La investigación tuvo por objetivo analizar cuál es el papel de la agricultura urbana familiar en la construcción de la sustentabilidad en una ciudad media, tomando como caso de estudio a San Cristóbal de Las Casas en Chiapas. La metodología se basó en el diseño de una investigación cualitativa, basada principalmente en entrevistas abiertas y estructuradas, que permitiera abordar la sustentabilidad de la agricultura urbana desde la perspectiva de la resiliencia socioecológica. En el trabajo se encontraron los siguientes resultados: los sistemas agrícolas visitados presentan características que favorecen la resiliencia y la sustentabilidad en la ciudad: las familias cultivan hortalizas, frutales y otras plantas comestibles, y crían animales menores, optimizando el espacio, fuerza de trabajo y tiempo disponible. Predomina un bajo uso de insumos externos y químicos, el aprovechamiento y reciclaje de residuos domésticos, y el manejo germoplasma local. La limitación que se detectó fue que, aunque el aporte de la propia producción al consumo familiar es muy bajo, existen motivaciones alimentarias, ambientales y socio-culturales que animan su continuidad. Se concluye que el aporte de la agricultura urbana para la sustentabilidad en las ciudades medias, tiene como base las experiencias productivas y recursos locales, considerando su vinculación regional.

San Cristóbal de Las Casas ha crecido en las últimas décadas abarcando las zonas rurales circundantes. El objetivo del presente trabajo consistió en identificar las transformaciones que la interacción urbano-rural imprime sobre la actividad agrícola de un área periurbana: el cerro Huitepec. Se revisó información documental y se levantaron 100 entrevistas abiertas y estructuradas entre población de las localidades rurales e informantes clave. Aunque ha perdido relevancia como fuente de ingresos económicos familiares, la agricultura y la cría de animales de traspatio aún tienen un papel significativo para el autoconsumo familiar.

Como conclusión se puede confirmar que Meliá Hoteles genera, transmite y consigue respuesta de los diferentes stakeholders a los que se dirige.

La literatura señala que la innovación tiene como base el conocimiento, para promover cambios que generen mayores beneficios en las empresas. En este trabajo, se analiza el nivel de adopción de innovaciones y los factores asociados en 94 empresas familiares agropecuarias y agroindustriales mexicanas, participantes en una capacitación enfocada en aspectos técnicos, administrativos, organizacionales y familiares. Se encuestó al 63% de estas empresas y se analizó la información a través de indicadores de innovación, comparación de medias y correlaciones. Los resultados mostraron impactos significativos en la adopción de innovaciones en los cuatro aspectos; además, se encontró que la escolaridad, los años en la actividad y el número de familiares involucrados en la empresa se asocian con mayores niveles de innovación.

Los libros de texto son el recurso didáctico más utilizado en las aulas. Familias, profesorado y alumnado, junto con los Gobiernos y editoriales, son los principales defensores de su utilización. Pero este mediador curricular no es neutral y en muchas ocasiones se convierte en un instrumento de legitimación de contenidos que no son científicos. El cambio climático es el problema ecosocial más importante de este siglo y requiere del compromiso de toda la ciudadanía para dar una respuesta global. Según numerosos estudios, el alumnado de secundaria tiene dos vías de aprendizaje sobre la emergencia clima, el cambio climático y el calentamiento global: los medios de comunicación (y redes sociales) y el sistema educativo. En este trabajo presentamos el análisis de la información sobre cambio climático que facilitan los libros de texto de estos niveles educativos para entender porque este alumnado no percibe la urgencia del problema y porque no son proactivos en cuanto a medidas para enfrentarlo. Para finalizar, facilitamos una serie de recomendaciones dirigidas a las editoriales, autoras y autores y al profesorado en general.

La Red de las Américas para la Equidad en Salud (RAES) es una red multidisciplinaria que promueve el intercambio de conocimientos y la acción intersectorial para la equidad en salud y los derechos humanos en las Américas. Los objetivos de la RAES consisten en: 1) compartir experiencias exitosas en el desarrollo de intervenciones, considerando la determinación y los determinantes sociales, para lograr respuestas participativas y comunitarias en salud; 2) analizar los impactos sanitarios, sociales, políticos, ambientales y económicos de la pandemia de COVID-19; 3) identificar los efectos de la atención de la pandemia en las poblaciones de mayor riesgo por su edad y las condiciones de salud preexistentes; 4) examinar la situación de las fronteras y de los movimientos de población en la propagación de la pandemia y de sus efectos en las poblaciones migrantes; 5) proponer estrategias para asegurar el acceso a la atención integral de las mujeres gestantes, con el fin de reducir el sufrimiento, la morbilidad y la mortalidad materna y neonatal; y 6) analizar vulneraciones de derechos humanos y del derecho a la salud de poblaciones históricamente marginalizadas, incluyendo habitantes en situación de calle y otras comunidades que dependen de los espacios públicos y de la calle para sobrevivir. Los modelos analíticos y de intervención para la equidad en salud de la RAES se desarrollan desde varios enfoques, como la medicina social, la epidemiologia social, la antropología médica, la ecología humana y el de Una salud.

Introduction: In this era of social distancing, dependence on electronic gadgets and devices is ever increasing. Possibility of transmission of COVID -19 from these devices cannot be ruled out. Currently, prevention is the only antidote; considering the mounting evidence of transmission of COVID-19 virus primarily through respiratory droplets and fomites. Gadgets are one of the most frequently touched appliances; being often used during or after patient examination, while handling specimens or during various patient procedures. Collecting data regarding mobile sanitization is prudent at these times. The aim of this systematic review is to summarize published evidence on mobile sanitization in these COVID times.Methods: PubMed search on “COVID and mobile phone” revealed only 4 articles related to this topic; therefore we have assimilated data from various organizations, websites and articles and have suggested methodology for sanitization of mobile phones and other gadgets.Results: Infection control practices which include information, communication, education and evaluation are the pre-eminent weapons in the fight against hospital transmitted SARS-CoV-2. Minimizing mobile phone usage, sanitizing them with endorsed biocidal agents and advancements in the field of ultraviolet cabinets is a priority.Conclusion: At the same time we shouldn’t forget that sanitization is only one aspect of prevention of this disease; maintaining hand hygiene, use of masks and social distancing must be followed at all times.

Esta especie ha evolucionado en diferentes microambientes de la Región Caribe colombiana lo que ha generado una gran variabilidad genética; por esta razón, en el C.I. Turipaná de la Corporación Colombiana de Investigación Agropecuaria –CORPOICA– se procedió a caracterizar morfo-agronómicamente 256 cultivares criollos de maíz del banco de germoplasma de CORPOICA y cinco cultivares comerciales; a tal fin se utilizaron 42 descriptores del CIMMYT/IBPGR para incorporar estos criterios, de acuerdo con sus atributos agronómicos, en un programa de fitomejoramiento participativo. Fue necesario realizar estimaciones de datos faltantes, tanto para variables cuantitativas como cualitativas, cuando lo ameritaron. Posteriormente, los datos fueron procesados utilizando análisis de componentes principales y análisis de conglomerados. El análisis de componentes mostró que los cinco primeros componentes explicaron el 95,20% de la variación total y que las variables con mayor contribución fueron la longitud total de la espiga, el ángulo de la hoja y la longitud del pedúnculo de la espiga. El dendrograma del agrupamiento indicó la existencia de dos subgrupos de alta variabilidad genética entre ellos que constituye una buena fuente para el mejoramiento de plantas.</span></span><span style='font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;'></span></p>

<p>En Colombia, el arroz ocupa el primer lugar en seguridad alimentaria, valor económico y generación de empleo entre los cultivos anuales, siendo el sistema bajo riego mãs importante. El objetivo fue determinar el progreso, estabilidad y adaptabilidad del rendimiento de arroz bajo riego, en cinco departamentos del caribe colombiano. Se utilizaron datos del Ministerio de Agricultura y Desarrollo Rural, correspondiente a los Departamentos de Córdoba, Bolívar, Magdalena, Cesar y Guajira, durante el periodo 1987-2008. La estimación del progreso del rendimiento se realizó a través del análisis de regresión lineal entre los años (variable explicativa) y el rendimiento de grano (variable explicada). La estabilidad se determinó a través del coeficiente de variación para tres periodos consecutivos de cinco años y el último de siete. La adaptabilidad, se realizó con el coeficiente de regresión lineal (bi). Los resultados destacan que el progreso en el rendimiento de grano en el Caribe colombiano, osciló entre 1.15% y</p>3.36% por año y 52.2 y 168.1 kg.ha-1, especialmente en el Departamento de Bolivar (3.36% por año y 168.1 kg.ha-1). La estabilidad, resultó en general alta (CV<15.56%) y se incrementó con los años. Los cinco departamentos, presentaron adaptabilidad general (bi>4.57) para el rendimiento de grano.
