Fue el comienzo de la Convención Marco de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Cambio Climático y también el inicio del establecimiento de las Conferencias de las Partes, que actualmente se encuentra en su vigésimo quinta edición. El Acuerdo de París se negoció en la vigésimo primera edición de la Conferencia de las Partes y es el tema central de este estudio debido a su relevancia en el contexto de las reducciones de emisiones. El Acuerdo de París se creó en diciembre de 2015 y el trabajo sobre el clima el cambio acababa de empezar. El texto final del Acuerdo de París aborda temas importantes. No obstante, el documento carece de claridad sobre muchos temas, que fueron dejados de lado intencionalmente para alcanzar un consenso para terminar el trabajo del Comité de París. Teniendo en cuenta este escenario y los desafíos derivados de este tratado internacional, el artículo analizará las Conferencias ya celebradas hasta el Acuerdo de París. También analizará las negociaciones de la COP21 a partir de 2015, teniendo en cuenta una comprensión histórica de la preocupación internacional por el cambio climático y los documentos creados por la Conferencia. La huella de carbono puede constituir uno de esos índices integradores para correcta toma de decisiones a nivel municipal. En el presente trabajo se resumen los resultados de un primer acercamiento al tema en el municipio de Lajas, provincia de Cienfuegos, Cuba. Para ello se aplicó la metodología de la Oficina Española de Cambio Climático del Ministerio de Agricultura, Alimentación y Medio Ambiente adaptada a las condiciones de Cuba. A parir de la selección de las actividades socioeconómicas más importantes del municipio, se calculó la huella de carbono del año 2020 y su comportamiento con relación al año anterior. Un balance con la capacidad de absorción de la actividad agrícola-forestal permitió verificar si la flora de Lajas responde a las emisiones de CO2 a la atmosfera para proponer acciones de mejora en la localidad. Palabras clave: Huella de carbono, cambio climático, gases efecto invernadero.   ABSTRACT An expression of local development is environmental sustainability and one of the objectives of the ecological economy is the search for sustainability indicators, so it is necessary to find the most appropriate ones to draw up correct strategies from the local level. The carbon footprint can be one of those integrating indices for correct decision-making at the municipal level. The present work summarizes the results of a first approach to the subject in the municipality of Lajas, province of Cienfuegos, Cuba. For this, the methodology of the Spanish Office of Climate Change of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment was applied, adapted to the conditions of Cuba. Based on the selection of the most important socioeconomic activities in the municipality, the carbon footprint for 2020 and its behavior in relation to the previous year were calculated. A balance with the absorption capacity of the agricultural-forestry activity allowed to verify if the flora of Lajas responds to the CO2 emissions to the atmosphere to propose improvement actions in the locality. Las pérdidas de alimentos afectan a la seguridad alimentaria de los pobres, a la calidad y la inocuidad alimentarias, al desarrollo económico y al medioambiente. La investigación fue realizada en el mercado agropecuario estatal “La Vallita”, ubicado en la avenida Garzón en la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba, en el periodo de septiembre de 2018 a abril de 2019. La presente investigación tiene como objetivos determinar las causas de las pérdidas de los productos agropecuarios., elaborar una estrategia de reducción de pérdidas y desperdicios de alimentos de uso interno del mercado para elevar el estándar de servicio y por último cuantificar económicamente las pérdidas y desperdicio de alimentos (PDA) durante el periodo de investigación para implementar medidas que reduzcan las mismas. Las pérdidas y desperdicios de alimentos ocurren principalmente por fallas en el sistema productivo. Palabras clave: Pérdidas, desperdicios, alimentos.   ABSTRACT The issue of food losses is very important in efforts to fight hunger, increase incomes and improve food security in the poorest countries of the world. Food losses affect the food security of the poor, food quality and safety, economic development and the environment. The research was conducted in the state agricultural market “La Vallita”, located on Garzón Avenue in the city of Santiago de Cuba, from September 2018 to April 2019. The purpose of this research is to determine the causes of the losses of agricultural products develop a strategy to reduce losses and waste of food for internal use of the market to raise the standard of service and finally quantify economically the losses and waste of food during the investigation period to implement measures that reduce the same.
