Green urban areas image and use - the case of Passeio Público from Curitiba-PRAbstract In order to evaluate the importance of the green urban areas aiming at the reduction of the environmental impacts caused by man intense intervention over the natural environment, this paper checks this reduction power by analysing urban public parks. To achieve that goal, it brings theoretical bases that will subsidize the research in order to evaluate how the ordinary citizens, through daily practices, by noticing green areas, use and make their tracking, which will give means to develop a particular image. To support the research, an experimental study on Curitiba-PR public walk was held.</text>
