El estudio tiene como objetivo conocer la respuesta en el rendimientodel cultivo del sorgo (Sorghum bicolor, variedad V-4) en condiciones de secano destinado a la alimentación animal en la agricultura urbana. Elexperimento se llevó a cabo sobre un suelo aluvial en los meses de junio - septiembre del 2006 con una ocurrencia de 326,9 mm de precipitacióntotal. El rendimiento obtenido (4,86 t/ha) muestra que las precipitaciones permitieron en el suelo un nivel de humedad adecuado para el normaldesarrollo del ciclo biológico del cultivo, así como recomendar sembrarlo en los meses más lluviosos, sin necesidad de aplicar riegos suplementarios.
