La diversidad cultural y la problemática ambiental del agua en el estado de Sonora convergen en el presente trabajo, abordadas desde la perspectiva de la ecología política y la diversidad biocultural mediante un análisis transdisciplinario. Se distingue entre el acceso al agua para la subsistencia tradicional del agua para el desarrollo. Se advierten tendencias generalizadas de despojo de los territorios indígenas y sus recursos naturales, en las que los conflictos por el agua para la subsistencia son cada vez más graves, que exacerban la vulnerabilidad de las comunidades y la desorganización del complejo biocultural. El servicio del agua potable no tiene las condiciones para impulsar el desarrollo comunitario sustentable. Estas tendencias no son homogéneas, y se observan posibilidades de reconfiguración. Se requiere precisar el análisis para aportar al desarrollo de los pueblos indígenas, desde una plataforma biocultural contemporánea, en pleno respeto de sus derechos humanos individuales y colectivos.

La política ambiental en México ya es parte de la agenda de seguridad nacional, sin embargo, uno de sus instrumentos de planeación clave es el OET (Ordenamiento Ecológico del Territorio), el cual no ha logrado el impacto previsto. Se propone a los pueblos y territorios indígenas de Sonora como sector estratégico para la implementación de los OET, para lo cual se considera necesario profundizar en su problemática actual. Por ello, se realiza un análisis socioambiental de los complejos bioculturales de Sonora, a partir del marco de reflexión de la ecología política y la perspectiva biocultural. Esto se logra a partir de un análisis interdisciplinario donde se conjugan epistemologías y metodologías de los campos de las ciencias sociales y de la ecología. El análisis socioambiental se organiza a partir de dos grandes temas: la territorialidad y la comunidad indígena contemporánea. Se concluye que el formato actual de los OET es poco operativo, por lo que se dan recomendaciones para eficientar su implementación. Por último, se resalta la importancia de la atención de los complejos bioculturales, en primera instancia como un tema de justicia ambiental, así como por su capacidad para incidir a favor de los temas globales ambientales, como el cambio climático y la disponibilidad y calidad del agua.

Obesity is one of the major health problems worldwide. Following healthy dietary patterns can be difficult in some countries due to the lack of availability of certain foods; thus, alternative foods are needed. Our aim was to evaluate the effect of a dietary pattern consisting of fruit, avocado, whole grains, and trout (FAWGT) on postprandial insulinemia and lipemia in obese Colombian subjects. A randomized controlled crossover study was conducted, in which 44 subjects with BMI ≥ 30 kg/m2 followed either a FAWGT diet or a diet high in saturated fat and rich in processed carbohydrates. Levels of lipids and carbohydrates were measured during the postprandial state. The FAWGT diet reduced fasting insulin, VLDL, and HOMA-IR after 8 weeks (p < 0.05), while there was a lower postprandial increase in TG, VLDL, and insulin levels after both acute and chronic intake of FAWGT diet (p < 0.05). The intake of FAWGT-diet was characterized by high consumption of foods rich in fiber, MUFAs, and vitamins C and E (p < 0.05). The consumption of a diet composed of fruit, avocado, whole grains, and trout has emerged as a valid alternative to the foods included in other heart-healthy diets since it improves postprandial lipemia and insulinemia in obese people and has similar beneficial effects to these healthy models.

El objetivo de este artículo es identificar las diferentes posturas sobre bioética y bioeconomía, relacionadas con el desarrollo sostenible, a partir de perspectivas diversas que se enmarcan en los contextos europeo, latinoamericano y estadounidense. La revisión bibliográfica tuvo en cuenta teorías relacionadas con las tres categorías de análisis mencionadas. Se revisaron fuentes primarias y secundarias, con enfoques cualitativo y epistemológico-hermenéutico, para el análisis crítico de las fuentes. El desarrollo sostenible constituye un movimiento global que se relaciona con el medioambiente y no se opone a los avances de la ciencia y la tecnología, por el contrario, propende la preservación de un ambiente sano, uso y respeto de los recursos naturales para satisfacer las necesidades de las generaciones actuales sin poner en peligro la supervivencia de las generaciones futuras. La bioética y la bioeconomía son disciplinas que hacen compatible los intereses del ser humano de manera que sus conductas se cimienten en la moral, respeto de los recursos naturales y aplicación del principio de responsabilidad.

Estudio descriptivo transversal para la construcción participativa del mapeo de actores sociales identificados, para la formulación de políticas de seguridad alimentaria y nutricional (SAN) de la región del Urabá antioqueño. Se construyó un instrumento para la caracterización de actores de los 11 municipios de la región. Los datos se analizaron en el software SPSS 20.0 y UCINET 6. En el estudio participaron 152 actores, del sector público, privado y comunitario tanto de la esfera municipal como nacional, que permitieron identificar redes sociales con sus respectivas cohesiones y fragmentaciones de acuerdo con las dinámicas del contexto estudiado. Las principales actividades desarrolladas por los actores en el campo alimentario y nutricional fueron: educación, promoción del derecho a la alimentación y participación en programas dirigidos a la población vulnerable. Se concluye que la identificación de los actores sociales y sus recursos, evidencia la existencia de agentes interesados en el trabajo por la SAN de la región; sin embargo, se requiere intervenir las redes de manera que se fortalezca la interacción para promover la participación colectiva y articulada en procesos de construcción de políticas públicas en SAN.

El acceso a la energía eléctrica pretende mejorar las condiciones de vida de los habitantes rurales y disminuir la inequidad social. Bajo esta premisa, analizamos la electrificación como vía para alcanzar el Buen Vivir y favorecer el desarrollo productivo en las parroquias rurales de Taday y Rivera (Ecuador). Las entrevistas con la población local, sector privado, técnicos de las administraciones públicas y políticos locales muestran la importancia de este servicio por su impacto positivo en la salud y educación de las personas, en la participación de la mujer en el mercado de trabajo, en la reducción de la exclusión social y, en la actividad económica local. En este contexto, la agencia colectiva y las políticas de los gobiernos locales son elementos clave para estimular el desarrollo rural a partir del uso productivo de este servicio en sectores como la agroindustria y el turismo, con gran potencial de desarrollo en este territorio.

O espaço rural brasileiro passou por várias transformações nas últimas três décadas, estimulando o debate e estudo em torno da relação Estado/Espaço/Território/Agricultura Familiar e Desenvolvimento Rural. Diante disso, analisou-se a aplicação do microcrédito do PRONAF B, a partir do institucionalismo da metodologia do Agroamigo, demonstrando sua forma de operacionalização e seus impactos na região Nordeste do Brasil. Tal análise foi realizada mediante revisão bibliográfica e dados secundários advindos do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE, 2006/2017) e do Banco do Nordeste do Brasil (BNB). A metodologia do Agoramigo, executada exclusivamente pelo Banco do Nordeste, com acompanhamento de assessores, possibilitou melhorias produtivas e de renda, não só agrícolas; como também, diminuiu desigualdades em termos de gênero no meio rural.

En el sector rural del municipio de Paipa muchas de las familias recurren a la cría de bovinos para obtener de esta actividad ingresos su'cientes y recursos para satisfacer sus necesidades básicas; sin embargo, poco se conoce sobre el papel verdadero de esta especie en la seguridad alimentaria de las familias campesinas de este municipio de Boyacá, por tal razón esta investigación tuvo como objetivo general analizar la importancia de la cría de bovinos en la seguridad alimentaria de treinta familias campesinas del municipio de Paipa (Boyacá) y conocer los roles sociales y culturales que se generan con esta actividad pecuaria. Como resultado se obtuvo que los bovinos son criados como segunda opción en la consecución de recursos económicos, luego de las aves. En la producción bovina en promedio se crían cinco animales por predio; las razas más utilizadas son el Normando, Holstein y los cruces entre las mismas; predomina la producción de leche con una producción media de 150 litros/semana por familia; los ingresos y costos de producción dependen del número de bovinos criados; los ingresos obtenidos se destinan a la compra de víveres para el hogar, no se estimula el ahorro; el autoconsumo de los productos lácteos es muy bajo y los bovinos de carne no son consumidos dentro del hogar; el manejo de los animales está a cargo de todos los integrantes de la familia (ambos géneros). En general, los bovinos realizan aportes económicos interesantes a las familias campesinas, pero estos ingresos no son utilizados para la compra de alimentos de alto valor nutricional, afectando además, la seguridad alimentaria de las familias estudiadas.
