico y una mayor capacidad computacional), están permitiendo mejoras sustanciales en las predicciones de los efectos del cambio climático sobre los bosques. Se sitúan en torno a los 40° de latitud Norte y entre 450-650 metros de altitud. Durante el Pleistoceno, sus condiciones sedimentarias se han desarrollado bajo climas mediterráneos, degradados o separados por pequeños hiatos. En estas llanuras, el loess es una de las acumulaciones superficiales más adecuadas para la reconstrucción de ambientes pasados y para la determinación de cambios climáticos. Se han analizado, para el presente estudio, más de un centenar de muestras en estos depósitos eólicos, en el que la determinación de las propiedades físicas se ha llevado a cabo por medio de análisis mecánicos. La edad del loess ha sido obtenida por termoluminiscencia y se puede asociar a las fases isotópicas del oxígeno (OIS) 3 y 2 (período Würm y tardiglaciar). Los loess están correlacionados con otras formaciones frías de estos ambientes y, entre ellas, con los depósitos estratificados sobre las laderas en relación con intensos fríos y bruscos cambios térmicos y estacionales.
