Nesta análise, que se baseou em dados do Censo Agropecuário de 2006, foram empregados o índice de Gini, a área média, o percentual da área correspondente aos 5% dos estabelecimentos maiores e o percentual da área correspondente aos 50% dos estabelecimentos menores. Constatou-se que, em geral, os estabelecimentos familiares do estado apresentam área reduzida. A maior parte deles, quase 87%, pode ser caracterizada como minifúndio. Observou-se ainda que a maior proporção de minifúndios tende a ser encontrada em municípios com estrutura fundiária mais concentrada.
