Según nuestras investigaciones desde la Comunidad de Estudios Campesinos (CEC) pudimos identificar cinco dispositivos según los cuales el agronegocio se territorializa: económico-financiero, jurídico-normativo y de políticas públicas, legitimación ideológica, formación y desarrollo tecnológico, coercitivo (CEC, 2009). Nos interesa abonar a la caracterización del despliegue del último de los dispositivos del agronegocio: el de la violencia. En esta oportunidad presentamos un análisis del conjunto de los asesinatos o muertes de campesinos e indígenas en conflictos de tierra en Argentina, desde la desregulación económica hasta la actualidad. En este sentido nos proponemos indagar el significado de la violencia sobre los cuerpos de campesinos/as e indígenas que registramos desde 1991. Nuestra hipótesis se orienta a explicar la vinculación entre la violencia rural y la desterritorialización de la emergente intencionalidad campesina. Between 2000 and 2007, samples were obtained from 18 different locations. Based on physiological tests and morphological characteristics of sexual structures, 72 isolates were identified as X. dendrorhous. Representative strains were studied by MSP-PCR fingerprinting and sequence analysis of the ITS region. MSP-PCR fingerprints were similar for the newly isolated strains, and were also identical to the profiles of the strains previously found in this region. Patagonian strains appear to be a genetically uniform and distinct population, supporting the hypothesis that the association with different host species has determined genetically distinct X. dendrorhous populations worldwide. X. dendrorhous was recovered from N. dombeyi and N. antarctica. Approximately half the sampling sites and samples were positive for X. dendrorhous, but the isolation recovery rate was low. X. dendrorhous was absent in the early stages of ascostromata maturation, becoming more abundant in later stages. Se estudió la ocurrencia y la distribución de Xanthophyllomyces dendrorhous asociado a Cyttaria hariotii en tres especies de Nothofagus (N. dombeyi, N. antarctica y N. pumilio) del noroeste de la Patagonia (Argentina), y los factores que podrían afectar esta distribución. El muestreo se realizó entre 2000 y 2007 en 18 sitios diferentes. Según las pruebas fisiológicas y las características morfológicas de las estructuras sexuales, 72 de los aislamientos obtenidos se identificaron como X. dendrorhous. Se estudiaron cepas representativas mediante la técnica de MSP-PCR fingerprinting y secuenciación de la región ITS. Los perfiles de MSP-PCR fueron similares, tanto entre los nuevos aislamientos como entre estos y los de cepas previamente obtenidas en la región. Esto apoya la hipótesis de que la asociación con diferentes especies hospedadoras ha determinado la diferenciación genética de X. dendrorhous en todo el mundo. X. dendrorhous se recuperó de N. dombeyi y de N. antarctica. Mazet Description An account of the resource Abstract Background Bats provide important ecosystem services; however, current evidence supports that they host several zoonotic viruses, including species of the Coronaviridae family. If bats in close interaction with humans host and shed coronaviruses with zoonotic potential, such as the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome virus, spillover may occur. Therefore, strategies aiming to mitigate potential spillover and disease emergence, while supporting the conservation of bats and their important ecological roles are needed. Past research suggests that coronavirus shedding in bats varies seasonally following their reproductive cycle; however, shedding dynamics have been assessed in only a few species, which does not allow for generalization of findings across bat taxa and geographic regions. Methods To assess the generalizability of coronavirus shedding seasonality, we sampled hundreds of bats belonging to several species with different life history traits across East Africa at different times of the year. We assessed, via Bayesian modeling, the hypothesis that chiropterans, across species and spatial domains, experience seasonal trends in coronavirus shedding as a function of the reproductive cycle. Results We found that, beyond spatial, taxonomic, and life history differences, coronavirus shedding is more expected when pups are becoming independent from the dam and that juvenile bats are prone to shed these viruses. Conclusions These findings could guide policy aimed at the prevention of spillover in limited-resource settings, where longitudinal surveillance is not feasible, by identifying high-risk periods for coronavirus shedding. In these periods, contact with bats should be avoided (for example, by impeding or forbidding people access to caves). Our proposed strategy provides an alternative to culling – an ethically questionable practice that may result in higher pathogen levels – and supports the conservation of bats and the delivery of their key ecosystem services. Los usuarios compatibles con COVID-19 serían priorizados y sometidos a una prueba de diagnóstico rápido para la búsqueda de anticuerpos anti-SARS-CoV-2. El tamizaje con la prueba de diagnóstico rápido permitiría detectar a las personas serorreactivas, en quienes se llevaría a cabo la confirmación diagnóstica mediante biología molecular (PCR). La información de los casos positivos confirmados por PCR se sometería nuevamente a técnicas de inteligencia artificial y estadística espacial para determinar los focos geográficos de infección. En estos focos se puede hacer búsqueda activa de contactos con los casos índices positivos y activar nuevamente la ruta de diagnóstico con la prueba de diagnóstico rápido y PCR. Conclusión. Este escenario puede ser un camino útil para que los países de la región con plataformas tecnológicas para el diagnóstico por PCR débiles o ausentes puedan maximizar los recursos existentes, estimar el peso epidemiológico de la COVID-19 (infección, morbilidad, mortalidad y letalidad) en sus territorios y definir planes de contención, mitigación y control acordes a sus necesidades. Este enfoque «perceptivo» del paisaje oscurece, o incluso con frecuencia enmascara bajo una falsa apariencia «natural», los elementos vivos medioambientales y materiales del propio paisaje. Éste es el caso de los paisajes rurales que se consideran, por el contrario, actualmente, producto de una amplia herencia rural europea. Ciertos factores específicos, medioambientales (ecológicos) y culturales (históricos), han sido identificados a partir de una «aproximación histórica» que controla en cada caso esta herencia histórica. Estos factores son los procesos histórico-ambientales que en cada época han configurado una variedad de paisajes agrarios, ganaderos y forestales; paisajes que queremos conservar. Este artículo intenta ilustrar todo esto a partir de unos pocos ejemplos, relativos a estudios realizados y en curso en Liguria (Noroeste de Italia). En cada una de las instituciones presentadas que estudian paisajes en escala del lugar correspondiente, vemos cómo interactúan a escala local historia, geografía, arqueología y ecología. En este proceso se pone a prueba una arqueología medioambiental, basada en los métodos de la ecología histórica y enfocada a la reconstrucción de la historia «individual» de los paisajes agro-silvo-ganaderos, de sus recursos ambientales y sus prácticas de gestión.
