Yaşanan şiddetin sonucunda fiziksel ve ruhsal sorunlar yaşamakta, engel durumları artmakta veya yaşamlarını yitirebilmektedirler. Yapılan ulusal ve uluslararası birçok çalışmada engellilerin fiziksel ve cinsel başta olmak üzere birçok şiddet türüne maruz kaldıkları vurgulanmaktadır 9 yaşında bakımevinde kalan olgumuzda bakımından sorumlu kişi tarafından şiddetin en ağır sonucuna maruz kalmıştır.
