                <text>O presente estudo tem como objetivos identificar as espécies e os níveis populacionais de percevejos-praga e de seus parasitóides de ovos em campos de soja sob manejo orgânico. O estudo foi realizado no ano agrícola 2004/05 em três lavouras de soja sob cultivo orgânico localizadas nos municípios de Três de Maio, São José do Inhacorá e Três Passos no estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Em cada lavoura demarcaram-se duas parcelas de 1800 m2 que consistiram as unidades experimentais. Populações de percevejos foram monitoradas por amostragens semanais com pano de batida em seis pontos aleatórios em cada parcela. Paralelamente foram vistoriadas seis plantas aleatórias e coletadas todas as posturas de percevejos existentes. Foram coletados 400 percevejos, a espécie Piezodorus guildinii foi a mais freqüente (53,75%), seguida de Nezara viridula (17,75%), Dichelops furcatus (12%), Edessa meditabunda (7%) e Acrosternum impicticorne (4,75%). Dos 2660 ovos coletados, 153 (5,75%) estavam parasitados e de 87 (56,86%) emergiram parasitóides. O parasitismo ocorreu apenas em posturas de N. viridula, D. furcatus e A. impicticorne., Registrou-se a ocorrência de cinco espécies de parasitóides: Trissolcus basalis, Trissolcus urichi, Trissolcus brochymenae, Telenomus sp. e Telenomus podisi.</text>

El gobierno cubano, le ha concedido importancia a la producción nacional de garbanzo, con el propósito de sustituir importaciones, satisfacer las demandas del mercado y contribuir a la seguridad y soberanía alimentaria. Objetivo. Presentar los aportes de las ferias de agrodiversidad en la selección de nuevos genotipos de garbanzo (Cicer arietinum) en el occidente de Cuba. Materiales y métodos. El trabajo se desarrolló durante el periodo 2000-2018. Se analizó la selección de materiales de garbanzo de seis viveros introducidos por el Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Agrícolas (INCA) desde el Centro Internacional para Investigaciones Agrícolas en Zonas Áridas (ICARDA) y nueve variedades comerciales donadas por el Instituto de Investigaciones Fundamentales en Agricultura Tropical (INIFAT). Se sembraron en tres localidades de la región occidental de Cuba. Se realizaron ferias de diversidad para efectuar la selección de los genotipos con mejor comportamiento agroproductivo.  Resultados. La comparación entre los viveros internacionales no mostró diferencias agroproductivas significativas entre ellos. Las variables de mayor peso en la caracterización agroproductiva fueron: días a maduración, días a floración, número de ramas, altura de las plantas y rendimiento. La mayor cantidad de genotipos seleccionados en las ferias de agrodiversidad correspondieron al vivero Élite Internacional para América Latina. El rendimiento promedio de los materiales seleccionados estuvo por encima de 1,00 t ha-1. Conclusiones. La realización de ferias de agrodiversidad de garbanzo, ha aportado diecisiete nuevos materiales con idóneo comportamiento productivo, culinario y adaptabilidad a las condiciones edafoclimáticas de diferentes localidades del occidente de Cuba.</text>

                <text>Research background: The classic explanation about the structure of economies stipulates that, as societies advance, their economy gradually shifts towards the tertiary sector where the added value is the highest. While this logic proved to be empirically true during the last centuries, it nonetheless comes with significant issues in the long run. The need for manufactured products, which is constantly growing due to global economic development and a growing population, must still be addressed by an industrial base around. This leaves only two options open: 1. Some countries have to lag behind the rest of the world in terms of global economic development or 2. Developed countries will have to devote part of their labor and capital investment to (re) building capable industrial capacity. Purpose of the article: The aim of the article is to point out the influence of globalization on the position of production structures in the context of the global crisis. Methods: Comparative method, definition of the object of comparison and determination of the goal of comparison and determination of criteria for own analysis of relevant sources, induction, deduction, generalization. Findings &amp; Value added: The only way to maintain enough industrial capacity to answer the demand in a globalized world without having some countries lagging behind will be to redistribute the production capabilities among the countries. This would make the economic playfield more even and would also have several side benefits regarding global environmental and political issues including unexpected crises such as pandemic period coronavirus.</text>

                <text>There is evidence that COVID-19, the disease caused by the betacoronavirus SARS-CoV-2, is sensitive to environmental conditions. However, such conditions often correlate with demographic and socioeconomic factors at larger spatial extents, which could confound this inference. We evaluated the effect of meteorological conditions (temperature, solar radiation, air humidity and precipitation) on 292 daily records of cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases across the 27 Brazilian capital cities during the 1st month of the outbreak, while controlling for an indicator of the number of tests, the number of arriving flights, population density, proportion of elderly people and average income. Apart from increasing with time, the number of confirmed cases was mainly related to the number of arriving flights and population density, increasing with both factors. However, after accounting for these effects, the disease was shown to be temperature sensitive: there were more cases in colder cities and days, and cases accumulated faster at lower temperatures. Our best estimate indicates that a 1 °C increase in temperature has been associated with a decrease in confirmed cases of 8%. The quality of the data and unknowns limit the analysis, but the study reveals an urgent need to understand more about the environmental sensitivity of the disease to predict demands on health services in different regions and seasons.</text>

                <text>El estudio se realizó en una casa de cultivo protegido del Centro de Capacitación Producción (CCP) de la filial de la Asociación Cubana de Técnicos Agrícolas y Forestales (ACTAF) en el municipio de Arroyo Naranjo, La Habana, Cuba. Los resultados de la investigación permitieron concluir que fue factible el uso de estos fertilizantes orgánicos a través del sistema de riego localizado, y que los mismos pueden usarse mediante un programa de fertirrigación. El empleo del bioestimulante CBFert posibilitó mayor número de frutos de categorías extra, de primera y tercera, respecto al fitomas E que aumentó el número de frutos de segunda y tercera categoría y los rendimientos totales en kg/m² y kg/ha/planta. Además con estos productos, se obtuvo una cosecha de frutos con alta calidad externa sin aplicación de fertilizantes químicos lo que contribuye a la no contaminación del medio ambiente.</text>

                <text>Um experimento foi desenvolvido no período de outubro de 2009 a fevereiro de 2010, em ambiente telado do Departamento de Solos e Engenharia Rural do Centro de Ciências Agrárias da Universidade Federal da Paraíba, Areia, PB, para avaliar a influência da salinidade da água de irrigação no crescimento inicial do tomate-cereja em solo não salino, sem e com dois tipos de biofertilizante bovino. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial 5x3, com seis repetições, referente aos valores de condutividade elétrica da água de irrigação: 0,5; 1,0; 2,0; 3,0 e 4,0 dS m-1, em solo sem biofertilizante, com biofertilizante comum e enriquecido com leite, melaço e gesso agrícola. Depois de diluídos em água não salina (0,5 dS m-1) na razão de 1:1. Os biofertilizantes foram aplicados uma única vez, dois dias antes da semeadura, a nível de 10% do volume do substrato. Os biofertilizantes proporcionaram maior crescimento das plantas em relação ao solo sem os respectivos insumos, independentemente do nível de salinidade das águas. A adição do biofertilizante comum e do enriquecido elevou o caráter salino do solo com superioridade sobre os tratamentos com apenas águas salinas, mas sem diferença significativa entre ambos.An experiment was conducted, from October 2009 to February 2010, in a greenhouse of the Soil and Rural Engineering Department from CCA â€“ UFPB, Areia â€“ PB, to evaluate the influence of the irrigation water salinity in the initial growth of the cherry tomatoes in a non-saline soil with and without two types of bovine biofertilizer. The experimental design was completely randomized in factorial scheme 5 x 3, with six repetitions, referring to values of electrical conductivity of the irrigation water: 0.5; 1.0; 2.0; 3.0 and 4.0 dS m-1 , in the soil without biofertilizer, with ordinary biofertilizer and enriched with milk, molasses, agricultural gypsum. The biofertilizers after dilution in non-saline water (0.5 dS m-1) in the ratio of 1:1 were applied only once, two days before sowing, equivalent to 10% of the substrate volume. The biofertilizers provided higher growth of plants regarding the soil without the respective inputs, regardless of water salinity level. The addition of ordinary biofertilizer and the enriched compost raised the saline character of soil more than under saline water only, but no significant difference were observed.</text>
