Resulta-dos. En el estudio se argumenta que, con es-tos programas, a pesar de las mejoras en el estado de nutrición, la ingesta de alimentos altamente energéticos, ricos en grasas, azuca-res y sodio, ha incrementado. La gente de las dos comunidades tiende a consumir alimen-tos altamente industrializados, mientras que la producción e ingesta de los alimentos pro-ducidos en las milpas y los de traspatio dismi-nuyen. La desinformación, el bajo nivel educativo, la nula educación nutrimental y la gran disponibilidad de alimentos industriali-zados, son algunos de los factores que contri-buyen a tal consumo. Limitaciones. Fue una limitante durante el trabajo de campo acceder a la información oficial de los programas Prospera, PESA, PA L y Cocinas Escolares, so-bre cómo funcionan en la práctica dentro de las comunidades. No obstante esta situación se compenso realizando entrevistas a profun-didad a funcionarios públicos y en especial a los beneficiarios de los programas antes men-cionados, para conocer a fondo como funcio-na cada programa social. Conclusiones. Se concluye que los programas públicos analiza-dos requerirían componentes educativos más claros respecto a la calidad de los alimentos consumidos. Aunque no es el objetivo central de los programas analizados de fomentar la pro-ducción de alimentos deben de estimular la pro-ducción de alimentos tradicionales y sanos me-diante programas educativos. El diseño experimental fue de bloques completos al azar con cinco tratamientos y cuatro repeticiones. En diferentes etapas fenológicas del cultivo se evaluaron en el suelo: N total, amonio, nitrato, temperatura, humedad volumétrica; en la planta se evaluó: N, rendimiento en grano seco y la eficiencia de uso de nutrientes para N se evaluó en términos de la eficiencia agronómica (EA), eficiencia fisiológica (EF) y eficiencia de recuperación (ER). La FQ y los AO generaron cambios relevantes en la dinámica del N en suelo y planta, la fertilización mineral promovió una mayor eficiencia de uso de nitrógeno en maíz, a través de los indicadores de la eficiencia agronómica, la eficiencia de recuperación y el rendimiento de grano. Las prácticas de manejo del suelo en los agroecosistemas, como el uso de abonos verdes (AV), afectan positivamente las emisiones de los gases de efecto invernadero (GEI). Objetivo. El objetivo de la investigación fue evaluar la emisión de CO2, CH4 y N2O, de un suelo cultivado con maíz y soya, bajo el uso de abonos verdes, barbecho (B) y fertilización nitrogenada. Materiales y métodos. Entre julio de 2011 y junio de 2012, en un Typic Haplustert, ubicado en el Valle del Cauca, Colombia, se sembraron maíz y soya en forma intercalada y los monocultivos de maíz y soya, los dos últimos manejados de forma convencional. Se estableció como AV la asociación entre Mucuna pruriens var. utilis y maíz, noventa días después de la siembra, el total de los residuos se incorporaron como AV o se dispusieron sobre la superficie del suelo como acolchado orgánico (AO). Se utilizaron once tratamientos bajo el diseño de bloques completos al azar, con arreglo factorial 32 + 2, con tres repeticiones. Las parcelas principales las constituyó AV, AO y B. Cada una se dividió en subparcelas que correspondieron a la fertilización por compost, fertilizante de síntesis química industrial y ninguna adición. En la etapa de floración y llenado de grano de los cultivos se analizaron variables como el N2O, CH4, CO2 y porosidad total llena de agua. Resultados. El flujo CO2 fue mayor en los cultivos intercalados adicionados con AV/AO en comparación con los monocultivos. En las parcelas principales el uso de fertilizantes de síntesis química industrial estimuló significativamente los flujos de N2O y CH4. Conclusión. El uso de materiales orgánicos de alta calidad como AV/AO no aseguraron suelos sumideros de GEI a corto plazo, ya que las condiciones del suelo y la fertilización nitrogenada influyeron de forma significativa en las emisiones. Among the species with potential use for agricultural pollination in the Neotropics, a peculiar small group has specialised in collecting floral oil. Therefore, the aim of this study was to analyse the chemical profile and to identify the main constituents of the floral oil of the nance (Byrsonima sericea), an abundant species in the Northeast of Brazil and widely used by oil-collecting bees. A sample of 400 flowers of the nance were collected between October 2017 and January 2018. The samples were derivatised (MSTFA) and analysed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry in a Model 7890B GC Gas Chromatograph System coupled to a Model 5977A MSD mass spectrometer. The compounds were separated using an HP-5ms capillary column and identified by comparing the mass spectra with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) database, and by comparison of the retention indices (RI). From the chromatographic analysis, it was possible to identify 23 constituents, especially fatty acids and carboxylic acids. The results indicate the presence of tricosanoic acid, palmitic acid and heneicosanoic acid as the main constituents of the oil under study. There is still a need for studies that would better explain the relationship of these constituents with the bees that use the oil. The purpose of this study is to measure the impact of various types of personal protective equipment (PPE) worn by HCP during a variety of office-based endonasal procedures. Methodology: Simulated sneeze and office-based procedures were performed in a test model and aerosol levels were quantified in the middle meatus of a simulated HCP model wearing various forms of PPE by using a laser diode-based particle counter. Endoscopic exam, balloon sinus dilation, suction and irrigation, simulated tissue resection with a microdebrider, and routine debridement procedures were evaluated. The aerosol levels were evaluated with and without the use of PPE to assess HCP aerosol exposure.Results: A simulated sneeze represents a worst-case aerosol generating event when compared to other common office-based procedures (approximately 1,000 times greater than baseline particle count). Common endoscopic procedures did not generate significantly greater particle counts above baseline. When compared to no mask, a surgical mask reduces particle counts experienced by HCP in the middle meatus by 69%, while an N95 mask significantly reduced particles by 93%.Conclusions: The levels of aerosols generated during common office-based procedures are consistent with the background aerosol levels measured at baseline. Masks are effective, with the N95 mask most effective at reducing HCP exposure to aerosols generated during a simulated sneeze. Description An account of the resource The paper presents results of research aimed at determining the corrosive properties of steel with cathode metal coating in selected corrosive environments. The corrosion properties of the tin coated steel were evaluated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and potentiodynamic tests. For realised measurements, distilled water, 0.5 mol dm−3 NaCl solution, 0.1 mol dm−3 NaCl solution and SARS, which simulates acid rain were used as corrosive solutions. Both corrosion methods are suitable for diagnosing corrosion properties of steel with metal coatings.
