El recurso biomásico se encuentra heterogéneamente distribuido en el territorio nacional, razón por la cual en este trabajo se lo agrupa según regiones geográficas: Noroeste y Noreste Argentino, Cuyo, Región Pampeana y Patagónica. A partir de esta cuantificación se estiman tanto la generación potencial de electricidad y su costo según distintas tecnologías empleadas como la cantidad anual de combustible fósil que podría ser reemplazado por hidrógeno biomásico con la consecuente reducción de emisión de dióxido de carbono (CO_2).
