<text>Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), with a clinical outcome ranging from mild to severe, including death. To date, it is unclear why some patients develop severe symptoms. Many authors have suggested the involvement of vitamin D in reducing the risk of infections; thus, we retrospectively investigated the 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) concentrations in plasma obtained from a cohort of patients from Switzerland. In this cohort, significantly lower 25(OH)D levels (p = 0.004) were found in PCR-positive for SARS-CoV-2 (median value 11.1 ng/mL) patients compared with negative patients (24.6 ng/mL); this was also confirmed by stratifying patients according to age >70 years. On the basis of this preliminary observation, vitamin D supplementation might be a useful measure to reduce the risk of infection. Randomized controlled trials and large population studies should be conducted to evaluate these recommendations and to confirm our preliminary observation.</text>

<text>: In the face of the constant development of Brazilian wine market, Gauchos producers have been organizing to provide the demands on the volume and quality of final product commercialized. Especially, these economic agents confront challenges inherent in agribusiness, such as the difficulty of access to information and opportunistic behavior from transactional partners. Therefore, the study aims to understand the decision-making process of the family farmers that produce grapes in the mountainous region of Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil, as a function of socioeconomic scenario of the production chain and the efficiency of production units. To this end, information was collected on existing studies about the production chain and interviews were conducted with eleven producers living in Flores da Cunha city. It is emphasized that the process of decision making of economic agents is conducted in the collective of the family, more focused on everyday issues. However, prevailing the peculiarities of limited rationality of economic agents. Therefore, always oriented to the achievement of greater efficiency of the productive activity and social welfare of the family, the decisions reflect the broad range of objective and subjective aspects surrounding farmers, in accordance with the technical and economic performances and between production systems that compose the rural property.</text>

<text>The Brazilian State legitimated late family farming as a social category, simultaneously with the constitution of the National Program for Strengthening Family Agriculture (Pronaf) in the mid-1990s. Since its inception, Pronaf has passing transformations aimed at credit and the target audience. The present study intends to analyze the evolution and distribution of the resources of the National Program for Strengthening Family Farming between the Brazilian regions from 1999 to 2017. Specifically, it was sought: a) present the program; b) identify the value of resources distributed among the Brazilian regions; and c) highlighting the main obstacles and challenges of the program. Methodologically the research is classified as qualitative, from the deductive method. Secondary data were sought from the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB). Bibliographic research was also used. The main results highlight the inequality and concentration in the distribution of credit, which was grouped in the Southern Region between 1999 and 2002. Between 2003 and 2006 resources were better distributed and the South Region decreased its participation with increased participation of the Northeast, Southeast and North regions. Since 2007, resources have been re-concentrated in the Southern Region. The program has again promoted modern agriculture, being accessed basically by commodity producers in capitalized regions. Pronaf limitations include selectivity in favor of capitalized farmers, commodity producers, regional concentration of credit and low access to more impoverished households.</text>

<text>The article investigates the 21st-century fashion through the theoretical lens of the mise en abyme, focusing on the mixed reality as an extended panorama between physical and digital. Four case studies were chosen within the Italian context, deemed as a place of experimentation and interaction between digital innovation and manufacturing tradition. Those cases have developed projects in mixed reality during the months of social distancing imposed by Covid-19, with significant consequences on creative processes, production, distribution, communication and consumption of fashion. In this scenario, the article questions the expansion of fashion experience, the ongoing transformation of the digital object, the conception and perception of time and the idea of intimacy at the time of Covid.</text>
