              <text>Richness and diversity of briophyte species from severallocalites in tropical and Subandean regions at Serrania del Perijá (Cesar- Colombia) were studied. All registers: of mosses (111 species) and thirteen of seventy - six hepatics are new corological novelties. Species established in the tropical region represent 5% ofthe total of species : meantime atthe Subandean zone occurs mostly ofthe species (95%).En varias localidades de las regiones de vida tropical y subandina de la Serranía del Perijá (Cesar, Colombia) se encontraron 111 especies de musgos y 76 de hepáticas. Todos los registros de musgos y 13 de hepáticas son novedades coro lógicas para la brioflora del Cesar. En la franja tropical (0-900 m) se encuentra el 15% de las especies, mientras que en la subandina (franja baja de 1000-1590 m y franja alta de 1600-2000 m) se concentra e195% de las especies registradas.</text>
