Com a intenção de analisar essa experiência cooperativista, como instrumento de inserção de agricultores familiares no agronegócio do açafrão (corante e condimento), o texto aborda, em perspectiva histórica, a gênese e o crescimento do agronegócio do produto na região. O enfoque de análise procura dar visibilidade a relações sociais conflitivas tecidas pelos agentes sociais participantes da cadeia de produção, expondo-se as dificuldades enfrentadas pelos agricultores, tendo em vista, especialmente, a ação de agentes intermediários envolvidos no processo de comercialização. With the intention of analysing this experience, as an instrument for insertion of family farmers in the turmeric agribusiness (pigment and seasoning), the text approaches, under a historical perspective, the genesis and growth of the agribusiness for this product in the region. The approach is focused on the conflictive social relations stabilished by social agents that take part in the production chain,exposing the difficulties faced by farmers, and pointing out specially the action of intermediary agents involved in the commercialization process.
