Colocamos 150 vasos plásticos ('bromelias artificiales') en un bosque de Costa Rica y hallamos que cuando se evita experimentalmente la caída en ellos de residuos y lluvia, algunos grupos no se encuentran (incluyendo Culicidae, un grupo de importancia médica) o difieren en frecuencia entre tratamiento y control.
