A metodologia envolveu coleta de dados secundários do Censo Agropecuário 2006 e pesquisa de campo em duas frentes: os agentes de desenvolvimento locais e as famílias agricultoras. As análises foram feitas a partir da atuação histórica das organizações sociais – STR, CMDR e Associações – e a realidade encontrada nos três municípios. Os resultados apontaram para a limitação do papel do sindicato no acesso aos benefícios sociais, inexistência de participação nos conselhos e associações frágeis e personalizadas na figura do presidente.
