In March 2020 the World Health Organization declared a new virus outbreak as “a global pandemic”, and recommended social distancing and quarantine. Most countries in Europe have been quarantined. The social aspect of this issue is complicated by the fact that Europe nowadays hosts 82 million international migrants. If migrant workers leave the host country, it reduces the Covid-19 spread. Nevertheless, if migrant workers do not return, it will worsen the situation with the economic crisis. The subject of the study is the instrumental and mathematical aspects of impact simulation of labor migrants’ policy on the economic growth of the host country affected by COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of the work is to develop the system dynamics model for assessing labor migrants’ policy impact on the economic growth of the host country during COVID-19 pandemic. It examined through hypotheses of different scenarios of labor migrants policy impact on the host country economic growth in Covid-19 pandemic. The proposed model combines epidemiological and the economic growth models and relies upon real statistical data. The analysis was carried out in four European countries. The results of the study enabled to state that without migrant workers the gross domestic product may fall to 43% in Italy, 45% in Netherlands, 37% in Spain and 200% in Switzerland in 2020. Naminse Description An account of the resource The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been identified as the main cause of the outbreak of the respiratory disease in Wuhan, Hubei Province of China in December 2019. Since then, the epidemic has spread rapidly throughout China and many other countries in the world. This study, therefore, examines the spatiotemporal distribution of the confirmed cases of COVID-19 and its effect on human development in China, and suggested social and non-pharmaceutical preventive interventions to help curb the further spread of the disease. The public open data available from January to February 2020, from the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China and a medical knowledge sharing website were used, and spatial analysis was performed to visualize the spatial distribution pattern of COVID-19 in China. The results showed among others that COVID-19 had entered a dispersed spatial pattern, resulting in increased pressure to control the spread of the disease. In early March, there was a significant reduction in the existing number of cases, and the number of deaths also decreased. At the provincial level, the spatial distribution of the number of cumulative confirmed cases in China was divided into four patterns: Hubei was the initial core region; the eastern provinces adjacent to Hubei formed the second concentrated pattern; the western provinces adjacent to Hubei and the northeastern and southeastern provinces which were separated from Hubei by one province belonged to the third distribution pattern; while the rest of the provinces in the north, south and west showing sporadic distribution patterns formed the fourth. It has been estimated that about 80% of students’ online learning at all schools were not effective due to lack of access to reliable and uninterrupted internet services especially in the rural areas of China. Finalmente, se debe generar una cultura de manejo del agua -re uso de aguas residuales, uso moderado del agua potable, entre otros-. Es de vital importancia priorizar estas políticas públicas dado que el acceso al agua potable y saneamiento es un derecho humano el cual se debe garantizar para el desarrollo social y económico de Bolivia. Slobodeniuk Description An account of the resource The aim of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and its effect on oxidative stress and apoptosis in patients with new coronavirus infection COVID-19.Materials and methods. 90 patients diagnosed with new coronavirus infection caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus were examined. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions were conducted in 57 patients (38 in severe condition (CT 3-4), 19 in moderate condition (CT 1-2)). The procedures were performed in 1.4-1.6 ATA mode for 40 minutes, 247 sessions in total were performed. The effect of hyperbaric oxygenation was assessed by measuring the level of oxygen saturation, the severity of oxidative stress and apoptosis of blood lymphocytes.Results. In all examined patients with new coronavirus infection caused by SARS-CoV-2, positive changes such as dyspnea reduction and improvement of general well-being were registered after hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions. The level of oxygen saturation after the end of the hyperbaric oxygen therapy course was 95.0±1.6% (before the course — 91.3±5.9%), which allowed to return almost all patients to spontaneous respiration without the need for further oxygenation therapy. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy did not reduce the total antioxidant activity, however, it was associated with a decrease in the blood malone dialdehyde from 4.34±0.52 pmol/l to 3.98±0.48 pmol/l and a decrease in open circuit potential of platinum electrode from -22.78±24.58 mV to -37.69±17.4 mV. Besides, the positive effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy was manifested in normalization of blood cell apoptosis.Conclusion. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy in patients with new coronavirus infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus is an effective treatment method with multiple effects resulting in improvement of subjective indicators of the patients' condition, increase of hemoglobin oxygen saturation, decrease of lipid peroxidation intensity, activation of antioxidant system, restoration of pro- and antioxidant balance and apoptosis normalization. Los resultados demostraron que, el maíz asociado con coberturas de trébol, vicia y mulch (cobertura muerta) aumentó en 44%, 37% y 38% respectivamente el rendimiento (kg.ha-1) de grano de maíz amiláceo, comparados a la siembra de maíz sin ningún tipo de cobertura. Asimismo, el uso de coberturas de trébol, vicia y avena + vicia incrementan la materia orgánica del suelo y aporta al suelo 253; 163 y 149 kg.ha-1 de nitrógeno siempre y cuando la biomasa foliar de las coberturas se incorpora al suelo. Por lo tanto, la asociación maíz – trébol es la que presenta mejores resultados para incrementar los rendimientos bajo un manejo sostenible del suelo y bajo los principios de la agroecología. Colombo Description An account of the resource Introduction. Coronavirus pneumonitis can mimic, or present as, lupus pneumonitis. Lupus may cause inflammation of the myocardium. Lupus pneumonitis high-dose steroid therapy may mask coronavirus (COVID-19). Case Study. The patient is a 65 y/o Hispanic female with lupus pneumonitis complicated by COVID-19. Her diagnosis was confirmed by a renal biopsy. She had nephritic and nephrotic syndrome. She was hospitalized a month earlier with shortness of breath with pulmonary infiltrates and was treated with steroids. The symptoms resolved quickly with shrinking consolidations and infiltrates. The patient returned to the office for shortness of breath with a presumptive diagnosis of recurrent lupus pneumonitis from steroid taper. The patient had a CT scan of the chest that revealed upper lobe interstitial and peripheral infiltrates. The radiologist felt that this was suspicious for coronavirus pneumonitis, and the patient was placed in isolation and continued therapy for lupus pneumonitis. She deteriorated, became hypoxic, and ventilated. Conclusion. All lupus pneumonitis patients, in fact all lupus patients in general (personal experience), on high-dose steroid therapy should be tested for COVID-19 to ensure proper diagnosis and therapy planning.
