Se cita por primera vez a Oobius rudnevi (Nowicki, 1928) (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae) de la Península Ibérica y el sur de Europa usando huevos centinela. El parasitoide se detectó en julio de 2016 en tres dehesas en Extremadura (SO de España), localizadas en Almendral (La Jara) y Mérida (La Serrana y Parque Natural de Cornalvo). O. rudnevi parasitó tanto los huevos de Cerambyx cerdo Linnaeus, 1758 (su único hospedador conocido hasta la fecha) como los de C. welensii (Küster, 1845), lo que supone una nueva asociación hospedador-parasitoide (C. welensii-O. rudnevi). El porcentaje de parasitismo se mostró bastante variable entre sitios y fechas (rango 0–93%), con mayor prevalencia en C. cerdo que en C. welensii. Nuevos estudios se desarrollan en campo y laboratorio para explorar la ecología, comportamiento y potencial parasitario de O. rudnevi en las dehesas mediterráneas de quercíneas.

Melting point of fats is used to characterize oils and fats and is related to their physical properties, such as hardness and thermal behaviour. The present work shows the utilization of DSC technique on the determination of melting point of fats. In a comparison with softening point (AOCS method Cc 3-25), DSC values were higher than those obtained by AOCS method. It has occurred due to the fact that values obtained by DSC technique were taken when the fat had melted completely. DSC was also useful for determining melting point of liquid oils, such as soybean and cottonseed ones.

La industria azucarera mexicana sufrió reiteradas crisis de sobreproducción por desajustes estructurales entre oferta y demanda y, por su escasa competitividad, sólo exportó para paliar eventuales excesos de existencias que deprimían el precio interno, del que dependían sus ganancias. Este artículo analiza la respuesta del Estado a la acumulación de stocks tras la depresión de 1930, que puso en peligro la viabilidad de un sector clave en el empleo rural, basada en la expansión del mercado interno, la conversión del azúcar en un bien salario, la cartelización de su producción y su completa regularización por parte del Gobierno, que a cambio facilitó el acceso al crédito oficial para financiar las operaciones y expansión del negocio. El éxito del programa fue uno de los hechos más destacados de la política de intervención pública en la economía a partir de los años treinta.

Con el objetivo de estudiar la percepción social y la valoración de la naturaleza por personas de diferente estrato social y en ciudades de diferente cultura, se inició un proyecto de cooperación internacional entre Alemania y Chile. Para la realización de este proyecto comparativo se escogieron barrios de clase media-alta y media-baja en cada uno de los países. En Alemania se estudiaron los barrios de Silberhöhe y Paulusviertel de la ciudad de Halle, y en Chile el sector de Tumbes (Comuna de Talcahuano) y la Comuna de San Pedro de la Paz, VIII Región del Biobío. La herramienta base para el estudio fue la aplicación de una encuesta base con las mismas preguntas para cada uno de los países. Se determinó cómo las personas de diferentes procedencias sociales y culturales presentaban un diferente uso y percepción del paisaje urbano. De la misma manera, en Chile la condición social del ciudadano condiciona la posibilidad de acceso a áreas verdes y de recreo.

Durante la realización de estudios sobre la diversidad y ecología de los ácaros oribátidos de Mongolia se encontró una interesante especie del género Peloribates que aquí se describe como nueva para la ciencia. La nueva especie, Peloribates angulatus, se diferencia de las especies próximas por la morfología de la cabeza del sensilo: relativamente larga y estrecha, el distinto número de setas genitales, la presencia de una marcada proyección angular en el margen lateral de la placa ventral, la existencia en el área anterolateral del notogáster de un retículo formado por múltiples estriaciones e impresiones musculares, la diferente disposición de las setas notogastrales y un mayor tamaño corporal.

En este artículo se abordan dos cuestiones diferentes, aunque interconectadas. La primera es: ¿puede articularse una política de la ecología en términos de ciudadanía? Mi respuesta a esta pregunta es afirmativa, presentando una propuesta de «ciudadanía ecológica». Esto conduce a la segunda cuestión: ¿cómo afecta la ciudadanía ecológica a la noción misma de ciudadanía? Esta cuestión se responde mediante la articulación de una «arquitectura » de la teoría de la ciudadanía que se organiza a través de las oposiciones entre derechos y deberes, la esfera pública y la privada, la ciudadanía activa y la pasiva y, por último, entre las concepciones «territorializadas » y «desterritorializadas» de la ciudadanía. Se defiende que la noción de ciudadanía ecológica desestabiliza la arquitectura estándar de la ciudadanía al poner el énfasis en los deberes de los ciudadanos más que en los derechos; al sugerir que el ámbito privado es un espacio tan legítimo para la actividad ciudadana como el espacio público, al negar la asociación habitual entre la ciudadanía «pasiva» y el ámbito privado, y al revalidar las concepciones desterritorializadas de ciudadanía. Finalmente, se presenta la contribución de la ciudadanía ecológica a la «remoralización» de la política, y se trazan algunas de las tensiones resultantes de su confrontación con las exigencias de la democracia liberal.

En este trabajo analizamos la riqueza y la distribución ecológica de la flora vascular de cinco áreas del NE de la Península Ibérica, que corresponden a cinco pisos de vegetación y a tres regiones florísticas distintas: Mediterránea (piso basal), Medioeuropea (pisos submontano y montano) y Boreoalpina (pisos subalpino y alpino). Cada una de las áreas consideradas, de alrededor de 1000 ha de superficie, presenta una clara uniformidad en lo que se refiere a vegetación potencial, tipo de substrato y bioclima. En ningún caso incluyen grandes núcleos de población ni zonas agrícolas extensas, de modo que se trata de paisajes mayoritariamente naturales o moderadamente antropizados. El tamaño de la flora de estas cinco áreas presenta una función unimodal respecto a la altitud, registrándose el mayor número de especies (568) en el piso submontano. El descenso de la riqueza de especies es moderado hacia los pisos adyacentes (basal y montano), y más acentuado entre los pisos montano y subalpino, y más aún hacia el piso alpino (el área con una flora más pobre, 217 especies). Sin embargo, teniendo en cuenta la superficie de los territorios estudiados, el piso montano presenta una riqueza de especies mayor que el piso submontano. El empobrecimiento altitudinal de la flora sigue los mismos patrones generales encontrados en otros gradientes de altitud y de latitud, y refleja el incremento de restricciones ambientales y el descenso de la diversidad de hábitats que se da en las regiones más frías. Por el contrario, la riqueza de la flora de los pisos montano y submontano es consecuencia de unas condiciones generales más favorables para los vegetales, y también de la presencia de un cierto número de taxones de las regiones contiguas (Mediterránea y Boreoalpina). Desde el piso basal hasta el subalpino, la flora característica de los hábitats forestales representa una pequeña parte de cada una de las floras locales (entre el 6,5 y el 13,2%). Del resto de especies, prácticamente la mitad (42-46%) se encuentran en las diversas comunidades seriales (claros forestales, matorrales, pastos), mientras que la otra mitad (44-51%) vive en hábitats particulares (áreas rocosas, márgenes de agua) o bien en áreas antropizadas. En el piso alpino, prácticamente la mitad de los taxones se encuentra en pastizales, mientras que el resto corresponde a hábitats rocosos o ligados a humedales. En general, no hemos encontrado relación entre el tamaño de la flora particular de cada uno de los hábitats principales y la extensión que ocupan estos hábitats. Los cambios recientes en los usos del suelo -principalmente relacionados con el abandono rural- no parecen afectar al tamaño de la flora ruderal, que persiste por pequeñas que sean las áreas perturbadas, y quizá tampoco a la rupícola e higrófila. Sin embargo, la reforestación espontánea reduce claramente la extensión de hábitats secundarios (matorrales, pastos), con la consiguiente reducción y fragmentación de poblaciones e, incluso, la posible extinción local de las especies más raras de estos hábitats.

[es] Se indica por primera vez para el continente europeo la presencia de Ursinia nana, una Anthemideae de origen sudafricano introducida en el NE de la Península Ibérica. Además de su localización precisa, morfología, número cromosómico, ecología y de un censo de sus poblaciones, se ofrecen datos sobre el ciclo vital, estructura floral, biología reproductiva y dispersión de los frutos. Son remarcables el claro dominio de la autogamia (geitonogamia) sobre la xenogamia como sistema reproductivo y la alta producción de frutos con elevada e inmediata capacidad germinativa, características que permiten una colonización rápida de esta especie introducida que pudiera devenir invasora. No obstante la predación de sus frutos por la hormiga Messor barbarus evidencian un mecanismo natural que interviene en la regulación del crecimiento de sus poblaciones, lo que puede permitir su control biológico. Finalmente se analizan las posibilidades de expansión en el área colonizada y de su posible naturalización en el NE de la Península Ibérica.[ct] La presència d’Ursinia nana, una Anthemideae d’origen sud-africà introduïda al NE de la Península Ibèrica, s’assenyala per primera vegada al continent europeu. A més de la seva precisa localització, morfologia, nombre cromosòmic, ecologia i un cens de les seves poblacions, s’ofereixen dades sobre el cicle vital, estructura floral, biologia reproductiva i dispersió dels fruits. Cal remarcar el clar domini de la geitonogàmia sobre la xenogàmia com a sistema reproductiu i l’abundant producció de fruits amb elevada i immediata capacitat germinativa, característiques que permeten a aquesta espècie introduïda una ràpida colonització que podria esdevenir invasora. Malgrat tot, la predació dels seus fruits per la formiga Messor barbarus posa de manifest un mecanisme natural que intervé en la regulació del creixement de les seves poblacions, la qual cosa permet un cert control biològic. Finalment s’analitzen les possibilitats d’expansió en el ària colonitzada i la seva possible naturalització en el NE de la Península Ibèrica.
