Para tal, busca-se compreender os distintos cálculos presentes, respectivamente, na apropriação e na operacionalização da política pública, a partir do estudo de vinte e cinco casos no agreste pernambucano. Analisam-se os projetos de financiamento e neles o papel dos animais nas economias familiares. A abordagem antropológica utilizada para a análise do microcrédito rural — atenta às estratégias de apropriação dos agricultores, e aos cálculos nelas implícitas — permite ir além dos parâmetros convencionais de análise e com isso compreender como tal política pública tem sido incorporada na lógica de reprodução da agricultura familiar no Nordeste, fortalecendo-a.
