Desde una perspectiva internacional muy amplia, y abordando aspectos tan diversos como los derechos humanos, el crecimiento económico, el mantenimiento de la paz o la financiación de la lucha contra el cambio climático, se recogen en total doce trabajos independientes, pero relacionados todos ellos entre sí por la consideración de que los presupuestos públicos no son neutrales, y deben ser dirigidos hacia la reducción de las desigualdades entre hombres y mujeres a la hora de acceder a las distintas oportunidades, tanto de carácter económico, como social o educativo.</text>
