Los análisis físico-químicos se realizaron en el laboratorio de suelos y agua de la Universidad Nacional Agraria. En cuanto al uso actual de los suelos agrícolas predominan los granos básicos, raíces y tubérculos y café robusta, son suelos manejados de forma tradicional con indicios de degradación física (hídrica y eólica) y biológica, medianamente ácidos, con materia orgánica y nitrógeno adecuados para satisfacer la demanda de los cultivos, el fósforo es deficiente y el potasio moderadamente disponible.
