Description An account of the resource Two research stations (Minca, 700 m altitude and Marfa Teresa, 790 m altitude) were established in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in places to study the soil fauna associated with forest and coffee plantations. Soil fauna was collected using Pitfall and Berlesse traps. Samples were taken from litter as well as from horizons O, A and B. Individuals collected were identified to family level. Diversity, abundance and frequency indexes were used to compare fauna composition at both sites. Significant differences were found between the two research sites as well as with data from other high altitude forest in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
