El estudio se realizó en el Centro de Investigación Tibaitatá (Corpoica) ubicado en Mosquera (Cundinamarca-Colombia). Los resultados demostraron que las cepas tienen la capacidad intrínseca para solubilizar fuentes de fósforo de baja solubilidad como la roca fosfórica.                 <text>El objetivo de esta investigación fue aislar y caracterizar rizobacterias promotoras de crecimiento vegetal (PGPRs, por sus siglas en inglés) nativas de la rizosfera en cultivos de Dioscorea rotundata de zonas productoras representativas del Caribe Colombiano como Montes de María, Sabanas Colinadas, Valle del Sinú. Además, evaluar el efecto de la inoculación de estas, a nivel de invernadero, sobre el crecimiento de plántulas in vitro de Dioscorea rotundata. Se determinaron características de promoción de crecimiento vegetal in vitro mediante la producción de auxinas por el método colorimétrico de Salkowsky y solubilización de fósforo. Las cepas fueron probadas a nivel invernadero en plántulas in vitro de Dioscorea rotundata, en las que se determinó variables de altura, longitud radicular, peso seco parte aérea y peso seco radicular. Todas las cepas presentaron la capacidad de producir auxinas y solubilizar fósforo. Se evidenció en invernadero un efecto positivo en los parámetros de crecimiento de plántulas después de 60 días de siembra, la mayoría de las cepas por zona generaron incrementos, principalmente en el peso seco radicular de las plántulas de Dioscorea rotundata, en comparación con el control sin inocular, destacándose Enterobacter cloacae DSC6 con un incremento significativo (p≤0,05) de 147%, Azotobacter vinelandii DVS9 con un 126%, Azotobacter vinelandii DCR11 con un 108% (p≤0,05), Brevibacillus laterosporus DSC19 con un 96%, Bacillus subtilis DSC82 con un 88% (p≤0,05), Azotobacter vinelandii DSC72 con un 54% y Pseudomonas denitrificans DVS10 con un 48%. Los resultados sugirieron que los microorganismos aislados de la rizosfera tienen potencial como biofertilizantes.</text>

                <text>This research aims the isolation and characterization of bacteria with potential to promote the growth of grass Pennisetumclandestinum in simulated saline soils. 92 Gram positive bacterias were isolated from Rhizosphere soil samples of P. clandestinum. Ten isolated bacteria grew on nutrient agar supplemented with NaCl (2.578 M). Isolates were evaluated under greenhouse conditions; the strains identified as KISA 34 and KISA 71 were selected as the best based on the statistical test of Dunnet (p ≤ 0.05) and were identified Bacillus amyloliquefaciens KISA 34 and Bacillus subtilis KISA 71. These strains have the ability to produce ammonium, exopolysaccharides and cellulose, both in absence and presence of NaCl. The strains produced indoles and phosphorus solubilization. The evaluation of strains in greenhouse showed that the T6 - KISA 34 + KISA 71+ 25 % (phosphate rock RF) significantly increased biomass and plant development (p≤ 0.05) compared with T2 - full fertilization . The results of this research showed that isolates have the ability to grow in saline soils retaining its characteristics as promoting plant growth with positive effects on P. clandestinum.</text>

                <text>This research aims the isolation and characterization of bacteria with potential to promote the growth of grass Pennisetum clandestinum in simulated saline soils. 92 Gram positive bacterias were isolated from Rhizosphere soil samples of P. clandestinum. Ten isolated bacteria grew on nutrient agar supplemented with NaCl (2.578 M). Isolates were evaluated under greenhouse conditions; the strains identified as KISA 34 and KISA 71 were selected as the best based on the statistical test of Dunnet (p ≤ 0.05) and were identified Bacillus amyloliquefaciens KISA 34 and Bacillus subtilis KISA 71. These strains have the ability to produce ammonium, exopolysaccharides and cellulose, both in absence and presence of NaCl. The strains produced indoles and phosphorus solubilization. The evaluation of strains in greenhouse showed that the T6 - KISA 34 + KISA 71+ 25 % (phosphate rock RF) significantly increased biomass and plant development (p≤ 0.05) compared with T2 - full fertilization . The results of this research showed that isolates have the ability to grow in saline soils retaining its characteristics as promoting plant growth with positive effects on P. clandestinum.</text>

La utilización excesiva de fertilizantes nitrogenados en cultivos de batata contribuye con la contaminación de los ecosistemas, para disminuir este efecto y mejorar la productividad del cultivo, la incorporación, de rizobacterias promotoras de crecimiento vegetal (PGPRs, por sus siglas en inglés) en las estrategias de manejo del cultivo, constituyen una herramienta sostenible. Objetivo. El objetivo de esta investigación fue incorporar las cepas bacterianas Azotobacter chroococcum IBCR19 y Azospirillum lipoferum IBSC7 en la fertilización nitrogenada y evaluar su efecto en el rendimiento y composición bromatológica de las raíces tuberosas de batata (Ipomoea batatasLam). Materiales y métodos. El estudio se realizó en el municipio de Corozal (Sucre, Colombia), durante los meses de junio a octubre del 2017. Se utilizó un área experimental de 840 m2, donde se establecieron veinticuatro parcelas con esquejes apicales de la accesión 15020078, distribuidas bajo un diseño completamente aleatorizado con arreglo factorial aumentado (3x2+2). Se evaluó materia seca radicular, rendimiento y composición bromatológica de las raíces de batata.Resultados. El rendimiento fresco y de materia seca radicular presentó diferencias significativas (p≤0,05) entre lostratamientos, en donde la aplicación de A. chroococcum IBCR19 y un 75 % de fertilización nitrogenada alcanzó los mayores valores medios de rendimiento y materia seca radicular 12,18 t.ha-1 y 2,92 t.ha-1, respectivamente. De igualforma, las concentraciones de proteína y extracto etéreo difirieron significativamente (p≤0,05) entre los tratamientosinoculados con relación al testigo absoluto. Conclusión. Con base en los resultados obtenidos se puede inferir que la inoculación con A. chroococcum IBCR19 logró reducir en un 25 % los niveles de fertilización nitrogenada y constituye una cepa promisoria como bioestimulante.</text>

                <text>La batata (Ipomoea batatas L.) se cultiva en todo el mundo como fuente de carbohidratos, y su producción comercial requiere un alto aporte de fertilizantes químicos, lo cual eleva los costos de producción. Los inoculantes microbianos, se emplean como una fuente alternativa de nutrición vegetal. El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar el efecto de Pseudomonas denitrificans IBVS2 y Azotobacter vinelandii IBVS13 con diferentes niveles fertilización química nitrogenada en el cultivo de batata en la microrregión del Valle del Sinú en el Caribe Colombiano. Para los montajes de los experimentos se utilizó un diseño completamente aleatorizado, ocho tratamientos y tres repeticiones usando como material vegetal plántulas obtenidas in vitro endurecidas en invernadero. Los resultados demostraron que la cepa Azotobacter vinelandii IBVS13 con un 75% de fertilización nitrogenada (FN) mejoró la capacidad de acumulación de materia seca en los tubérculos de batata, generando incrementos de 6,65 t/ha respecto al testigo químico y 3,18 t/ha en relación con el testigo absoluto, garantizando un incremento del rendimiento. Así mismo, el contenido de proteína bruta aumentó 13,93% al realizar la inoculación de las plantas con esta cepa. En el mismo sentido, la cepa Pseudomonas denitrificans IBVS2+ fertilización nitrogenada 50% presentó aumentos en la variable de fibra cruda 31,75% respecto al testigo absoluto, contribuyendo de manera eficaz como bioestimulante microbiano en la agricultura.</text>

                <text>Introducción. Para entender la ecología de las enfermedades es necesario comprender los agentes patógenos en la interfaz de vida silvestre y ganado. Los cerdos silvestres (Sus scrofa) constituyen un problema sanitario cuando se trata de prevenir y controlar las enfermedades zoonóticas, pues en ocasiones sus poblaciones son portadores de agentes infecciosos transmisibles a los cerdos domésticos y a otras especies animales, incluidos los seres humanos. Objetivo. Priorizar las enfermedades zoonóticas en la interfaz de cerdos silvestres, animales domésticos y seres humanos. Materiales y métodos. Se utilizó el método de priorización semicuantitativa basado en 27 criterios sustentados en publicaciones recientes, los cuales se clasificaron en las siguientes cinco categorías con base en la etiología viral: epidemiología (ocho), prevención y control (tres), economía y comercio (cuatro), salud pública (nueve) y sociedad (tres). A cada criterio se le adjudicó un coeficiente entre 0 y 7 de acuerdo con su impacto medido con base en la información científica (suma total de 189). La información sobre los criterios para las nueve enfermedades virales analizadas se recolectó mediante la revisión de 81 fuentes publicadas entre 1977 y 2015. Resultados. Las tres enfermedades con mayor puntaje y potencial zoonótico fueron la influenza porcina (133), la hepatitis E (123) y la infección por hantavirus (103), y la mayor puntuación se observó en los criterios de epidemiología y salud pública. Conclusión. Los métodos semicuantitativos de priorización son una fuente de información para la toma de decisiones, pero su utilización es poco frecuente en los países en desarrollo por la falta de datos de vigilancia en salud pública. El control de las enfermedades que afectan tanto a los seres humanos como a los animales silvestres, requiere el desarrollo de estrategias que reduzcan la transmisión de patógenos de estos a los animales domésticos y a los seres humanos.</text>

                <text>First paragraph:  The value proposition of farmers markets has been altered by the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival-like features of markets put on hold, the in-person social interactions reduced, the physical flow of walk-up markets changed. Just as previous crises[1] called upon markets to shift their operations to serve their community, the 2020 story highlights how once again, these low-capacity/high-functioning entities have been forced to reinvent themselves. This time, alternative models involving online pre-orders, drive-thru, and curbside product pick-up scenarios have been rapidly put in place by individual vendors and market operators. Open-air and shed market vendor placements have been redesigned to allow for social distancing among both vendors and customers. Sanitation and public safety measures including gloves, hand sanitizer, and hand-washing facilities are now essential considerations.
