              <text>A presença da mosca-do-figo, Zaprionus indianus Gupta, 1970 (Diptera: Drosophilidae), foi registrada pela primeira vez no Brasil em 1999 no Estado de São Paulo. No ano de 2001, foi relatada atacando frutos de espécies exóticas e nativas na Região Litorânea do Estado de Santa Catarina, e no mês de abril de 2002 foi encontrada atacando frutos de figo na Região Oeste Catarinense. Acredita-se que a rápida dispersão da praga pelas diferentes regiões do País deu-se, principalmente, através da comercialização de frutos in natura. Seu potencial de dano é bastante grande, podendo causar quebra de até 80% da produção, se não for controlada. O seu ciclo biológico  (ovo–adulto) é bastante rápido, ou seja, menor que 20 dias. As fêmeas realizam a postura no ostíolo do fruto (cavidade pistilar). Após a eclosão as larvas penetram no interior dos frutos onde se desenvolvem, causando dano a eles. Uma medida bastante simples e eficaz de controle é colocar na região do ostíolo, do fruto ainda verde, um adesivo para evitar que as fêmeas realizem a postura</text>
